Totally up to you. The forbidden Exosuit upgrades help health and lifesupport. The weapons are only upgrades for the boltcaster .

They drop from glass that drops from killing sentinels.
Its effect is same as u would go through wanted lvl 5. It marks sentinel pillar.

For future reference saving a freighter will create a quest in your journal. If you select it then you’ll have the quest icon showing on top of the captain’s head and you’ll know exactly who to talk to

yeah, that might be related. i'd suggest waiting till you have nothing being built, and also when the tooltip lower right of the settlers mission says you're free to explore.
you can cursor over it and store it, switch tool, cursor over it in inventory, and install it again on a free tech slot. reminder that forbidden aka sentinel weapon modules only buff boltcaster

They’re a general upgrade for your entire weapon system, which is also why you can stack them along with the upgrade modules specific to each weapon without overloading them

try to, goto space, open galaxy map, warp to the first system marked by the yellow pathline, the galactic core one. dont be in a group to avoid bugs with quest progression
for just items, cant sell them in the anomaly need to go to a space station
I don't think there is any galactic terminal to sell things at the anomaly. It sits outside the regular universe, hence its name 🙂

Maybe! As you progress in the game, the difficulty level drops. The real challenge is getting out of the initial 'hole' of having no inventory space, no income, and no resources. Being gifted valuable materials breaks that dynamic, and for many, can remove a significant portion of satisfying gameplay before they even have a chance to understand that this progression curve exists.
Important note: No Man's Sky is not a competitive game; one player's success has no impact to another's success or enjoyment. As such, this server's official stance on methods some consider 'cheating' - which would include duping, save editing, and mods - are all valid gameplay.
Certainly, players with all sorts of play styles exist, and not everyone has time to put in tens or hundreds of hours into a game. Some would appreciate being gifted valuable items, even after knowing they are artificially skipping potentially satisfying self-accomplishment.
Therefore: It's this author's opinion that the important part of both giving and accepting gifts is ensuring the recipient understands the potential gameplay/accomplishment ramifications. Some players could be best served by disposing of unrequested handouts.

what are some good nanite weapons for multi tool?
dont worry about the damage potential value you see on your multitool inventory. a great part of it is about gameplay preferences, after upgrades they can all shred. see below:
- scatter blaster: old fashioned shotgun
- neutron cannon: space shotgun, charge up, aoe blast, massive damage
- pulse spitter: smg style, mid range, chews ammo like there's no tomorrow
- boltcaster: dart gun, but after upgrades, it's devastating
- plasma launcher: grenade launcher
- blaze jav: sniper

- scanner range, doesnt matter atm. you can max that out with upgrade modules on any tool.
- a tool is an upgrade if 1) you love how it looks 2) it has more slots than your current one(s) 3) it has more supercharged slots (the purple slots) revealed than your current one(s) / is of higher class than yours
supercharged slot layouts are sought for, especially those in adjacent slots, compared to ones that have spread apart supercharged slots, making these last ones probably a bit more suitable for all rounder tools
SC slots buff whatever's installed in them by 1.25x - when it comes to weapons, rule of thumb, first SC core weapon tech, then modules if using more than 1 SC for that weapon. set by class, number of SC slots is C1 B2 A3 S4.
and finally, "looks first" because we can upgrade any tool, and any supercharged slot layout we may get works anyway
so the looks are the most important? 🤣 ill keep that in mind,

see image: every buried ruin should have more than enough keys and the chest
i'd suggest going to the center of the ruin, they should be popping on your visor. try to switch to target sweep mode then back again to regular visor mode first

yeah, for example, through missions at the mission board agent, or defeating pirates, or even just gifting specific items to most npcs of that race
losing a standing point isn't a big deal, neither is being hundreds in the black - can even reset it back to neutral by using a single item (i.e. forged passport)

you'll naturally get one, eventually by just progressing through the game you'll be introduced to them through rescue battle events. they're pretty useful

until you take ownership of a freighter all freighters rescued from pirates will be offered for free. personally, i think that a freighter asap is better than holding back for another later on.

