When you see a solar sail ship at a trade post or station, go into photo mode, and clip into the ship, and you can see the color of the sails BEFORE you buy it.

Well, from there it depends how you want the base to look.

I.E - i had a base from surface to cave, the cave surrounding the inside. And a ladder from top to bottom.

You just abuse platforms till they cover some terrain and build walls, usually shorter ones, to hide the gap since they don't move terrain.

You can get emeril from buying and breaking down ships, the other two idk

It’s a random drop, might take you 5 or ten ships

But usually I wanna say I’ll get some in less than 5

You don’t get all your money back in saleable goods but you get most of it back, sometimes they give you minerals as a saleable good, sometimes it’s activated minerals

You also get storage upgrade items if it’s an A or B class ship and you get 1-3 modules generally you can sell for nanites also

I think I get some from breaking down installed modules also if you have a free slot somewhere

The sentinels don’t attack you for hitting non-aggro npc ships in pirate systems, the freighter fleets always carry it, there are missions to attack freighters and fleets just sitting there waiting to be robbed which is about as difficult as mining

I would say you need a B class fighter with decent mods and phase beam for most of the missions to be pretty easy

It’s about 4 missions of go here go there then you end up in a pirate base system and you can start raiding

Well that’s why, its like my third day playing, haven’t gotten into expedition yet. What’s needed to play it and how do you start it?

You're supposed to get it when you rescue your first freighter, but I didn't and didn't realize it was a problem. Now I'm at the end and 12 hours in with one piece I can't obtain on my own now.

You start up a new save and choose community expedition. It's literally like the third thing you'll do in the game.

I would just start a new one and trade it to myself but I can't do that sadly.

It's normal with expedition content. It isn't super hard to do and can be done pretty quickly. I've mostly been goofing around which is why it's taken me so long. You unlock rewards that you can redeem in your other saves.

It's like a seasonal event that happens for 7-8 weeks.

It has a slightly different storyline than the normal game as well with different restrictions or additions to change it up.

After it ends your save turns into a normal save. You can keep playing it or go back to your old save.

When the next expedition starts you start a new save and get new rewards that you can reclaim on all your other saves. New or old.

I've found that the easiest way to manage a to-do list is to look at the updates over the years, and do the new content in the order of the updates, as they were released. It gives you structure, it gives you a list, and it's a list that you do in the order the devs chronologically created the content, meaning: less bugs. One you've got the content out of the way, then you move onto: Ship/Squadron/Fleet completion, then Multitool Completion, Upgrade Perfection, then a level further with: Catalogue Completion, Title Completion (and the Titles knock out another one: Lore Completion), and when you're finally done with all of that, set up a Stasis Device / Fusion Igniter Megafarm; a Nanite Farm; and a Unit Farm. Those are scaleable, end-game farms that only a handful of dozens of people have done. And if you manage to do all of that, a new update will be right around the corner, ready to corrupt your save file give you new content!
