they are minable on some planets, otherwise you can farm sentinels, collect the glass, open the glass and sell the modules

but that needs semi decent multitool and shield

which reminds me I need to find a decent planet to farm sentinels

Another method I believe is also refining runaway mould into Nanites, that's usually easier to get but is a lot more labour intensive because you gotta farm living slime and/or viscous fluid

They exist as an unrolled golden color once you install it into your techslot then repackage for transfer it becomes a gray icon, those cannot be traded anymore as they are rolled
