You will have indicators showing as long as you are in the same galaxy, otherwise you need to go to the anomaly and it will give you the option to warp to the same galaxy as them

Technically yess you should be warping as well with them but theres a glitch that happens often and either kick the player out of the session or they get drop outside of you ship as soon as you warp

You cannot sell freighters, only get other ones. Though, now that you have one, the pirate dreadnaught is an option. As for cool things, that is different for each player. I have MT that I like. Ships that I like. I have a base I like. You want cool. Start digging up corvette parts and make a ship unique to you.

Something that you might wanna do is just progress the story honestly, because once you complete the main game (which can go pretty fast if you just burn through quests) you can unlock a buncha rare things.

I personally own a sentinel interceptor

But there's a bunch of rare things like living ships.

If you wanna just impress someone with items, that's kinda impossible without discontinued items.

Like the item version of quicksilver before it was made a currency.

Even salvaged components produced from scrapping them can be given and sold, but tools themselves cannot be shared aside from the location they're acquired from. You will need to learn the glyphs to access them via portal. The Stargate kind, not a portal terminus.

Oh, you can do that any time. All you have to do is shoot at a space station in a system not controlled by pirates lol That's actually my favorite way to farm nanites I suggest pairing the knife with a phaser to keep your shields up between kills if you do that. You are about to unlock some nifty stuff tho.
