There is not, not without mods on PC
Though the Scanner Room can be placed in a corvette-class starship or planetary base using glitches I believe, or of course mods
if you're on PC, I know of and actively use a mod that adds this function to the Mission Radar

All other biome minerals (except Basalt for some reason) refine 1:1 into Ferrite Dust
im asking because i have noticed i am often running out of ferrite dust and i lowkey dont wanna constantly mine rocks manually

Apart from buying them from trade terminals, there aren't any real ways to automate dust for that, except maybe constantly throw rusted metal into your exosuit refiner constantly

Not automatically, Curious Deposits are a good planetary nanite source when you find them
curious deposits?
They are big Fungal balls that you mine for Runaway Mould to refine to nanites, you can find up to 20ish balls per deposit
I believe they are one of the main nanite making methods described in !faq-nanites in #nms-commands

Not really, just have to find the right planet for them, their icon on planet is of the bright yellow type
They are only found on 1/3rd of all worlds, and are a "3 star resource" which are quite difficult to find even on those worlds

Using a fully upgraded Exocraft Scanner is usually ideal, or riding a flying companion and using the Analysis Visor
Worlds that have Sac Venom or Metal "Fingers" do not have Curious Deposits

Wire one end of the switch to the power source, and the other end to the door
This makes the switch toggle the door when used, opening and closing it

A door's default state is open, so if it is closed then it is being powered by something via Electrical Wiring

Either get lucky with the terminals or upgrade a lower class staff
Basically same as any other MT with extra steps
I would recommend that you back out of the terminal interface completely after every two tries, because things get wonky after that
It's not terribly hard to grind 85k nanites needed, though the fastest to get that amount would require like 100m capital (most likely less than that needed, just me being cautious with the numbers)

So far I've been just looking for the closest mineral hotspot without looking at the tier but i think wanna try to optimize a little bit more.
Also what do you guys suggest for the structure of the mining outposts?
for hotspots, afaik it's mostly about getting a lot of movement speed
it's random so get to as many as possible
so just "scan, if not the right mineral or low tier, go far enough and repeat"?
you don't have to be at cetre of hotspot to see if it is the right mineral, but you have to get close to see tier

what about the base structure? So far im doing a very simple network of three excavators (one being in the hotspot center and two others besides it) connected to four silos
you don't need a big setup to get alot of minerals.
Do consider that the excavators have diminishing returns after something like 4 or 8, but storage containers always store the number they say

I'm not sure if it's after 4 or 8, so let's asume 8. when putting down the 9th, that one will extract so much less even at 100% efficiency that it is almost not worth putting it down

So the difference between ranks is how many extractors you need before you reach this 1k/h, C takes 4, B and A takes 3, S takes 2
you can also make a tower with an excavator on each floor, so each of them will be at 100% efficiency
However, this limit only applies to extractors connected to the same storage network. You can have as many as you want and not suffer too much diminishing returns provided each set of extractors are connected to different pools of storage

you can with free placement, I think, but it is much easier to build walls and then a floor/cieling

i mean i wont go for some insane extractor numbers because i already use 3.5k+ ferrite dust (which cant be automated besides a rustmetal farm) per outpost due to the amount of metal plating the silos and extractors need
ill probably go for 4 extractors stacked on top + 4 silos in a room nearby

It is yeah. I think the position for 100% is almost impossible to find, so 97% or even 95% would be fine
I usually put down 9 supply depots, as that gives close to a full stack of anything I need

19 is the max on a single network (approx one full day of extraction) anything more than that, I build a second network

For small amounts that is perfectly fine
on your freighter you can have unlimited refiners, up until the part limit. They don't need fuel, and if you get a setup that gives you a stack of rusted metal you have to refuel your exosuit refiner many times. Additionally a single refiner cannot hold more than a stack, and caps out on how much can be refined.
I don't have a big setup, but I have 18 refiners.
This means I can devide a stack by 18, and also the melting time.
But for small quantities you will be fine

The openable storage crates are blue, orange crates cannot be opened
And some type of crate isn't very obvious about it showing if it is opened or not (the lid lifts up by like 2 inches)

i was able to loot a few crates from the first one
the second one i couldnt open the crates but i didnt think much of it cus i thought it was the one i already looted
but the 3rd i was 100% on a different planet and had the same issue

You go to an alien monolith, look for this purple interface that will pop up if you have finished the autophage questline. You just follow what it tells you to and you get the opportunity to get one
U could dig the ground a little. That could fix it (but do it under the building not from the inside)

Read on capital and pirate freighters, you will need to own a regular freighter before dreadnoughts will start to spawn

