Economy rank is either 1 star, 2 stars, 3 stars, or black market. You'll notice black market has no star ranking bc it is its own rank.

How long does it take you to get a ship to S rank doing your method?
I kinda felt bad using the duplication glitch on the suspicious packets. It was a bit too easy
Depends on if you're doing it casually with other things or only doing that, jumping to the next station as soon as you finish the last. But you get about 6000 nanites per station. Also depends on your difficulty.
The only thing I don't regret using those are the upgrade stuff for freighter which are absurdly rare and precious and ship parts. Sometimes I need multiple to finish my Corvette and I have to go to the method. I'd probably burn out if I didn't do those 2

If you're on regular difficulty, A to S is 50,000 nanites, so you could get that in 9 stations.
Your base transfers. But not your inventory. Clear it but leave 3 useless items because a bug can happen

What "quicksilver glitch"? The one where you unlock something, then reload to before you unlocked it?
That only works with things that are unlocked across all saves upon first purchase. The Void Egg is not one of those items, as it is an inventory item that you can buy it repeatedly.

If you upload their discovery, they will still have their discovery date/your name, and the custom name you gave them

Unimportant, because it only affects hyperdrive and fleet coordination stat ranges, as well as inventory slot upgrade limits and the amount of supercharged slots it has
all of these things are basically impossible to make use of without tons of upgrades and an actual goal with much knowledge of what freighters are used for in mind

it's heavily advised against postponing your first freighter until it's a high class, as you would be wasting your time since most of the use of a freighter is regardless of it's class
they're most useful as early as possible, since the ability to build all 10 storage containers aboard them in the form of Storage Rooms lifts a lot of the pain of inventory management, since you can summon your freighter to your position at will for free from infinite distance (given it's hyperdrive can access the local star color)
Having a freighter also unlocks access to dreadnaught battles
So if a person wants one of those as a freighter, it good to snatch up a freighter as early as you can
I don't disagree with earlier advice, but I do want to make the case for upgrading to S class freighters and maxing out slots soon too. The main inventory slots on a freighter are quite useful since anything stored in them are available as if they were in your own inventory once you have the matter beam. That's really just a convenience, but it means you don't have to take items out to use them for crafting and such.
trying to farm for an S class pirate dreadnought but i'm only getting C classes. am i just unlucky or am i doing it wrong?
I have a restore point in a non-outlaw system, im reloading there, heading to the same outlaw system over and over. taking the ship down, boarding and checking the class, if not S i restore.
Pretty sure the same system will always have the exact same result. Which is how the NMS coordinate exchange has gotten so popular. 🙂

Well, more or less. If you know a system will yield an S-class, you could go to that system over and over until the fight is triggered

each time a freighter spawns, it's class is rolled, so each time you see one warp in or make a rescue event start is a whole new chance to get an S-Class one

You can add up to 60 technology slots to S-Class starships, you can still add regular starship upgrades/technology to further improve what you wish to improve
Regular ship upgrades are still essential for corvettes. They stack with the corvette parts

Know that freighter class is truly fully random, so searching for a specific class of freighter is useless
Searching for one in a specific economy tier would be more important, or searching for one that's in a system that ignores the cooldown if you qualify for pirate dreadnought events

You can do that, that is what may people do
The corvette modules' synergy with standard starship technology is essential for that
If you could not install standard starship technology, they would be significantly worse than all other starship types
Ah, sorry. I think we got the topics confused. I can 100% confirm that corvettes can and SHOULD be upgraded with regular ship upgrades. Here's an example of my layout:
Corvette-only upgrades are nice, but they are far weaker than regular upgrades. The main use for them is to can provide adjacency for your normal upgrades.

Start with a base that uses storage units so you have portable storage
Don't worry about building a full on base and freighter until you have more resources
I don't know of a building guide but the space you have to expand into is something like 20 x 20 x 20.
I like to keep industry on the lowest level and work up level by level from there.

As you come out of the freighter building area - off the green steps - there is a base expansion terminal you should interact with and explore on the central console.

Yes there are quicker ways to get to the core. One is to get a ride with another player. Another is to check the anomaly for a featured base that might be near the core.
There is a third way that is considered a spoiler that might be listed in the spoiler channel.

