4—Excessive production of a single product can lead to economic crises, and we will find that certain products suddenly depreciate to worthless, and certain goods become very expensive.
5—All of this will reflect on [1], and we will see different races' preferences for the economy, such as pirates loving illegal goods, and our economic activity with illegal goods will cause pirates to take over a system

Based on the conflict level the amount of npc's from neighboring systems can just come around, over time slowly shifting the dominant race in that system and potentially changing the economy

Example: Tranquil + Manufacturing Economy Gek system over time shifts over to an Unstable Korvax system with a Trading Economy

also, the economy thing should be a bit more significant, i notice barely any differences in prices and items between systems when it comes to buying and selling with exception to outlaw and regulated

Weird thing to focus on, but I don't like how we can't call npcs in ships or npcs cant initiate a conversation with us on foot.
Also, whenever we sell something to an npc, they always buy it.. Why cant they decline or run out of money?
Why are their ships always for sale? How come some npcs dont refuse to sell their ship or negotiate a price for it?

That's the question, maybe these NPCs should have a fixed amount of cash, and when cash is low, they will negotiate or trade items, and each NPC should also have their own particular favorite items.

As for ship exchange and purchase, unless there is a facility such as a dock or a ship trading market in the game, ship exchange is currently the only way we can buy ships with money, and it doesn't seem suitable to change now.

Of course I would love to see that there are actually different ship builders in the shipyard who sell their ships uniformly through their agents.

I don't think nms will be updating the shipyard anytime soon though...unless it comes with the custom ship feature.

if anyone knows the Elite Dangerous, They will know that the economic system and faction system of the NMS can be modified better. and NMS is already better than ED in my opinion because that game has become a goddamn jerk game by teasing players and selling more in-game purchases

regardless, it's definitely a good direction to focus on enhancing NPC interactivity in the NMS, especially as it improves all experiences on the ground and in space, as well as in economics and combat

Kind of sick and tired of taking direct shield and health damage while inside the exocraft. The minotaur is a rather large target and cannot evade fire like a player avatar. Arguably the players shields and health should remain undamaged while piloting an exocraft with the exocraft having its own shield and health values. When the exocraft takes enough damage the player should be ejected from the vehicle untill repaired and only than should they be vulnerable to incoming direct damage. This should only apply to combat and not damage from environmental effects.

I think ship parts could be collected through out the game and then you'd need a settlement to pimp out your ship with the available parts you got.

honestly i just had this idea recently, but if it isn't already a thing, some player made quests could be interesting to see. Stuff such as "Go to this place, and get this material for a reward" and just have it go off into however many little deviations the player making the quest would be interested in making. Like "Oh, that thing you needed to find in this area? I already found it, and sold it off to someone else." etc

A way to counteract people from spamming thousands of quests through this system would be 1 quest per person, and said person has to be present to give the quest. Like an npc out of a game. This would allow people to be more immersive with some of their requests, while also offering up a way to roleplay more with the game, with a pop-up, marker, etc. And instead of the player needing to be present for the end of quest bit, you could simply log in at a terminal in the player hub, perhaps, built specifically for said quests. You place the item in the computer, the game checks the quest, and you get rewarded for it.
As a bonus, the reward for obtaining said materials should be just a little higher compared to how much a player would make simply selling said materials off. Geknip would sell for 30-40k units, instead of the usual 20k that selling would give. Or maybe an item from the player posing the quest. Player puts in a weapon they're gonna give away for the Geknip, the game then gives said item to the player when the quest is completed.

It is probably said in here every single day, more character customizations. Idc if it's more expeditions or DLC at this point, I'm tired of the space thong. Femme customizations would be nice as well, don't need it overly hot/sexualized-- mean more just sleek, curves, small shoulders, hips. Would be cool to see a bubble helmet that is like the quintessential old school fishbowl helm. AND MORE JETPACKS!

