nmscord_emoji NMS is Cross-play. There's no need to limit your group to one platform. In-game voice-chat also works cross-platform.

Since consoles don't offer in-game text chat, note that there's an option for in-game speech-to-text, but it's not very reliable for most players.

  • To join cross-platform, you need to add another player's NMS Friend Code.

Go to Network Settings > View No Man's Sky Friends List > Click "My No Man's Sky Friend Code" or "Add No Man's Sky Friend."

Once added, to join another player, you must select Multiplayer from the Title Screen.

[!] Even if Multiplayer is Disabled, once you join a friend, Multiplayer is enabled while in group, behind the scenes.

  • If joining another player, last location is not saved while in group. In order for location to save, "Leave Group" and save. Otherwise visit system's space station and save, so you may return to it. Or make sure to build a base computer at a planet where you want to return via a teleporter.

if you use a biofuel generator, you can extend the reach of your base, but you cannot connect the power between bases

I don't need storage augs, but I can tell you how to get lots of di hydrogen:

Warp to stations until you find one that sells di-hydrogen jelly. Buy all of it. Refine. Repeat.
