Refiners can lose their contents if you unload them in any way
Supply Depot contents are constant, and continue filling up/being full regardless of anything
they continue filling up while the game is closed etc

I'm doing the expedition and I'm up to the bit where you get the colossus, but when I try to make the geobay it says "Cannot Build // No Edit Permission"
How do I do it?
If you can't place your geobay, try placing it at the starting processing plant. If that doesn't work, go offline and walk far away from where you were (reporting bases no longer works)
I'll give that a go, just gotta get back to the processing plant
Hmm.. I was hitting this problem. I just flatten out the area and it seemed to work after that

if you travelled really far from one, try checking your on foot quick menu for an option that says return to waste processing plant
Why my staf have difrent color to others?
@meager kayak that said, going completely offline will prevent other player bases from downloading, so if you keep walking after doing that you'll surely come across an area that doesn't have any other bases and you'll be able to build the geobay

basically, pick a direction that you dont have any other player base purple icons, or less of them. then walk say 200u, try building again. if you still get the same error, walk another 200u and try again. and so on.
red systems don't have those space stations?
95% of them wont. in short, any system in the galaxy map that doesn't have a gek/korvax/vykeen icon, wont have a space station.
where do i find uranium? trying to setup a copper mining outpost with the auto miner things
Any irradiated world, they're not too rare
You'll see Uranium listed on their regular resource list upon scanning them
check catalog&guide, do you have uranium unlocked? could locate a planet with it using that function

hmm, then try to save+restart game completely, then it should display as disconnected from ODS; at that point, it's really just a matter of moving until you get to a spot where nobody uploaded a base at - disconnected from ODS game is unable to download more bases, and there's a limit to how many bases it could have cached

You must complete ALL of phase 5 to unlock your ship

do multiple stellar extractors produce more resource?
basically getting multiple rooms doing the same thing, but wont buff how much resource each stellar extractor gets

@soft anvil i'd strongly recommend using gas extractor mines on planetary hotspots instead of stellar extractors; far more reliable, and much faster, with the advantage of being able to add more storage
delete the geobay after you spawn colossus, to get the build materials back, so you can build it again later if/when needed

I honestly didn't know you could do that I already took the payment instead of the ship
hyperdrive range on freighters is really easy to get actually - there's a few hyperdrive techs that buff range by a lot, like 800LY a single tech. otoh, if all one does is summoning freighter around, neither range nor warp fuel efficiency is required.
wait, if this is A what's the requierement for it to be S
so i noticed some things, like the large refiner, will snap in places inside habitat rooms, but i can not seem to get hydroponic trays to snap to make them look nice and even. the small ones will snap the the outer squares, but the large one wont snap anywhere
requirement for s-class to spawn is not be in a tier 1 economy system, otherwise it's just a matter of rng drop chance - it'll have a s-class icon, up to 4 supercharged slots revealed, and possibly up to 20+34 (tech+cargo) slots (starting inventory size)

Should I settle for an A-class Freighter, or keep battling RNG for the S-class?
Mostly up to the player, but in short, the differences between A-class vs S-class Capital Freighters (including Pirate Dreadnought):
- 3 vs 4 supercharged slots;
- 50+100 vs 60+120 max inventory upgrade limit;
- Slightly lower ranges vs Slightly higher ranges to base bonuses;

How do we find “paradise” planets?
Just by warping around and finding them. A freighter with a scanner room helps. On-Foot Combat difficulty option disqaulifies more from being called paradises the higher it's set, with basically none existing at max
it's probably easiest from a freighter with a scanner installed, look at planets with star bulb and check for weather that doesn't suck and no sentinels,
yeah, they might not snap inside large prefabs, only cuboids. you'll just have to free place it probably, or just build a cuboid shack nearby, like an annex, if you really want to make use of snapping all the way
you might still have predators though
"Paradise Planet/Moon" is just the biome name override given to lush worlds that have no storms and low sentinel activity, that also aren't the infested/ruined subbiome

we can however use places like reddit, https://nmsce.com/ etc to document the portal coordinates to worlds we find and use those to search for ones found by others
typing those portal coordinates into a portal in the correct galaxy takes you to that world (though purple star systems cannot be reached until "In Stellar Multitudes" is complete
can always buy some - t3 eco system trade terminals and pilots sometimes have a few hundreds, same for ferrite dust.
i usually only see maybe 30-60 at a time in terminals
not sure that "abandoned paradise" worlds count as pradise planets in any case
t3 eco systems will have more, larger stockpiles

woah did yall know if you get to far from a mission structure (like jumping through black holes) you can restart the mission using closer structures to your current location
just that HG did not allow for their name to be overridden to Paradise Planet/Moon when those features are both present

Note that this video refers to the "temperature rating" thing which is misinfo, the characters in a star's stellar class after the first one have no meaning or correlation to any features of it in No Man's Sky

