You can find a portal on any planet in any galaxy by using Planetary Charts (purple ones that say they find an Alien Structure) to locate a Monolith on a planet and then once you solve the Monolith's riddle (save before trying so you can reload if needed) and provide an offering it will guide you to a portal on the specific planet you are on

I also forgot to mention (in case it's easier for you) that you can also find a Monolith by using the scanner on the Roamer/Pilgrim/Nomad/Colossus if you have installed the upgraded technology pieces for the scanner on your exo (I think maybe the Tau upgrade is it but no promises cuz theres 2 tech upgrades for scanner and it's been forever since I installed them)

If they have multiplayer on while in their system, and I have multiplayer turned on too, and then I warp to them using portal glyphs, my game puts me into their game lobby (or another existing lobby if theirs is full, but that only happened once cuz it was a popular system during expedition) when I enter the system, so I use this method to join up with people without requiring them to add me to their 'friends list' on console or via friend code. I will admit, my method is a little out of the normal with everyone using friend codes and the Anomaly, but it has worked for me the 15 times I tried so far, so I felt it was a reliable method to keep using

I won't say you're wrong, but the only time I have had it not group me with people in my group (specifically when using teleporters/portals) was whenever I was trying to join/leave a populated session. Besides that one instance, it has managed to put me into their lobby every time, so maybe I'm just a bit lucky on that idea?

So it only works with multitool weapons that have magazines, ie - pulse spitter and boltcaster.

Fire a round and then reload, as it is halfway through reloading melee while moving foward, you basically spam that in that order over and over

It doesn't work on mountainous terrain, but the flatter terrains launches you forward across the ground at speed.

I think you can get pretty close to the center (around 5000) of any galaxy by putting the first symbol (sunset/jellyfish) in all the glyphs at the portal

You can set a waypoint in the galaxy map. The system will be listed in the station portal too (assuming you've been in the current system's space station).
Since you like that system, you can build your base there and then it will have the base icon in the galaxy map.

they're just not as easily customizable with mods or as fun to fly as regular ships in my admittedly worthless opinion

more annoying than anything. it would be cool if they were overpowered or something but they're not, they're just all looks and not much else

There are times where cheating (actual cheat codes or random glitches in the game) is totally acceptable, such as a game you have beat like 30 times (Nier) and is offline or a game where none of it matters cuz you restart constantly (Minecraft) and are in isolated worlds where nothing spreads to other worlds...but actual save editing is something I feel should only be used for instances where you really need them, like when your game breaks and you need to skip a quest step that you already did...but editing just to have better stuff or have whatever you want leaves no point in even turning on the game...

i believe there's systems for farming Living Ship upgrades pretty easily; two or three encounters in sequence.

the upgrades themselves don't need to be S class either, as they can be upgraded with nanites
