My go-to for nanites is
Runaway Mold Farming (if you trip over the balls)
Radiant Shard refining (which also comes with atlantideum and pugneum => runaway mold => nanites)
Killing an exorbitant number of sentinels and vending the weird sentinel tech mods at space stations for hundreds of nanites apiece.

Where can I find runaway mold ?

The balls are generated kind of randomly, but when you find 'em you easily find 9999 runaway mold in your inventory which can refine into the nanites.

I haven't quite found a rhyme or reason to the mold balls popping up yet. Someone else is probably more knowledgeable on why they spawn.
I find radiant shards more reliable, but you need to find a "dissonant" planet for them.

50, and they stack for 10. So 500 nanites per stack. I usually run around in an exocraft and fill the exocrafts inventory with 'em.

Wouldnt it just be easier to scrap trash ships? That was how people farmed nanites enmasse for a while now

Now that you mention it, that might work too.
Though if you want to scrap tech I'm more partial to killing sentinels until they're pacified then vending the sentinel mods that come from the purple glass.

They garbo tech you get can be resold

And occasionally there is good tech you keep

But that's just one way.

Class C mods from scrapping class C ships don't give a lot. The sentinel mods give tons more. In my experience anyway.
I've heard some people say it's profitable to buy the "suspicious tech" and "suspicious weapons" packages in outlaw systems, then use 'em to turn 'em into actual mods, then vend the mods for nanites.

You guarentee get nanites faster than killing sentinels and refining mould tho...

Like if i bought 6 ships right now and sold the tech id get close to 5000 or more nanites

Plus the units from scrapping helps you buy more ships etc.

Hello, I’m a console player with 50 hours so far. I checked the expeditions and was bummed that the first expedition had the golden vector as a reward. I searched it online and saw people talking about using a save editor, but I’m not on PC. Would anyone that has the save editor be able to trade me one?

I read that they only repeat the current year’s expeditions at the end of the year, not the ones from the years prior

You can get past expedition rewards with it.

so there's a method to the placement

Yes and no. Trading normal ships among friends through an NPC causes game to crash and parts of the ship change as well. But ships like Utopia Speeder, Golden Vector and Switch Rasa can be traded among friends without any crashes.

@mellow oriole if you need quicksilver for the items in the shop besides nexus then you need only about 3500 quicksilver to get you started. There is a glitch which let's buy all the items without spending quicksilver- look for it on youtube. Only items you can't buy like that are fireworks, mythical beacon, void eggs because the game adds those to your inventory which doesn't work with that glitch.