They can appear in all conflict levels, they are just rarer in the more peaceful ones
They replace the battles of all outlaw systems, most high conflict systems, some medium conflict and a few low conflict systems
Also, 20% of all Outlaw Systems and 10% of all High-Conflict Systems will always begin a Pirate Dreadnought Event every time that they are warped to, completely ignoring the cooldown
Im also guessing the glitch that allowed you to leave and rejoin a system in order to restart the battle has been patched then
Loading a save that was created after the battle started will always despawn the battle
there was a glitch for a short time where it did not and the class would reroll too, but that was patched long ago

You must make it surrender. To do that, you must destroy it's warp drive, as well as either lower it's health to 25% or destroy all of it's Anti-Freighter Cannons
typically you can knock ou the shields and then make sure the ycan't leave
take out the thrusters in the back first so it cant get away then take out the big laser guns

or... you can luck out and find emeril from a buried cache, multilpy it by chrom metal to get the amount you need...
You need Chromatic Metal to install the Cadmium Drive, then you need Cadmium to install the Emeril Drive, then you need Emeril to install the Indium Drive
but typically yes, you do it one step at a time
And yeah, there are obscure alternatives, like that and dismantling installed upgrades for Cadmium

it used to be that if you save, exit, reload on a planet, you could then summon even a broken ship to you, once after the reload, as a sort of failsafe. you might see if that's still true. you'll need to do repairs right after

I'm having a slight issue on PS5 where if I'm on foot, if I just let go of the controller, the view starts drifting slightly to the right but it only happens when I'm on foot. If I get in an exocraft like the Colossus, there's no drift. Anyone else having this issue? I would think it's just stick drift from the controller but it's weird that it doesn't happen if I'm in a vehicle.

It's related to corvette rotation imparting on the player strangely after they exit it, this bug was introduced in 6.20

it only affects the player character, not their camera or any other modes they go into (ship, exocraft etc) so it only really affects first person on-foot
in third person your character still rotates but no biggie
hopefully this will be patched soon
I did notice when I land my Corvette on my freighter, I don't turn with the Corvette, so good to know it's not just me and there's nothing wrong with my controller lol
saving and reloading or going to another system should temporarily resolve it
beaming while the corvette is actively rotating is the main thing that causes it, so wait until the corvette has stopped moving/rotating before dismounting

It's more that you are being rotated twice, you rotate the way the ship rotates but twice as much

you can also warp to a galaxy from inside the freighter if you want
You can summon your freighter from an infinite distance away using the Quick Menu, which does not use hyperdrive fuel

You could do that too, but it would not come with you this way, you would still need to summon it on the other side
your primary starship will still be damaged
just that this circumvents needing the starship to have a working, fully charged hyperdrive that has the right drive installed

Mouse inputs would make sense at 60fps, as that's technically 30fps of actual frames

Can't really be done, unless one of the existing sensitivity options affects it
but even then, it will still have the acceleration/deceleration
well from my own seeing there is no effect at all

- If you began your save in Creative Mode, all blueprints are already unlocked, including the blueprints for all Multi-Tool and Starship weapons. You can purchase upgrade modules for these weapons from the tech merchants aboard space stations, each one offers them at different classes. S-Class upgrade modules are not rare, just slightly expensive. You can restock their inventories by either saving and reloading or teleporting away.
- Yes, mainly from either the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion (must still earn Quicksilver to purchase them, even in Creative Mode) or from certain missions. The mission "They Who Returned" unlocks access to a terminal where you can unlock a lot more options, that mission comes after the main story and doing another thing #nms-commands message
There's also Under a Rebel Star and Dreams of the Deep which unlock a new option each
also lifting the seal of a Harmonic Camp for the first time unlocks another backpack option, and there are some customization options that are tied to either killing Vile Brood Queens or certain fishing milestones

In 2022, Endurance released that completely overhauled freighter base building
It was overhauled many times before that too, I believe before the NEXT update in 2018 it used the Cuboid Room system

They did when they were first made ownable by the player, at least shown in the Foundation trailer

Back then, we had no way of scanning entire systems to discover them, and even no way to mass-upload so they had to manually click that one to upload it or give it a name
call me lazy but I want to be able to send frigates to orbit planets and build a complete scan of all the fauna, flora and minerals without ever touching foot to soil.
I just want the ability to pick a planet that I've scanned and have my freighter warp right in front of it/above to bring me there

Customization is account wide. So if you were to buy something from the quicksilver merchant, all your characters have it. Some stuff you have to claim from the vendor on another save, like starship trails. Titles you get throughout the game don't carry over I believe, only ones that you buy from the anomaly.

in terms of your original question. so many things, inventories, have been normalized, that idon't think its possible to know without testing. i'd assume that, since tech inventory is "new", they would not have bothered with taking wing size into account.

