You can copy how many you want from the expedition terminal if you have enought nanites, but you don't have to end the expedition..

You can buy any freighter you encounter, as long as you have the money. You can rescue one that is being attacked and get that one for free, but it's only your first freighter battle that gives you that free option.

Literally just have the ship you want to trade active, trade for an NPC ship and then the NPC should be by your other ship, the other person can then buy it from them

Ships can be traded, from my recent testing it’s actually much easier to trade and more reliable, call it a revival of the old ship trading we once had which just includes the use of a NPC.

You are just limited to only the skin of the ship trading.

Regardless unique ship seeds like the one the phoenix has or any other unique ship such as the golden vector, boundary herald, switch ship ect, can be traded.

With some recent testing this seems to not be the case, I tested a few random ships purchased from a station and traded them to random players in multiple platforms, they confirmed with images the ship was purchased with the same physical design as when I had it.

From the testing it seems as if the old ship trading is back.

I should also point out that players no longer desync when the ship is exchanged to an NPC, when this used to occur it would be when the ships seed changed.

When you purchase a freighter you keep its frigates as well as your own (so long as you don’t have the max 30)

But no the NPC ships that land in it are not tied to the freighter they just land in the unoccupied pads.

Those NPC ships are tied to that systems pool of ships, you can get them anywhere NPC ships land, such as trade outposts or space stations

To build a ship you need a reactor of varying class, and at least one of each type of part from the same type of ship, such as the fuselage, wings and thruster, to get these parts you need to scrap a ship for parts, you can only scrap a ship for one part, (Currently can only scrap and assemble fighters, explorers, haulers and solars)

No purchasing a freighter will not result in you obtaining an NPC ship, you would need to purchase that NPC ship elsewhere or when they land in your freighter.

Ive just done twice, once in group and once out of group and they traded ok. Traded a ball hauler and an exotic over (same ship, slots n all on exoticat least didnt check hauler), however 2nd time, 1 of clients crashed after trading.

In terms of out of group yeh would see that causing issues, not tried alternative hosts, also from observation more than 2 player owned ships in a station caused a few issues with ships disappearing

Exit my ship prior to trading the ship to an NPC, then once traded I leave the MP session (as to not get booted back to main menu) and reload my restore point.

This removes issues with Multiple ship trades and having more than 2 player ships in a station, so long as the other player saves and reloads aswell.

They are not able to be found in game via the proc generator.
