There is a separate part that you have to destroy to get the walker brain so it’s possible you missed that

Lol I was in my friends game before he left the planet. We went and got him a 4 square supercharge slot sentinel ship right off the bat. Then had to get him a new basic ship when he had to install a hyperdrive 😂🤣

yeah, exactly that. Joining too early, or helping with actual storyline missions is detrimental to someone's save

No. It was a simple fix. Just gave him some ship ai valves to sell then had him buy a basic ship. It came with a regular hyperdrive and progressed the story immediately

Yeah, but I know people whose saves have BEEN that borked before

But it was confusing for a minute. He had just received the hyperdrive blueprint but couldn't find it in the ship upgrade menu. Took me a couple minutes to realize the sentinel ship won't have it cut its a sentinel ship lol. I'd been up for 30 ish hours lol

I've never see anyone's save get fubar before. Just lost because they skipped ahead or explored a bit too much before they progressed more

But those are all simple fixes

NMS is essentially an ADHD person's playground. If you DON'T get distracted & wander off-mission to do stuff, you're one of the rare ones.
Hence "Shiny stuff syndrome"