if you can, i'd strongly recommend getting/upgrading a settlement, to get a s-class fishing pond. fishing at it, obtaining child of aquarius will be a walk in the park, wont even need to use any bait. otherwise, yeah, bionic lure for bait, keep fishing

officially, got to wait for the devs to bring them back again - unofficially, there's ways (on pc ofc, it's really easy with a save editor or a mod to get exp rewards to become purchaseable from qs shop - you could even rerun old expeditions offline. other platforms with multiplayer support, there's service bot; some rewards like companion eggs and most of the ships can be gifted between players)

i'd suggest that you should experiment; some folks tend to still like TAA, while others have moved on to DLSS (when available), FSR2, and even Xess, and are experimenting with those.
i got a 100 HZ monitor meaning ghosting/frame draging) is also something i worry about allot

oh seems that FSR 2.0 native is best for me since when set to native it dosnt upscale at all
yeah, was about to say that if your hardware can hit 100fps on native, then you shouldnt really be seeing any ghosting or dragging. that said, fsr2 native does display some edge pixelation on some objects when they're in front of things like planetary rings
i never realized before now how optimized NMS is, like my RTX 3080 (wich is sligthly like a little OCed by hand) runs all max settings with 100 fps no stutter (i due need to turn of MP for this but i rarely play online so)
actoully it hits 70-90 fps but thats good enough
- seems the new freighter has 1 supercharged slot revealed, while current has none? if that's true, then i'd say that it's a good swap (package your b-class freighter tech first if you can, if not that's fine)
- if you dont really care about a freighter tech build atm, it's like having the a-class is almost just for upgrading's sake
- if you're planning on investing cargo bulkheads to upgrade to higher inventory sizes, higher classes have increased upgrade limits, up to 60+120 when s-class
that said, lots of players just a) summon their freighters around and use matter beam+10 storage rooms for more inventory slots at their quick disposal, and that's enough for them; or b) want/need all the inventory slots they can get
Atm one of my main goals is getting a s class freighter
then in that case, i'd stick to the current freighter - 28 cargo vs 25 cargo on the new one
the location of the revealed sc slot on the a-class is not bad, but it would take a cargo bulkhead or two to properly make use of it
no telling when that s-class drop is going to happen though
remember that applied cargo bulkheads are permanent and not transferable
Thats why i try to have over 300mil units so i can affored it when it does shows up (unless its a pirate dreadnought)

also note that if you're trying to get to just some galaxy and not a specific glyph address, some of the anomaly teleporter featured bases are in other galaxies e.g. eissentam, and also other player's bases in the same instance

Delete as many parts as you can and finalize the design, then exchange it for another lifeform's starship

To finalize a corvette design, it must always have at least one hab, one cockpit, one landing bay, one landing gear, one reactor, one weapon and one thruster

It's impossible to build objects more than 1,000u from the original base claim position
See #nms-commands message on how to extend a base's boundary up to 1,000u away from it's original claim position
U you can extend the base building limit by going to the edge of the building limit then placing a short wall as far as you can place it then it will extend the base building limit
Then to move my base to a spot that has power and mining and gas hotspots
It's usually advised to initially place and claim the base computer after you have located resource hotspots, so that you can build it between all of them
You will have to delete and rebuild the base. Moving the computer will not impact your build area

Delete it one part at a time and yes
You get 50% of them, placed into your Base Salvage Capsule inventory (when deleting via Base Computer interface)
To get 100% of the resources used to build everything, delete objects manually first

Progress is shared between Xbox Console and Xbox PC, yes, through Xbox's cloud system
Only through save editing, or having them unlocked before the Frontiers update, or having another player who has them unlocked build them for you in which you can then duplicate/manipulate them within that base as you please

File? You should just have to open your desired save editor, then go to the discovery/blueprints tab, whichever it has or wherever those are
Do not attempt to use a text editor on your raw save file, that will irreversibly corrupt it due to it's compression.

Hello! I have a question about glitch building on freighter bases. I used to be able to use the UAC to mount a small upside down door to remove freighter room walls using a scaled down label that’s upside down and using the UAC to glitch the door between 2 platforms. For for info-

Now the door is scaled down but the orientation isn’t upside down after several attempts. Doesn’t seem like the door is maintaining the same orientation as the label. I was wondering if something has been patched and if there’s another technique to get this door upside down?

got it! watched a vid just in case, they mentioned that you select the save file location. can i also select a copy of the save file instead of hte one in the game directory to avoid issues if i mess up and hten later replace the one in the game directory with the edited one?
Both of the main save editors make backups automatically after making any changes
doing nearly anything in the UI should not cause issues unless you're really trying to break something

Yea, that didn't happen. Eddie joined on me last night with mp off, and it showed it was off but greyed out while he was in my party
You could have it set to friends only or something and someone could join via the Join Friends game mode

If they have your friend code, they could still join then

Somewhat yes, though the Cargo slots can be accessed universe-wide with the Matter Beam installed, where the Storage Containers can only be accessed system-wide
The cargo slots become an extension of your exosuit cargo inventory, usable for recharging and refueling purposes on all things, as well as having quadruple stack sizes on harsher stack limits difficulty options
Not really. The cargo rooms are great but you can't use items inside them for crafting without first taking them out. The main freighter inventory is available all the time. Not a super important but it sure is convenient.
I'm asking since I want to swap the free A-class capital I have out with a system freighter I like more. The capital one seemed to come with decent storage built out already. maybe 15-20 more slots than I usually see

when you leave the derelict, you can activate another emergency scanner and pulse to a new one. it will have the same name and layout, but it's a new instance and fully restocked

first one costs 5m, then 10m, then 20m, then each one after costs 30m. cost resets each day
There is also a small glitch where you can reuse the same one if you put it in your personal refiner after using it etc

