Regardless if you make a restore point before sending an item to someone you can reload that restore point if the trade doesn’t go well.

Yes, primarily after you exit your ship it will create a restore point, trade after that and if you don’t get the desired outcome just leave the group and reload, if you enter and exit ship anytime after you will of course make a new restore point.