What should I look for in a first freighter?
It's this author's opinion that for a first freighter, any freighter will do. If you like the one you're looking at, great, but getting a freighter ASAP is more important. Stats don't matter at this point, and for a few reasons:
- Early on, a character won't have the resources to make full use of a higher class freighter;
- All freighters have the same base building dimension limits;
-# Freighter base can be migrated over to a new freighter, when we decide to exchange. - Matter Beam freighter tech is a huge QoL feature: provides remote access to freighter core cargo from anywhere in the universe and, when freighter is in the current system, to any storage room built on the freighter base;
-# Freighter research is unlocked save wide, and we can package installed tech/modules at any time when in our freighters. - Fleet expeditions can give some nice loot, and run even when game is turned off;
- Units won't be a problem later on, when we want to exchange to another freighter.

yeah, that's gonna require some unit investment, each scanner costs like 5M - there's cheaper ways to get salvaged frigate modules. a little bit of piracy or mission boards for 4 or 5 SFM for matter beam isnt going to hurt

sometimes you might have events during expeditions that require your intervention/decision, but a lot of the times it just goes uneventfully for you, and you just get to debrief them when they get back to get the rewards

summoning freighter is free, but you will eventually require hyperdrive tech upgrades to be able to summon it to non-yellow star systems. charging hyperdrive to warp using the freighter just requires warp cell/warp hypercore as usual.

additionally, solar sail ships are cheap, have decent stats and inventory upgrade limits - could even build one using the fabricator. perhaps look into corvettes as well?

Class and Technology space are the two most important stats I think. The said solar one have the longest base hyper jumping distance and fast.

in short:
- either goto station, save+reload, fly out, wait for 2 fleets to spawn nearby, check frigates - rinse and repeat
- or do that, then pulse away from the fleets after you check them out, about 10s away, then exit pulse and brake, wait for the next fleets to spwn in.
- prefer low conflict and high economy tier systems
how often and fast do they spawn?
Usually entering pulse, Space, will get some jumping in right near you after you exit
but depends on the economy of the system
actually, it's explorer that has the largest hyperdrive range bonus out of all ships. that said, sentinel ship type comes with a different hyperdrive tech that by itself adds 600LY to base range, which largely surpasses any other ships "base" range. any s-class ship can be upgraded to 60 tech slots with storage augs/units. explorer is still gonna outwarp sentinel with a maxed out build though.

but in the end, the differences between ships innate bonuses arent huge - even a explorer can two, even one shot enemy ships
sure, haulers still handle like drunk cows on ice, but that's the thing, they dont really have to be really maneuverable
They are just based on the number of times you jump and the local economy
Not all of them. 20% of all pirate systems have them permanently without the need for multiple warps
nah, 10% of t3 conflict and 20% of outlaw systems always trigger the pirate freighter rescue battle on every warp in, if pirate freighter spawn conditions are met

yeah, that's the basics on it but, we can actually expand the default build bubble of 300u around the base comp, up to 1000u in any direction, to get hotspots further away 🙂 @timber pine

Note: Save+Reload within the base boundary, if expansion is not working.
- Open the Build Menu near the Base Computer and select a base part. Make sure you edit the correct base on the part's info panel.
- Walk away from the Base Computer until the Build Menu displays the Base Out of Range error (±300u).
- Walk back until the error message disappears (inside base boundary).
- Aiming towards your goal, place a 'building' part in front of you (each part expands ±50u). Decorations may not work to expand.
- Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 until you reach your goal, or reached maximal distance.
- Max expansion is ±1000u away from your Base Computer in any direction.
- A maximal distance of ±2000u can be covered with the base computer dead centre.

yeah. c-class frigates with less than 4 expeditions completed and low-ish fuel usage are good choices, cheap and they can even become stronger than natural s-class hires in the long run

The ROI for completing expeditions is well worth it, but when they fail it sucks

Yeah, worry about fleet expeditions when you aren’t worrying about credits
they can give stuff like storage augmentations, salvaged frigate modules, units, stacks of various materials, but yeah, you'll need a bit of investment first. units arent hard to make, there's lots of ways to. e.g. even just scanning fauna, buffed with s-class scanner modules, can be very rewarding
Is merchant guild more likely to appear than the other two? I visited several stations and most of the time there was the merchant guild

It's 1 guild per galaxy map region, just keep warping from region to region, checking 1 station per region till you find the guild you seek. See embedded image.
Expand the star system info panel to see region data.
Ignore Outlaw and Abandoned systems as these don't have Guild Envoy NPCs.

vile brood planets arent any more dangerous than non-vile brood planets. vile brood planets are the only planets you can find juicy grub in, and that's needed to spawn the field mini boss brood mother. defeating it has a chance to unlock character customization options

