Systems nearby that were discovered by other players are often placed in your discoveries page
The canisters dropped by Sentinel Quads should still drop Quad Servos, while those dropped by Sentinel Hardframes should still drop Hardframe Engines
this shouldn't change between difficulty options or anything

The closest thing is the Thunderbird Landing Bay, but that doesn't work between multiple habs, only as an exit/entrance

I have confirmed that they still drop Hardframe Engines in Abandoned Mode. Note that there is somewhat of a bug where mining the canister using the Mining Beam does not give the Hardframe Engine, this issue is not exclusive to any specific mode/option

Sentinel Hardframes look like the figure on the right. They never give Quad Servos, those are dropped by Sentinel Quads

What's with taking off from the Anomaly jumps you to a different system?
This occurs when you have completed a nexus mission that took you to a different system
if you have someone aboard your corvette, a similar animation occurs but you are placed at the origin of your original system

Somewhat of a bug, moreso old "salvageable scrap" worlds still existing internally, just no longer telling you on the resources, and having scrap for some reason

i saw someone share a % chart earlier that I believe said exotics have a 5% spawn rate in outlaw systems. does that mean if i camp out at an outlaw trading post I will theoretically see an exotic more often than a regular system trading post?
S class has a 5% chance to spawn. Exotics are 0.3% chance in every populated system. 1 in 301 spawns

A reddit post posted a way to get a S-tier pirate dreadnought, by listing the portal address to the system. A standard post beneath said that in order to get the freighter, just "pulse around in space" until it spawns. Does that mean I just engage the pulse drive for a few seconds, and pop back out, and if I'm lucky, it will spawn when I pop out of pulse? Or will it spawn while I am using the pulse drive?
Some systems always spawns a pirate dreadnought, regardless of the warp/waittime requirenment irrc
Otherwise you have spend 3 hours in game and do 5 warps since last freighter battle
this system doesn't, it seems, I went into orbit, no dreadnought, been pulsing around, in an dout of pulse drive for 5 minutes, nothing. I warped away and back, nothing. The post is 2 years old, maybe the random system has changed enough that it no longer spawns.

If this system is not one of the 20% of outlaw systems or 10% of high-conflict systems that always begin a pirate dreadnought event every time that they are warped to, then it follows the cooldown of 3 hours + 5 warps, both since your last battle

none are guaranteed to be any specific class, despite clickbait saying otherwise
When you restart the battle (by warping away and back to the system), the Pirate Dreadnought will roll it's class again

As good as any other ship really, so it depends on the upgrades you install mainly
they are the most maneuverable ships in the game that don't have the weird sentinel ship handling
they also don't have bad stat bonus % ranges, but these are magnified with the upgrades you install
as a sentinel main I take slight offence lol

Hello everyone, I just started no man’s sky a couple of days ago from 6 year hiatus, I loving the game and I’m having a great play thru, I mean I accidentally ran into exotic on hour 11 (on hour 16 now and luckily I barely had enough money to get it.) There's no caps really, besides that you can only add up to 3 of each type of upgrade, blueprint tech doesn't count towards that limit

Red/Green/Blue worlds, they are only found in non-yellow systems normally and usually have color filters, as well as sometimes having colossal flora/minerals #nms-commands message
you'll probably want to get yourself a corvette which more or less has made starships and most investments into them obsolete

When you go through the portal, ||you get two choices: either to reset the simulation or to refuse. Choosing to reset the simulation opens a path to four pedestals, each representing a galaxy type that you get sent to upon choosing. They mainly have different biome probabilities #nms-questions message, with most players preferring the lush one due to it having more lush worlds in it's yellow systems. After choosing the galaxy type, you are spat onto a world in that galaxy, with all suit, ship and multitool tech damaged but not destroyed. If you choose to refuse to reset the simulation, you are spat out onto a world in the same galaxy that you were in before, but with no tech damage. Both choices end the main story and give the blueprint for Remembrance.||

Corvette refiners are also 3 slots, may or may not be before you can get the freighter ones or larger base ones depending on how you progress.

You can still reach all galaxies in NMS by warping into the galactic core, which takes you to the next one in the list (and damages your tech in the same way)
There's also 3 featured bases at the Space Anomaly that are in galaxies other than Euclid Galaxy. You can also reach galaxies by joining another player who's there via multiplayer.
Teleport destinations that are in galaxies different from your current one will say which galaxy they are in

camera keeps drifting to the right, ps5. I know it's not the controller's fault because I go in the inventory and it doesn't drift there
Going through a black hole takes you to another system on a semi-random part of the galactic disc, 5k ly closer to the center of the galaxy. You're always sent to a yellow system, which always have a space station, so you can always reach that and teleport back to previously visited stuff if desired

Are you using/have interacted with a corvette?
It's a known issue related to the rotation being doubly imparted onto the player, also if the player dismounts the corvette while it's rotating then they permanently inherit it's rotation direction

Oh, you cannot build them aboard corvettes. You can however built the Refiner Unit along one of it's walls, as you have always been able to. It acts like a Large Refiner.