Go search for some building guide, or just try every piece you have

Im not 100% if im understandibg correctly what you are asking but: Every ship type (haulers, solars, etc…) can be any of the four avaible classes( S,A,B,C) you can find rhem with a random chance to be a certain rank - usually determites by the wealth of the system. You can upgrade the rank of you ship on space stations, so an C class ship can become an S class. If you want to build an custom normal starship you need to right parts for the right type of ship. The class of the built ship is determites by an core that you can buy from spacestations

Not im my knowledge, you cann get ship parts from scrapping starships at the starship outfitting terminal, there you can choose to extract the eirher the cockpit, wings or thrusters. Cores can be gotten by missions or buying

It could also be the reason why there are so little planets in those systems because if we take the sun as the example, when it runs out of hydrogen the core will start contracting and the outer layers expanding tremendously which would lead to the sun itself swallowing the planets that are near it

but the class of the freighter does not affect the rank of the upgrade you get if you destroy it
There are only very specific achievements that are unavialbe to you if you do this.
Generally story missions, and mercenary missions, have a significant chance of breaking in multiplayer.
Making a corvette should not break in multiplayer afaik

try to watch the expedition trailer. What I will say is that this expedition is not a good representation of what no man's sky is.
If trucking is extremely appealing to you, even if the cargo might constantly fly out of your flatbed, then you can start an expedition save.
Otherwise I recommend you start on normal mode. You can change difficulity throughout your journey after you boot up the save.
Additionally if you want to start the expedition you can easily return to main save

it's not a way to turn a profit if units are your only concern
it's a decent way of farming freighter upgrades and that's about it

The bait you use and the depth of the water you're fishing in are the only things that have an effect
deeper water = higher chance for rare fish

You can fix the brain first then interact with the other thing. Doing it the other way locks out fixing the brain.

hi everyone, os there a bug with sentinel walker or something? I've tried several towers, got to level 5 but the dude won't show up, I really want to have the conflict scanner but the damn thing won't give me the brain...

Bugged, its under the terrain, all too common of a problem.
Usually have to move to a different spot and fight the waves again and hope it pops up that time.
I've literally hit the mountain limit digging up all of the soil but he wasn't there
so next tower I should stay away from the tower itself?
I guess ive never really fought all the waves near the tower/pillar thing, but the more rugged terrain on some planets seems to make the problem worse.

Hello! I just started playing NMS again and seem to be having a problem with structures not loading in properly, therefore not having collision. It happened with a minor settlement, and now again with an abandoned building. In both instances, I flew off of the planet, then back again, quit to main menu and reloaded, and straight up quit the game and opened it back up. And it hasn't worked to correct the issue. Is this a common problem, and is it fixable?
I am on Xbox Series X, if that helps.
When it comes to the visor and scanning, do non-colorblind people have as much trouble distinguishing anything in that view as I do? 🤔 It is great for the items and structure markers, but wow is everything else just a uniform washout.
Same happened to me and I'm told it is a recent bug they are likely working to correct.

The small amount of stuff I've thrown in that waste disposal plant was so not worth the effort. Are there any worthwhile rewards for that activity at all? I mean for hauling stuff across the map for 20mins in a colossus.
Look for waste depots with your scanner, you'll get big deposits of the valuable things
More scrap recycled = new parts for the colossus
When you take the brain from the ship it should have the "probe conscience" option that sends you to the monolith where you head to the usual center piece, then that should have an option to repair it where it goes through the dialog and gives you the fixed one, then head back to the ship and plop it in.
So is it not letting you even interact with the monolith?
If "that other thing" is a pillar on the monolith with a purple effect and noise, then you've engaged the autophage/atlantid version of the korvax monolith that won't let you fix the brain
I took the brain, probed consciousness, went to the monolith
But I am not getting the rpair the brain, and I am not getting the fixed one
It sends me to talk to the interaction pillar with the runes, that gives me a weapon, then the whole thing shuts down
and it goes back to the 'probe the brain in your inventory'
Let me put the steps:
Probe brain
go to monolith
interact with pillar
feed the runes
interact with top of monolith
select a dialogue
get sent back to pillar
get weapon
am told to probe brain again
repeat to infinity
It'll just go throught hat whole thing with a new monolith and give me a clone of the weapon

Wonder if some other mission is messing with it? I know part of a quest does tell you to interact with the pop up pillar but that was a one time quest deal.

Should be marking the top with the sentinel ship icon and not the pillar, even though that pillar just screams "touch me" when it pops up.

It only would if that trait is at the end of the list, though of course the stats it adds would counteract that until then. It'll be replaced by something positive eventually
just use a different multitool and ship before jumping, and never repair it
Derilect freighters also give repair kits if you take the emergency resources and stuff at the start, so you can get a lot of you're farming a derilect
Autophage terminals also sell repair kits for void motes

With freightwr you juts summon it to the same system and matter beam does the rest

clap the hardframe and next up a walker should appear

Why am I falling through the ground in one of my settlements, and how do I prevent this, and will I die if I keep falling? I am on permadeath so got scared and used jetpack instantly to go back into the overseer office

I summoned my colossus and after entering and exiting it the ground became fall-through-proof again
They can be, yes. They are used to catch certain fish in certain biomes. It's not guaranteed, and you can rarely catch them without the special lures, it just increases the chances

is there a way for my corvette to constantly display all the bars instead of it occasionally displaying 4 or 2? im talking about the damage potential, hyperdriver range and the other 2 stats
