Light no fires combines the best parts of how the procgen engine works. It allows the developers to utilize the procgen for the heavy lifting while they go behind it and clean up the mess.

It will inevitably produce dumb shit, but they can spend half the time getting twice the work done by just running behind this massive process and cleaning its messes than would be necessary if they had to do it all manually

Further, they don't even have to follow behind it to check it. They can run bots that do that for them and check geometry for holes, assets for pathing and clipping all at the same time without a single person having to manually check every single issue

So they can leave the quality control to QC workers, without needing programmers and level editors to actually do the footwork

All and all the whole process improves development speed and quality

I'm telling you, No Mans Sky is an experiment

This company is using NMS to build a game that can organically change based on how people play it and respond to it.

I suspect Light No Fires is a lot more in depth on paper than they're selling in the trailer

I don’t understand the mech suits that leave the pilot exposed, which counters the whole point of a mech which is to protect the pilot and make the pilot much stronger

I can understand it with the mech loader from Aliens, because that wasn’t meant to be a combat suit, it was meant to be an industrial suit, but for something like 40k, where you want the pilot to be as far away from whatever they’re fighting

That’s just not how design works