I think there needs to be improvements to the standing system in which there should be a karma system based on standing to make the game feel more like an rpg. Like if you often pillage vykeen systems and get an absurdly low standing, you should feel the consequences when travelling to vykeen systems. Some examples of consequences would be:

-Bounty placed on you (Frequent NPC attacks while in space or in settlement. If a player finds you they can see the bounty in which they have to kill you to claim it which will in turn reward them with a great amount Nanites or Quicksilver and increased standing. The more you commit crimes, the higher your bounty will be. You can always pay off your bounty with units in a space station) This would be better with a pvp update.

-Limited trading in systems (depending on the standing, trading limitations can go from higher prices/excluded items to straight up being denied from trading with NPCs and galactic terminal for those systems)

-Lowest standing will lead to being denied entry to space stations (which will not let you pay off your bounty), refrain from increasing standing from all sources, and presence in low standing systems being visible to nearby players. If desired to increase standing at this stage, a mission will prompt in which you have to meet a leader of said race in a planet and gain trust back by completing a very difficult challenge and making an oath.

Having good standing with race can also lead to many benefits. Some benefits could be:

-Discounts on bartering and more items to browse.

-Being able to buy space stations and receive income benefits and even bigger discounts on goods.

-Good chances of NPCs aiding you during a planetary raid or fighting sentinels.

-Better missions with bigger rewards

-Highest standing will unlock an exclusive character customization gradient color and a decal with each race having its own unique color/decal.

Ever since they have overhauled the graphics in this game, I have had many crashes. I count 29 crashes total that my system has gotten so far in the past month and there are way more than that I have had from my entire time of playing the game.

I decided to do some base building and there were many bugs that I have encountered for base building. The issues/bugs that I was having were forever loading when reloading a save at base, extractors working only if power was off and don't work when power is connected, extractor extracting 0/h, short ranged teleporter are teleporting me to the wrong ones, electromagnetic generators failing to work, game crashes when attempting to remove a specific extractor, and being able to take out the materials infinitely from the extraction storage.

Not only did base building have bugs but there are many bugs that this game has that haven't been fixed and it is ruining other players experiences including me. My platform is a PS4 that is 7 years old so I am thinking the personal issues I am getting is from there. After all, my FPS is bad and only got worse from the base that I built when I'm near it. My other issue is that every planet I go to take a while to load before I can land. I have been in the #nms-questions channel for about roughly a month now which is when I had joined this discord server too and half of the questions that players have in their are how to fix bugs. Some of the bugs that other players encountered were not only inconvenient but unfixable and ruined their gameplay!

No other game I played was this bad with bugs and being able to load like this in general. these problems have persisted for years on my console.

In conclusion, I am done base building or possibly even playing the game until I get a new console. Hello Games should focus less on content and prioritize more on bug fixing.

Hey I have a quick question to ask. Will there ever be pirate fleets in the game? Like not just a few fighters but like, fleets with frigates and freighters. It could make a way to loot freighters without having to ruin your reputation with another faction.

Well I imagine if they ever are implemented they would be extremely rare and not as large as normal fleets.

But it could add another difficulty level in the game for players who are tired of constantly destroying random space pirates in every battle, and we could possibly see some freighter vs freighter action since other factions don't attack eachother.

Storage silos will no longer require more to built, but instead will increase in capacity as they are upgraded. Storage silos can be upgraded by adding 10 metal plating, and will basically be the exact same without the framerate suffering because of storage

I always had a feeling thry rewrote a lot of the code for how building structures and parts worked with Frontiers.
That update didn't have too much content but it was also pretty buggy, and a lot of the bugs were related to freighters and outposts.
Like the meat of the uodate was under thr hood that allowed HG to do new stuff going forward

Dedicated tech tab for exocraft given the amount of stuff needed just for base functionality esp the headframe stuff for minotaur there needs to be a place to put these that does not take up general slots exocraft are the only things in the game that do not have a tech tab and this is a massive design defect. Arguably the way tech works in and of itsself is defective by design because tech items cannot be stored in a freighter container when not in use If they could be moved around between inventories this would be a non issue as loadouts could be changed as needed although if tech dismantled with a 100% resource recovery this would also be a nonissue. alsthough upgrades aren't blueprints so there is also that issue so moving tech items between inventory's is really the easiest fix since it is just a matter of changing the items properties to allow it to go into other slots