IF you mean terrain regenerating - no, it will regenerate eventually
Best practice is to never build underground or excavate terrain for the base

Only Korvax monoliths have the interface / pillar spawning those multitools

So is parts hunting supposed to be a miserable experience? My save has around 80 hours, I have over 100 types of parts, and still I don't have enough to make what I want

You could use auto pilot step away from your cockpit and use a scanner to mark them then fly up to them and shoot with the photon canon
I do this. Still it takes long to get something good
I frequently get the same pieces I already have or ones which I don't need

I recommend you go to a low atmosphere planet that has salvageable scrap and just go in a direction till you find them the reason I say low atmosphere is that your jatpack moves better and if you got the upgrade for recharging in the air you'll be moving like sonic
It will take a little longer than I think you will want but it is a quicker way

remember that we can use parts we dont want (most of them anyway) to barter for parts we want at the corvette workshop (advanced modules)

When I tried that I wasn't very successful
it depends on the parts you use to barter: you'll see that some add more % to the overall % to success at barter
So if I really want a part and can't get it just keep hunting and then trade what I don't want for the one I want

It came to my mind while I abused duplication glitch when building my Corvette that at that point I could just be using creative
in short, if changing difficulty settings would disable achievements, it would tell you so. that said, creative basically makes it so you dont have to farm corvette parts, they'll just be fully unlocked in the workshop build menu

there's some modules that apparently still arent available anywhere/arent dropping
ballast tank, coolant distributor, fuel cell, plasma core, shielded joint, high-energy ducting
and are only available to creative difficulty saves - but other than those, and the expedition rewards (deadeye cannon, aeron* parts), can obtain all of them you see on the build menu
best/can also use #nms-commands these days, just below #nms-questions on the channel list

the only achievements you cannot do in creative settings are survival's and permadeath's reach the center achievements, which ofc makes sense. everything else can be earned with creative+creative-like settings. in short, if you're currently playing a normal mode save, it wont matter a bit. plus, you can just set difficulty settings back to normal after you're done

i've seen some players reporting various kinds of issues with them, mostly helios. pause, discoveries menu, lower left of the screen, is the connection to ODS server active?
i tryed in a clean game from pc and ps4 and i have the same problem

i'd suggest getting that back up yeah, then retrying

yeah, it just really needs an active online connection, but there could be other factors impacting your ability to connect to it (e.g. home network, failing to resolve dns, country of origin imposes blocks). anything else just let us know.

in short, there's multiple routes to find a sentinel ship - have you seen !faq-interceptor command? type it in #nms-commands , i'll recommend doing the harmonic camp route at least once per save

Make sure it isn't an uncharted system, or that the planet doesn't have gold or rusted metal as resources.

That's just how technology damage works, the chance for technology to damage increases with how low your shields are
so even if you still have shields u can have tech damaged?
there's also a difficulty option that scales this even further, so on Survival and Permadeath it's even more prevalent
Seems 50% or so could be a point but im sure others have seen different.
Spaceship shields can be recharged anytime so if you see them getting low just feed it something to recharge.

You can get it during "In Stellar Multitudes" if you encounter a Waterworld as your first purple star system (which you do get to choose)

If you lost where that is, you could donate them to Explorer Guild envoys for reputation instead
yes - one of the symbols in your Analysis Visor will look different - a chest symbol - dig to it and then you can slot the keys in to get an Artifact

Nah, the Tower's S-Class is locked behind a Lithium requirement
That's not a requirement for progressing it though
That's optional, and can be put on hold until the mission is complete

That's normal, the monolith you locate will be on the planet you're on if you're on one
and therefore the monolith will locate the portal of that planet
can i teleport now or have to collect glyphs

You can place and claim a Base Computer at the portal to reuse it later by teleporting to the base (does not require a Teleporter to be built at the base)
i havent build a proper base anyway so i will shift all my things near the portal it self
You can have up to 400 bases, so don't worry too much
using portal i can get S class multitools right (increase chances ig)

what happens if you force your internet off, go to a planet and place a base computer at the exact coordinates a base already exists? (you cant see the base because internet is off but you can learn its coords and go there offline(
You only ever see your base, the other person only ever sees theirs, assuming both are uploaded

What is Space Combat set to in your difficulty settings? Are you through the story mission Ghost in the Machine? Note that the time in warp does not count as play time for the freighter timer
I finished artemis story and iam playing on relaxed.
Open your difficulty settings, look at Space Combat. What is it set to exactly?
Cant check. I lockt those settings to keep me from cheating
If you set it to none, you will never see a freighter battle
If you did not, one of the 2 criteria is not met
But acording to google its set to low. (I play on relaxed)
Then you have not met the time since your last freighter battle, or the warps since your last freighter battle, or both
Then iam just gonna set down a portal/base computer in a system next to the target system (target system gives me class s pirate dreadnought) so when i do trigger a battle. I just autoload last save and portal to that base i place down.