Yes, those are the procedural upgrades
they act as a sort of "battery-powered full protection"
they protect you from that hazard completely, for a set exposure duration that doesn't scale with hazard strength

Can't, without timing it yourself (or using a Save Editor). The variance is not very important though for S-Class ones

There are 10 storage containers, you can build one of each in a base
They are all the same, but you can only build 1 of each per base. They're shared storage everywhere they're built

things get weirder when comparing stuff. like, here several things fail to make sense to me. 1) green/red/grey icons. Sometimes both are green, sometimes both are red, sometimes some of them are also grey. What is being compared to what? 2) Both ships have no upgrades but the NPC one has a huge portion of their manoeuvrability bar in yellow. What does it mean?
The only bar that has any real meaning is hyperdrive range. The graphs are not an accurate representation of ship capability at all

Yeah, the bars can basically be ignored, and honestly the numbers too if either have any tech installed at all above nothing (like how both of these have one shield upgrade)

The numbers of course tie with their functional meaning, but it's not easy to compare two ships when one is more upgraded than the other
An example, people often equate Damage Potential to DPS, but they're not anywhere close to the same thing
well it saves when you save and reload and I have tested this so I would assume it works if you quit to main menu

A value calculated by the game using multiple variables, including damage innate bonus. It's not a damage ceiling, and it's not how much damage any installed weapon system will do either.
Current tech inventory also factors in, albeit differently depending if multi-tool or starship.
- On multi-tool, only the strongest weapon system installed is included;
- On starship, all installed weapon systems are included.

Growing and selling
You can plant it and harvest it endlessly, it sells for more in non-outlaw systems (counts as contraband)
technically growing plants is building, you "build" or place them on a growing bed thing

this issue was introduced in 6.20, and has yet to be fixed
theres nipnip buds and thees gek nip. its made from nipnip buds just dont know if we can make it or ifs only found

geknip is a different item that we can't make, we can only buy it
it's similar to Vy'keen Daggers or Convergence Cubes
plants can be "made" when you plant them to grow

The right option exchanges your current ship for it, deleting it permanently I believe
The left option should equate to "Add to your collection" which keeps your previous ship available to summon at any time

alternatively, hunt for corvette parts (salvageable scrap), they sell for millions plus you'll also get an occasional artifact with them. But then you might find yourself unwilling to sell the parts %)
It does spawn on your freighter if you have less than 5 undamaged ships
how many millions and can you sell aeron parts? I'd assume not

It has the speed and handling mechanics of sentinel interceptor ships, but counts as an exotic ship for it's stats
It also has fully unique sounds for taking off, landing, turning and boosting
you can try looking for S class on outlaw systems
Yeah, finding an S-Class ship (or upgrading one to S) isn't too hard. !faq-nanites in #nms-commands has some excellent ways to make enough nanites to upgrade a ship to S.
ive found dissonant planet and farming upgrades and ships from there
currently sitting at 6k nanintes. me other problem are defences in exo, not sure how to improve them
You could add more tech slots to your suit
(done by just clicking tech slots when given the option to unlock slots)
im doing it now as i didn't know it earlier and was upgrading storage
You can place what you wish to prioritize in supercharged slots to make them more effective
is there any upgrade for Defences system? i installed 3 s class upgrades but there is no tech to actually boost
You already installed defence upgrades

there's also sentinel upgrades which have a bunch of random-ish stats they choose from, one of them being suit shields
which gives them adjacency with the defence upgrades
you get them from opening Salvaged Glass that you get from defeating sentinels and collecting their dropped canisters

there's no separate deflector shield tech for exo, it just exists there by default

to clarify, any upgrade adds its value just by existing in the tech slot, adjacency bonus is just a bit extra on top
How to get rich on nanites. Buy fishing pole upgrade, try to get the cosmetic for catching all legendary fish, and keep throwing purples back into the water. I'm getting rich at my failure of catching legendaries -_-

No idea. Over 9000 ? Who knows. Depends on your luck. Derelict freighters require you to pay 5 mill per pop, or stack up on the scanner/chart things though.
Either way, my agenda with fishing isn't nanite farming. It's to get the cosmetic. The nanites are just gravy.
They are another type of starship, they can do basically everything any other type of starship can do
the differences between the types and what they can do isn't very large at all, especially when upgraded properly (besides a few fundamental things like speed, the way they handle and a few other niche things)
nah you can get infinite if you put the scanner in your personal refiner. all you have to do is remember to take it out before walking through the first door. and you get a free one every week after you buy your first scanner and do the derelict freighter
Bonus with corvette - especially early game - you can have all your storage containers with you anywhere you go, as well as necessities like refinery, mission terminal, cooking station and even able to grow plants if you are doing specific cooking or similar.