When the Power transmitter is placed the player will enter a name for the transmitter. All transmitters sharing the same name will be on the same network and share their connected power grids. This is my idea for a reasonable solution to the problem of EM hotspots being spread out and usually more than 1000 units from any meaningful mineral deposit. Given it is impossible to run power lines between two bases a dedicated base part for linking multiple power grids seems like the best way to work around this. Additionally this concept can be expanded with a point to point matter beaming base component which will provide point to point linking of supply pipes allowing silos to be positioned in one central spaceport and receive minerals from miners located in remote locations. Revamp of the hardframe minotaur. Basically eliminate the headframe upgrades they are kind of problematic because they take up 4 inventory slots on the minotaur despite being external components. I feel like they should bring full ship customization with chaning parts and everything but it should be achived through a huge investment of time and work. I would propose that ship customization should be unlocked when you fullfill two requirements:

  1. Ship chosen for customization must be S class

  2. Must unlock a ship manufacturing/customization room in freighter which has a large down payment and costs a bit to maintain and change ship parts (think of gta los santos customs)

Also, all interchangeable ship parts won’t be available instantly. To obtain ship parts you have to discover their blueprints to manufacture them. These can be obtained in many ways like:

  1. Rare chance of obtaining part blueprint through scrapping ship. (Part types will depend on the type of ship you scrap)

  2. Through achievement a milestone or expeditions

  3. Raiding Facilities and nexus missions. (Missions will give you a random part from a random ship type while raiding a facility can let you pick a random part from a specific ship type)

  4. Rare chance of obtaining blueprint from destroying pirate ships. (Again, blueprints depend on type of ship destroyed)

Again, ship manufacturing room will cost a fortune to install and will require constant supply of materials to operate. It will also cost nanites for every part you decide to change. I think this is a great idea to introduce customization and personalization without hurting ship hunting since it would take grinding to customize your ship and a looong time to unlock every ship part blueprint. This would help prevent the mindset of “I will just get a c class shuttle cus it doesn’t matter I will customize it anyways” since it will be more practical to grab a high tier good looking ship because the ship will be kept the way it is for a while and it can be customized sooner if you decide to seek for a higher class ship.

I would rather a slightly less grindy system, such as when you scrap the ship you get all the parts but single use, and cannot swap, must actually build it from scratch. This ship would then be a c class no matter if it's exotic or anything, and you would need to invest more currency into upgrading it. I just think the system you have outlined would be about as tedious to get all the parts as finding a near-perfect ship

The flag preventing underwater structures from being placed above sea level needs to be removed. It is a pointless and arbitrary mechanic which makes no sense and prevents players from building functional surface accesses to underwater bases. Any structure designed for the pressure of deep ocean would be structurally sound and able to be placed anywhere Although it is possible to connect standard rooms to underwater buildings there is a bug that arises doing this where the player will pass through water while climbing down ladders something that could be avoided if vertical tubes could be built up above the surface. In the grand scheme f things the building restriction here has no positive effects on game play but is somewhat detrimental and generates wonky ness for larger bases that excist above and below the surface of a body of water and should be fixed. Frankly they should have taken the subnautica approach to universal building modules instead of separating them like they did given the above and underwater modules use basically the same mesh but the underwater come with free windows.

So, crazy idea, maybe a ship builder where you have to find or trade (with Nanites) for blueprints to unlock parts for your ship. But would cost massive amounts of Units (bc your building instead of buying or locating broken ships) to build depending on the class and ship type.