I checkt google and got a glypth adress. So
At most there will be a 5% chance of it being S class. All ship/freighter/tool spawns are random chance based on system economy. In this case, like many, Google is wrong.
Not even a little. You can get a glyph address to a specific look for a freighter, but not for class
Additionally, if you're after a pirate freighter you have to already own a freighter or they will not spawn

You can find specific multi tools with glyphs, because class is determined by the cabinet (does not apply to staff tools, they're different). You can find specific looks for ships, and use that to roll for class, either by reloading your non-corvette save and warping again in the case of freighters, or just by waiting in the case of normal ships

you dont have to get your Freighter that way - you can just fly and board one of the boardable ones, go to the Captain, and buy the Freighter
obviously free is better, but if you're finding yourself softlocked or something, Units can solve this problem
It used to be that when you got Atlas Sceptre from Quicksilver Merchant, the supercharge slot layout would be randomized. However on my fresh PC permadeath save it seems to not be randomized. i'd suggest just moving to a diff system, and using the "eliminate haz flora" nexus mission type to find your own graves without needing a traveller; see !faq-portalglyphs in #nms-commands and method C for more details

Assuming you both have the capability of multiplayer, yes
Once I was standing on top of someone's Corvette and they got out of the Anomaly with me on it, but once we got in the other side of the warp I was in a system I had never been remotely close before, on my Corvette and no sign of other player
The only time I saw other players in a world were in a quicksilver mission that gave 1400 coins. There were lots of players

You don't have to unlock R/G/B systems, only have the drive. You can taxi others to those systems. Purple systems are locked behind a quest. You can't even see them until you finish the quest

You don't need to get back to where you were, but it will be within 2 jumps from your starting system, and on the gamazy map visited systems will have a circle around the star

yeah, these still exist, game generated, ready to claim base comp, with a flattened area around to go along with it. basically, a feature from times past
when we couldnt simply just build a base comp anywhere we wanted, or when, later on, we were on the other side of the portal and couldnt build one (aka portal interference)

a radon hotspot you mean? remember that 1) survey device pings with the direction of nearest hotspot, even when it says there's no hotspots in range; 2) we can expand default build bubble from 300u up to 1000u in any direction

we couldnt drop and claim a base comp, couldnt teleport out, couldnt summon freighter in
if we wanted to be able to teleport back to that address, we had to find a wild base comp
or we just custom waypointed the system from discoveries and warped there
No base, no carriers, no settlements, no multiplayer, and, for many people, no(t) able to start the game because their servers were too unreliable at launch 😛

It would have been a lot easier if you posted what the others are so we could guess by process of elimination. I don't speak whatever language that is, but I believe that's "Boost", which governs the speed you go when you hold down shift in a starship.
vesper sail tech is unique to solar sail ship type, and its stats are +80% pulse engine efficiency, launch thruster auto rechrge (when ship is parked and active), +10% maneuverability and +15% boost speed (when you hold shift or B/circle)
Hi folks! I just start this game, and I ran out of launch fuel. I have dihydrogen and metal plates, but I do not have an option to craft the launch fuel. Also no uranium on my planet. Any suggestions? Or am I missing something with crafting?

You may have a specific crafting tab open instead of the "All" one
you can get flamethrower upgrade modules from some space station exocraft upgrade stations, but it's mostly good against bio lifeforms iirc
You should know the blueprint no matter what, it's taught to you very early

How close do you have to be to a monolith to detect one with the exocraft sensor? Are there other ways to find them besides happening upon them by chance?
If you haven't restarted after enabling it, do so
You can directly locate one by using the quick menu option unlocked by having the Radar Power Resonator installed onto the Exocraft, or by using Alien charts

Why is it not working? If it is not, you may be in an uncharted system, which do not have monoliths or any other inhabited/built structures (besides portals)

We cannot destroy Sentinel Pillars, and it is impossible to permanently change the sentinel level of a planet outside of changing on-foot combat difficulty options

If it were salvageable scrap you would be able to use the geology cannon to destroy and collect it but for salvaged data if you can't get close enough to have the 'collect' option pop up then you can't get it :/