In later game when you have a freighter and the matter teleporter and can just grab stuff automagically from freighter then I find corvette loses a bit of it's use.
Still nice to have refiner, mission terminal etc on hand. Plus if you do coop its fun to fly together.
you can get a freighter any time, the story gets you a freighter pretty easier. but a freighter and an S class freighter aren't the same thing
Another drawback with corvette that's a bit more subtle is that it can become a hassle to run through the corvette anytime you want to dismount and go to planet. It's a bit quicker to land regular starships. Also I find regular starships dock faster into space stations and the anomaly. It's a minor thing, but during long sessions I get a bit tired of "get out of seat, run through corvette compartments to exit"./

Yeah, I'm guestimating. I once built all the squares on both axis, and ladders up high. Tried to find the screenshot, but not sure where it is. Either way, the freighter base area is mega big. So big that if you fill it all in then it will likely cause frame/lag issues for you.

in build mode, do you see that there's a text in top left that says "color" or "colour"? you have to aim at a part to change the color and then you can apply it to the entire Corvette if you wish
By using the recoloring feature of base parts. Look at them while in build mode, then press the "recolour" button
this can most easily be done in the corvette editor, where you can also recolor the entire corvette in a few button presses

20% of outlaw systems and 10% of high-conflict systems have a property that makes them always begin pirate dreadnought events every time that they are warped to, ignoring the cooldown

Hiya, is it still common for floating waterfall islands to move after you've built on them already? If you make sure to teleport in the same way each time can you deal with it that way? I'm thinking of putting the base computer underneath the island so just in case it moves I won't run into the issue where the computer gets consumed by the island and inaccessible. But I can't really find a lot of updated info on how building on them works now
They move, there's not much you can do except not build on them

They are fully static, and their position is deterministic
they should never ever ever move due to the math involved, at most I've seen them disappear and count as destroyed on someone's save (which means it eventually comes back after enough interactions) due to being in the same class of objects as trees, plants etc

Hello! I have a mission for a specific planet where I need to kill 2 predators. I've discovered all the animals except one that apparently lives underground? Despite constant searching I've yet to find it. And sadly the creeps that pop out of the ground when you harvest eggs don't count.

well no. because a character can't repeat an expedition. but yes if you simply mean doing expeditions to claim starship and exosuit upgrades on your main save. The important thing is to not apply the upgrades during the expedition - this keeps them an inventory items that can be traded out the expedition at the end, but only if the expedition was started from a save at the expedition terminal of course.
this expedition didnt have exosuit or starship inventory upgrades but it did have a bunch of multitool inventory upgrades that you could not apply and bring out

yeah, like i said, there's still a rng layer on it, just gotta keep at it. that said (this wont work for all biomes because not all biomes that can have water can have settlements), if you get a settlement to a state that has a s-class fishing pond, it will force all fish caught on it be rare or legendary; this makes it incredibly easy to drop the legendaries of the biome the settlement is on, to the point that really no rarity bait is necessary.

i'd probably suggest the trade terminal and appearance modifier for your base, then start working towards industrial research tree, left side: mineral+gas extractor, supply pipe and supply depot, and electromagnetic generator (after these are researched, research survey device multitool tech)

it's a prebuilt room, that you can build a door to and go inside; iirc it's not free, and has to be unlocked with data. landing pad can be unlocked for free via base computer archives secondary mission, that will also unlock the first storage container
you pick
does it affect future or barely or not at all
leads to the same outcome, progress into the next stage
probably hoarding too much, and probably keeping stuff you dont need. feel free to post a screenshot of your exosuit/ship cargo inventories to get some tips
early on, you really only need to keep mission items if any and for as long as they're required, and materials/consumables for survival

yeah, that works, that's actually what i usually pick
after space anomaly mission progresses into the next stage, you could do what you want to do: sidetrack or continue questing. personally, i leave atlas path for later, i dont focus on it early on - i wont have the needed journey milestones to progress it all the way anyway, and so i just focus on the main storyline - search for artemis, artemis path

The main storyline The Artemis Path is composed of these missions:
- Awakenings
- Alone Amidst the Stars
- Ghosts in the Machine (requires progression in Expanding the Base, a secondary quest)
- A Leap in the Dark
- The First Traveller
- Patterns in Time
- 16 / 16
- The Purge - 16 warps in any direction. It does not require travelling to the core.
- New Beginnings - Like the Space Anomaly mission, this will forever remain in your Log tab (even after this quest's completion).

atlas path and artemis path are just the names we give to the two main storylines of the game

no need to concern yourself with black holes now - you'll have "access" to them, see them in the galaxy map eventually anyway, even without having the helper mission i talked about

Warp to many different purple systems until you find a world that lists Lithium as a resource

Also, icons on systems that have a black hole should now appear on the galaxy map passively
it doesn't matter, it wouldnt have done you any good anyways - and you'll be able to actually see black holes marked on the galaxy map later, every single one of them, there's 1 per region
I found one already that had aggressive sentinels and was too hot so I have lithium but it won’t let me track it in the galaxy map

the artemis path doesn't have any extra requirement in order to progress it, the atlas path does - you wont have those requirements met yet, so no point focusing on progrssing atlas path because you'll just hit a wall and will have to "backtrack" to go do journey milestones

it could be multiplicative, or additive, it varies. for example, with scanner modules, it's multiplicative after all previous buffs