Kill the armour on it's legs, it'll stop moving. Stun it with a paralysis mortar or the blaze javelin mod and it's just a sitting duck.
you could equip a ship you dont use/like, then goto the starship outfitting terminal in the back of space stations, then salvage it either for units (actually items, upgrades), or (if it's a ship type that we can build with the fabricator) extract customization module. customization modules aka ship parts, can be used to build a ship of the same type (you'd also need a reactor, which sets the ship's starting class, and is obtainable from any ship upgrade module shop or from other rng sources like mission board rewards

yeah, this too - if there is a sentinel pillar building in the system at least
corrupted large spiders can be tough, kinda depends on how well equipped you are when you go up against them. in general, combat in nms isnt super hard
remember, can only have up to 3 upgrade modules of the same type installed at the same time. if you're low on nanites, consider selling them for nanites. also, there's a strategy to farm salvaged glass that some of us like to use: escalate to wanted level 3, and then hold it there, by leaving a summoner alive at all times, and killing off its buddies.
I recently built an agricultural facility of sorts on my freighter. When i interacted with the module, it said i need an agricultural expert from a gek controlled system. I'm at the space station of a gek system and how do i find one?
hiring a base crew npc happens through their specific secondary quest. those trigger off expanding the base secondary quest, which is triggered by progress in ghosts in the machine

Am I correct in that attacking freighters will make you lose standing even in outlaw systems?
correct yeah
it used to be that if you only attacked freighter cargo pods it wouldnt drop standing - but that has been long patched

@arctic ridge though tbh, standing is easy to get back these days; imo, especially so after your character has met the requirements to spawn pirate freighters, since then you'll be able to use the systems that always trigger the pirate freighter battle on every warp in: 5-8 (iirc? or was it 7 - anyway) standing points every "run" you manage to rescue npc freighter, which takes like 2minutes to do with some practice and a decent ship tech layout. alt, there's forged passport: item that you can use when you're in the negatives (possibly even hundreds in), it just restores standing back to neutral. lastly, you can raise your gek/korvax/vykeen standing above 100 standing points (min for max rank), way above. so iow, it's possible to first farm standing above that, then go commit x acts of piracy till standing is back at iow dropped to 100 points, farm some more standing, do more piracy in equal measure...
I think I'm going to destroy my standing with Vy'keens and reset it with the Forged Passport

Can I clear New Beginnings/Space Anomaly/Atlas Eternal?
In short, no.
- New Beginnings signals completion of the main storyline.
-# Select it when you don't want to see any mission related tooltips lower right of the screen. - Atlas Eternal is an endless mission that signals completion of the Atlas Path.
-# Don't have to keep doing it if you don't want to, not unless you want to max out Atlas words. - The Space Anomaly doesn't truly have an objective after the interactions with the main storyline missions.
-# Core warping can make it update from one objective to another, but it will just return to the same as it was after that's done.

well, it's not going to damage your gear, it's more like a wormhole, that will just warp you far away from the current system. if you already visited the station of the current system, you could just teleport back after black hole warping

I have seen a lot run the infa-knife, but you should choose what best fits your preference.
agree with mayumme above; infra is really op, lots of players use it. also, atm anyway, with corvettes, phase beam is really op, because using 6 phase beam parts adds to damage, when normally only 3 count with other weapons, + the s-class modules from spce stations and the anomaly tech ofc. in any case, they're all good after upgrades and supercharged slots tbh.
infra knife - minigun, shreds them like butter, audioclips at really high fire rate;
positron ejector - shotgun, hits like a truck when close range
phase beam - beam laser, shield leeches
cyclotron ballista - amazing vs shields, prevents ships from boosting
photon cannon - who doesn't love a good blaster

yep. remember that pirate freighters can only start spawning after completing 2 rescue battle events in a save, and you own a freighter. pirate freighters are always free

if you were going to supercharge boltcaster, or mining beam - and you had more than 1 supercharged slot to use - you first move the core tech in, the base tech, what actually allows you to use something in gameplay to a supercharged slot, as a priority. if you had them, and wanted to use more supercharged slots to buff e.g. boltcaster or mining beam, you'd then supercharge upgrade modules. upgrade modules that you buy from space stations for example

This is just an example of adjacency and supercharged slots. Note that supercharging bonuses always beats adjacency bonuses. Therefore, to maximize tech stats, split apart tech to utilize supercharged slots, as they will yield superior results over maintaining perfect adjacency.

Is X-class better, stronger than S-Class?
It can be. Put simply, S-class serves the "Install and forget, I'll get something OP anyway" approach, while X-class the "I want to max this out" approach but may take more time investment to get the "stronger than S-class" rolls.

It's largely based on how many slots you have already, in my observation. No idea if anything works differently for corvettes.