@gray hedge I think the change is just an aim on the developers behalf to do more technically. Not that there was anything wrong with how it looked before, I suppose for a smaller studio looking at a Triple-A production there’s an impetus to compete in a sense “well, if this game has this then we should also have that” kind of attitude e.g. corpuscular raise, volumetric clouds, tessellation. Though I think it primarily stems from a desire to innovate and incrementally improve their work.

men, every update my mind ends saturated with new ideas... just imagine this... A huge leviathan whale spawns behind you while you're on your business across the space. and starts chasing you, like the anglerfish.. then, a new mini game begins and you need to follow a scape vector to avoid beign eaten. If you can't manage to complete the mini game you'll spawn inside the Leviathan with your ship broken. A new procedurally generated flesh-maze environment, where you need to find resources (from previously eaten ships or even, frigates as this thing should be very huuuge) to repair your ship. You need to do as quick as posible because a strong toxic environment damage is killing you slowly. New dangers like parasites and corrosive fluids could be spawn inside this thing and so...

Monolith of Temptation

This structure is a new Monolith in the form of a challenge tower. A rare structure that does not spawn often, so other in game structures will likely need to be explored to hint at the possibility of this structure existing nearby.

Upon your physical first contact with this Monolith, the size of this structure is supremely tall, sleek, and mysterious. However intimidating it may be at first, it calls to you. Daring you to seek entry.

To enter, you must use a key found from excavations or risk spending resources. Spending your hard earned resources is more expensive compared to the key, but is more accessible.

You now have access to the first of many floors. Now in the interior, you can look up to witness the grand beautiful design that seems to extend into infinity. You question if the structure you saw outside is really true to what is inside.

More importantly, the first portal activates. Standing just beside the portal is a smaller monolith, holding information about your objective to complete when walking into the world beyond the portal. Which upon completion, you will be returned to this small monolith to claim a reward. But it does not end here. The monolith entices you more, it speaks with temptation.

"Creature of the skies, you have claimed your reward. Should you desire more, seek the next portal and your riches will multiply. Should you desire no more, you will keep what you have earned."

Now what is the risk? Yes you may continue completing portal after portal, but if you fail to complete an objective, or die. You will lose all your rewards. It is your choice to go as far as you can, and risk losing it all, or leave richer than ever before.

So upon completing a portal, you will go to the next floor where a tougher challenge awaits.

Now this content can be spun a ton of different ways. Share your ideas.

TL;DR
A challenge tower with increasing difficulty each floor. Varying objectives for each challenge. Rewards based on the number of floors completed, where death or failure of the challenge means you lose all the rewards.

For the sake of convenience, the player can enter this tower as many times as they want, provided they have the keys or resources necessary to enter at all.

Sentinel Freighters should be made more interesting.

You will be able to destroy specific parts of the freighter to disable it, while sentinel interceptors continue to spawn.

You will have two choices when this happens. To destroy it as a whole and get large amounts of raw resources as well as some extra tradeables, low reward and get it done with, or to enter the freighter and fight through large amounts of sentinels, sentinel mechs and walkers to get rare and valuable resources. High risk high reward.

You will find sentinel tech mods, possibly prototype sentinel weaponry, valuable minerals (such as activated indium) etc... Until you get to the end of the freighter where you will be able to disable sentinels for the entire system and some nearby systems but at the loss of a very rare sentinel item, or grab the item and escape the freighter, allowing it to re-activate and call in reinforcements.

From there, you will be unable to destroy/disable the freighter, but if you fight through enough interceptors you will be able to escape with all your new items.

Also, the rooms in the freighter will be procedurally generated per system.

Please make predators more aggresive and deadly in survival mode (preferably adding giant predators). It would 100% make exploration more rewarding.

I wish that continental planets looked more continental.
What I mean by this is that, especially when looking down from space, (By the way, the clouds seen from space could match the clouds on the ground) The planet's landmasses look more like a giant semi-connected archipelago. It doesn't look natural.
I'd rather that the landmasses look more like solid continents separated by ocean, with some islands dotted about.

I really wish everyone saw the same thing, such as storms, AI frigget ships, and AI locations. Sorta ruins the immersion when my friend says “woah that’s a big ship” and I’m just confused not even seeing what he’s talking about. Or when he’s dying by a storm and there is just no storm for me :/ ALSO CAPES!!! When is the visual capes issue gonna be fixed? And the ships that fold, ships don’t look folded for anyone else but yourself :’)

I wish that Hello Games add flowing water on planets. Waterfalls, rivers , or lava rivers on volcano planets etc. Also moving water on oceans, even in storms the water stays perfectly flat.

