- The server opinion on overpowered/admin-generated items has seemingly been set by concensus. People want em gone overall, and I honestly don't really have any ground to blame them. THAT SAID...
- There's a difference between having op/adminmode items and abusing them to make the game easier/less fun for others. Provided you aren't making the experience for others worse (as a staff member), it honestly doesn't matter. You expect any staff member to abuse their role a bit (tbh this is even encouraged to some extent), and this usually balances out. As long as it's not making the game less fun for anyone else... there isn't really a big deal.

And if this sort of behaviour concerns you, I appoligize. The "early days" of the server were largely goofing around with plugins etc in the first place

In order to resolve this issue, we again need to turn to general server consensus. If people overall like what happens and are satisfied with the general direction of the server, then there's nothing immediately wrong. The precedent of the server exists for admins to have unique gear, but the precedent also states that it's used in a way that doesn't affect others' gameplay and that it doesn't get in the hands of regular players.

Now personally, I would draw the line at six stacks of diamonds (it is a bit excessive), but it's not like diamonds are rare or anything. With a tiny bit of effort, pretty much anyone can get a stack and a half in a reasonable amount of time.

From what I know so far (granted, I was not online at the time), I'd say the event was fine as it caused community engagement and was overall received as fun. I also think what was dropped should be re-evaluated, but I see no reason why this kind of event should be frowned upon. Especially if it stays mostly irregular and unpredictable.
Nobody is going to get it right the first time, or the second. One of the jobs of admins is to try things and see how they're received, and make tweaks to that. As long as that happens, then there isn't really an issue. Community concensus naturally develops, and the server adapts to that.

I actually have an idea I want to pass on here, if anyone's interested. Been thinking about trying a nomadic style server. Hard mode survival, start in an area with a collective home spot. Every week, pack up shop and walk out a certain distance in one direction, set up home again.

The OP tools that I posses are, in all honesty, for my convenience. If there are a tonne of mobs that have been spawned or are lagging out the place? I have an easy means to get rid of them. I'll tell you now that none of those are of any consequence to players.

As mentioned in the server the other day, my only qualm with creepers is that I feel like they muck up the landscape, and restoring the craters they leave isn't terribly easy (e.g. if creeper is in/around a tree & its leaves)

Certain clients don't like the mc.atlas IP format, so a legacy IP is provided

Well, with Micro$oft owning Minecraft now, a lot of the original sentiments expressed by Notch (like being anti-slab) have been reverted. The 1.13 update is adding stairs and slabs to all the new blocks that previously had none. So, you never know - we might get something like that.

I've never been a huge fan of Minecraft's block sizes to begin with though, as it requires stupidly large structures to achieve a desired level of detail for various things
It's "pixel" art (I know, voxel) where the pixels have just been inflated like a hundred thousand times, lol