Are the ships you can find on the purple crystal planets any good?
Sentinel ships? yeah
They are basically fighter with more storage (it caps at 120 instead of 100 for fighters), has the fastest in atmosphere speed and scraps for quite a bit more money than other starships wrecks (c class start at 20m, give or take, while other wrecks, after fully repairing tops out at maybe 30m at S rank, Frequently below 10m for C class)
imo they're the best for early game since you can recharge any component with those crystals
And they also start with significant hyperdrive range, a blessing early on
They're also a great way to easily get a TON of money at the start
even later, im sitting on almost 100 starship ai valves from sentinel ship hunting lmao

Class mostly dictates how much tech slots and cargo slots they can have, as well as their stat ranges, but they can be upgraded with nanites
Many players hunt for S rank because it's an S but generally speaking, S ranks generally don't mean much without the tech upgrades to go with it

Same way as you upgrade cargo slots, except you click on an empty tech slot first before committing
This is true for every type of slots that has cargo and tech (exosuit and freighters follow exact same rule)

The best way to avoid contraband scanning is to teleport to one of your bases from a outlaw station and then teleport back to a normal space station using the base teleporter, much faster and no scanning risks
And I guess I could just run away from the Sentinels. I got caught with a forged passport and had to fight Sentinels. Seemed like they never stop coming so I ran
Once you upgrade the ship some you could just fight them too which is what I did.
Goes for 5 waves then kill the capital ship.
Alternatively you can use a second ship to hide your contraband, and don't use that ship fly

The outlaw mission pay alot of nanites. Got 900 from a really easy one
Repeat until you have desired amount of nanites. The base nanites rate for this method, after you have the pirate stations listed on your space teleport, should be roughly 100k an hour

I personally wouldn't recommend it just for the nanites, the emergency scanners are too expensive for the nanites. On a good freighter, you get maybe 3000 nanites across the entire freighter, which is about one or two pirate stations worth of suspicious packages

Corvette construction is different than building construction, they are built out of parts, not manufactured on the spot like buildings are
You can buy basic parts with units from the terminal itself, but it offers very limited selection, for the rest you have to find them
E.g the famed phase beam turret can only be found or traded with other found parts

Rare space anomaly. Some give rewards if you fly close to them, others need to be shot, others don't give anything and don't react to being shot. They're just there.

Hiya, so I'm resetting my starbirth mission at a set of coordinates for a ship. I already did it once before and got the living ship I wanted, and this is my third egg (I've completed the first starbirth quest also). This time, though, resetting the mission next to the coordinates didn't work. It kept sending me to the same ship 9 hours away. So I went to that ship and claimed it, and I'm standing here and resetting - only now, the coordinates seem to be all over the planet. Why might it be different this time than the first time I claimed a ship at coordinates? That first time, all I needed to do was stand at the coordinates and restart the mission, and the crashed ship turned into the living ship.

I think I did find my mistake. I must have seen it with my visor and locked it in, yeah. Is it possible to lose that information eventually as I explore other points of interest in other galaxies the same way I lose discovery info after a while?
Only other option would probably be ask my friend to find the ship for me and join him in multiplayer

I am not 100% sure if simply looking it with the visor locks it in, but what I would try is claim that ship, put a base there, and periodically check that crash site until the wreck respawns, then try avain
The head dictates the staff's stats at that terminal, the other 2 parts are cosmetic

How do expedition ships work? People can always claim one after they unlock it? Or they get a single ship from the expedition and if they lose it it's gone?
Once unlocked in the expedition (or via other unofficial means), they can claim a copy of it once per save. They could also set it as their primary ship in an expedition linked to their main save, then copy it to their main save and salvage it an endless amount of times

You can copy an expedition save (that was began from the expedition terminus)'s current primary ship to your main save by interacting with the expedition terminus while back on the main save

Some expedition rewards are able to be exchanged between players, like most of the ships #nms-legacy-ships message and anything in the form of items like the Iron Vulture modules and any of the exclusive Corvette Modules

No
The mod u put it becomes better
So it doesn't
It only upgrades the mods u want if it's in the slot
Though placing similar modules next to each other also improves them by about 6% for each module for each side it's touching similar tech
so adjacency is also somewhat important, it's not too big of a deal if the supercharged slots aren't very close to each other though as then you could supercharge multiple different things, or supercharge the same thing across all of them regardless

but the functional difference between that and them being spread apart isn't too large

Well Fighters have a slightly higher average damage bonus range, but even a "bad" Hauler will rip things to shreds when upgraded/supercharged right
There really aren't any combat encounters in No Man's Sky that remotely necessitate/benefit from supercharging every weapon and min-maxing that, besides saving a few seconds every few hours

SC slot layout are either determined at spawn (the SCs they start with, which depends on the exact location it spawns in), or deterministic (from the seed of the ship/tool in question)