If you could also select multiple parts and copy them all at once and move them in 3axis and parts stay in exact position to one another when they where duped. And you could snap them all to other unmarked part with Active autosnap option That would speed up the building by a huge amount

Adding an option to autosnap to snap the part in specific angle with option clock or counter clockwise (90 ,45, 30,15, 10 degrees for example) . With that option creating perfect circles and other shapes from parts would be fast and easy

I would like to see the DISABLEMODS.TXT file removed and replaced with a launch options flag
-enableModSupport. The problem with using a text file to enable and disable modding support is that it causes issues with steam as this file is replaced any time the game is verified or moved and sometimes on update. using a launch flag will persist through updates and verification as a user setting and in the event of a crash or mod failure a launch flag can be disabled just as easily as the current method but without the steam issues.

I propose the Signal Booster gets that function:
Placing a Signal booster on a planet records all your visits to points of interest until the Signal booster is removed.
Visiting a Signal Booster (even other players) provides the list of stored POIs and the booster can - given a nav chart - create a nav data to any stored POI to access later - or download the POIs directly into the players HUD.

You can place pins anywhere in space that you can return to at any time. You can organize them in folders, and they're also automatically sorted by system, so each system's pins are separate. In NMS, this can work by separating pins into system pins and planet pins.

I would like to see more lush planets with blue skies and water, so so so SO many times I have found the PERFECT planet, then see that it has red or orange water (bleh) and skies. It's horribly ugly lol. Also shouldn't paradise planets and moons all have water if they have so much vegetation?

I hope to little improvement the electricity. There are some base components with no wire plugs but even require electric power. This is very hard to use.
A power distribution board or flush plug receptacle, or some thing, an object to support power supply to nearby equipment is needed.

I think something like these would be useful building as electrical poles in the outdoors. (Electric poles can be useful structures to prevent people from lost a way. Actually, I myself built and utilized such a structure)

I think it would be cool if there was an aquatic update.
For example, the ocean would go deeper and the further you go down, the bigger and deadlier fish would live
Kind of like subnautica, but not that detailed or deep.

Making a forest/jungle planet would also be cool with really dense trees and sometimes a field so you could land.
Gas planets would also be cool, they could have stations where you could land (but not let you jump off) and stations near the core to let you collect valuable stuff.
Also full aquatic planets with stations.
(the new planets would be added to system that have not been explored yet)

Being able to customize your ship and multi-tool colour would also be cool.
I’ve seen in dialog with npc travelers that they have a multi-sword, that would give melee a use if it was added.

Some larger creatures would be interesting, like much larger than a diplo. They would just be for sights, but maybe could be killed with a ship.

Flowing rivers and waterfalls would add some nice scenery.

Being able to get near the sun with a space station teleported would be pretty neat aswell. You could get some rare stuff there.

Lights need an update. Specialy on consoles. Most light sources glow but dont give actual light and dont make the room brighter. In 3x3x3 wall cube you need to place light source literally on each wall and in center of the room.

I would like to see starship color customization using a similar editing scheme as the freighter. It could be accessed via the starship upgrade terminal aboard space stations.

Seems like your best bet is to make a fun decorative base with normal building pieces and furniture, and then a utility base somewhere else using the prefabs.

Settlement profit goes straight into your imperial Treasury, the squadron system could be used to create an army system, ground combat and space combat. Maybe even real fleet battles with each class of frigate adding a different combat bonus.

I think it would be cool if there was a option to move your character to the place it was about 1 minute back in situations where your character falls through the map.
I would also like to be able to upgrade the nutrient processor to be able to mass produce items / sell food in larger quantities to the food vendor on the anomaly.

Please also consider adding a feature where you are able to grant coop team mates access your inventory on your freighter with also the ability to revoke it.

I think it would be cool if you could board the sentinel freighters after you cripple their weapons and go through it like the derelicts until you reach a central computer or somthing similar where you could shut the freighter down or change its flight path into the surface of a planet and loot the wreckage while fighting off sentinel survivors.