Only the Polo, Artemis and Tentacled Figurines have adjacency with each other and all Starship Trails
Though it's only really beneficial to maximize the Polo Figurine's adjacency, as all of the others grant boost which is capped very low

question regarding pirate freighter battles: I have been fighting them as I warp into a system and defeting them. I get about 800k units, and when I board and decide I don't want that freighter (I Have an S-class but looking for better slot layout) I demand tribute and get 6.7mil units. Is destroying the freighter worth anymore than that? Once I board and scan and determine it isn't better than what I have, I could take off and blast it to smitherines.. Is the payout any better?

nah; destroying the freighter ignoring engines would drop a s-class freighter upgrade module most of the times

reset is a flavored-text word, almost just for immersion. getting to other galaxies is still possible and easy to do even if you refuse, and refusing still completes the main storyline anyway. that said, accepting is basically a once per save shortcut to another galaxy, but has that thing that applies damage to installed tech/modules on suit active ship and MT (which is easy to prepare against)

having been to other galaxies before this or not isnt going to affect the outcome - there's neither a huge benefit or penalty on either option, you're simply being warned that if you accept, your installed tech and modules in exosuit active ship and MT will get damaged, if you dont store them+change to gear you dont care about

Remember that you can install up to three upgrade modules per tech type, trying to install a fourth will overload all of them until the extra ones are removed. This limit doesn't count blueprint technology
Also, placing technology in Supercharged Slots increases their effectiveness by 25%, so place what you wish to be better in those slots

each ship's maneuverability is divided into two things: core maneuverability, which is basically how the ship handles when flying normally; and boost maneuverability, which is how the ship handles when boosting. agility is a innate buff that is applied to ships, but not always in the same way: with some ships, a larger part/percentage of that buff is applied to core maneuver, while in others to boost maneuverability

You can upload your own bases, which makes them visible to other players when you're offline, and you can also build at another player's base for them so that could be something you would like to do

I use an interceptor for my main, works well.
They handle a bit different but like it better than the fighter I was using.
A lot of it is personal preference even the starter ship is very capable once upgraded.

It's icon should be nearby, if it isn't then try teleporting to systems you've been to previously, maybe it's still very far away where you were when you first began the mission

At best, you can take from their Mineral/Gas Extractors and Supply Depots, as well as harvest their crops, but if they aren't in the system in multiplayer with you currently then they won't be affected

It can be, you need metals to make Chromatic metal to make antimatter
That;s the max modules I can place

Cyclotron is the one that does more damage to shields, infra knife is the one that does more hull damage

Cycletron is the only weapon that explicitly does more damage against shields than hull, the hull danagers are Infra knife, Positron ejector and Missiles.
The last two (Photon/Sentinel Cannon and Phase Beam) don't discriminate between shield and hull
I don't use LS so not 100% sure on their weapons

Purple Star systems, you can mark it for search in your menu in the Catalogue section, it should then show you where to go on the galaxy map
Note that purple systems are locked behind a mission that comes after the main story is complete, and after you are introduced to the Autophage #nms-commands message

There have been many dozens of trailers for No Man's Sky updates throughout the years
Each trailer is made using their development tools, so they can manipulate things in it to however they please
like how the Worlds Part II trailer had a Gas Giant appear as a regular planet, as it needed to fit within the field of view of a trailer

Many other trailers feature fully custom behavior that can't be replicated in-game, like walkers walking alongside the player or a planet's biome changing between shots
The planet itself was engineered with specific things they wanted, but worlds just like it exist

im getting a bug where after I save civilians from pirate fighters, I dont get standing increase and when I board the freighter the captain doesnt offer any reward. happened twice in a row already
all my combat difficulties are normal
If you are piloting a corvette-class starship, this is expected and is a known bug
Being on-foot while outside of the freighter immediately ends the Space Rescue mission
which currently affects exiting your corvette's seat at any point, which is of course unintentional

so if I get into such combat with a corvette, theres no way to still get the reward unless i somehow change ships

Similarly, exiting your corvette's seat at any point during the battle instantly despawns the entire battle
this previously occurred even if you were docked with the freighter after defeating the pirates

They can see your hand movements, but not your head movements besides which way your character is rotated

They're both useful for that purpose if you're making short warps and visiting planets in system.
You want really long jumps then kit out the explorer - it'll serve you better for that.
Am I right that the landing gear upgrade that regens fuel is equivalent to solar sails, or are solar a bit better?
I like to be able to pulse on planets
Both recharge launch fuel at equal rates
and all types of starships have the same pulse engine restrictions for in-atmosphere/near-object use