How good is "neutron cannons"? I see a fully upgraded neutron cannons on youtube with 170k damage at 4 SC slots. But it deals only 3.5k damage towards a sentinel robot (4 star).
While my blaze javelin with 3 SC slots deal 3.7k damage to that same robot, and if lucky, it can deal 14k damage.
What's the best neutron cannon feat ever shown in here?
To be honest I don't think it matters ... there is no way that any weapon does the damage listed in the weapon stats or mod stats. I think they cap it to keep you from one hit killing everything.
once you hit a certain threshold with mods most weapons do an ungodly amount of damage that never seems to be reflected properly when you hit a target ... they do however have unique hit patterns, and min/max distance ... so for me it boils down to the best all around hit pattern, which seems to be neutron cannon close, and blaze javelin for distance.

Possibly avoid using the "transfer cargo stuff from your old ship to your new ship" system I guess. One possibility is that you backed out of the menu and then went back in to claim/buy the ship, which would have sent everything back to your old ship

You can build a Storage Container at your base once you have the blueprint for that. The secondary missions "Base Computer Archives" and "Expanding the Base" give you some or all of their blueprints respectively, though the latter requires a bit of progress through the main story

For most systems, yes, they follow the standard cooldown. For 20% of Outlaw Systems and 10% of High-Conflict Systems, no, they skip the cooldown and spawn one every time they're warped to via starship

Warps can be to any system at all, it just counts warps since your last battle, if 5 or more then that part is satisfied. The other part of the cooldown is 3 hours of cumulative unpaused gameplay time since your last battle. Once both are reached, your next warp to any inhabited, non-black hole non-atlas interface system triggers a battle.
To be able to encounter Pirate Dreadnought Events, you must both own a freighter, and have encountered at least 2 freighter battles so far
are the freighter battles a 20% chance regardless of 3 hour cooldown in outlaw systems?
Only Pirate Dreadnought Events follow that, and it's 20% of Outlaw Systems, not a 20% chance
If you don't qualify for Pirate Dreadnought Events to occur yet, you can't make use of that way to skip the cooldown
As in every 5 outlaw systems, there is 1 system that is always fighting.
So whenever you warp to that system, you're caught in a rescue event.

I'm having trouble shrinking my companion via the egg sequencer. Materials that supposedly shrink it instead grow it to its max size. I'm aware of minimum size caps on certain fauna but afaik mine is not the smallest & the egg tooltip categorizes it as 'average size'.

Kill pirates. You can sometimes see mission board missions to hunt pirates that have you go out and fight them

whats the best way to find a portal on a planet nowadays, i went through 13 planetary map things and still cant find one been quite a while since ive been having to look for one so im not sure if the method has changed or if theres a better one

there aren't any charts that directly locate a portal
you must locate a monolith, then answer it's vision correctly, then interact again and offer a local race relic (Gek Relic, Korvax Casing or Vy'keen Dagger) to locate a portal
To locate a monolith, spam 3 alien charts, don't visit the incorrect structures

I believe it's given from getting the credentials for one of the crew members from the datapads hanging around, then interacting with the second main terminal
il run back through and make sure i get em all couldve sworn i got em, im currently at the records terminal where i got it on the last freighter but this time it only lets me click the leave option and its the only option that shows up

A technology blueprint that can be unlocked at Iteration: Hyperion aboard the Space Anomaly. It is required to reach green star systems.
It's installation requires Cadmium, which is from Red Star Systems, which themselves require the Cadmium Drive to reach. The Cadmium Drive's blueprint is unlocked in the same place, and it only requires Chromatic Metal to install
Ive been trying tò get a pirate dreadnought for a while now, but i cant get them tò spawn. I have a freighter, my world has more than 3h playtime on It, and i warped back and Forth tò this system i saw this youtuber Say that It has a guaranteed dreadnought fight spawn.
The only thing that comes tò mind Is that my world Is in "creative" mode, does that affect the spawn?

That is not how probability works, it's a 1/20 chance for S-Class
also, you only need to warp between star systems, not galaxies

Quality of Life: Summoning exocrafts via on foot Quick Menu
- Requirement: At one of your bases, build all the exocraft geobays you want to have for later use. They can't be built on the freighter base, other than that pick any base you like.
Then, in the future, when on any planet in the universe, the actual summoning part is done using one of these methods:
a) Build the portable Exocraft Summoning Station on the current planet, use on foot quick menu to summon desired exocraft(s), delete Exocraft Summoning Station.
b) Build the Orbital Exocraft Materializer freighter room, summon freighter to current system, use on foot quick menu to summon desired exocraft(s).
c) Install Exocraft Summoning Unit exosuit tech, use on foot quick menu to summon desired exocraft(s). Requires access to purple star systems.
