Oh it was actually very obvious when I thought about how HG might manage the anomaly instance, wasn't an oob glitch at all. Won't share it here xd but what a silly thing. Definitely on par with the spawn death lock thing in terms of breaking the game

Does anyone know if there exists a mod for surveying for specific hotspot types from orbit? Essentially a way to get an approx location of a nearby hotspot of whatever element you are looking for you would still have to land with the survey visor but it would at least give you a ball park Element X is located somewhere within 1000u of this location.

there's also the BuildFrame mods i was interested in using and i think those mods do modify some of the same files that BBB and gbase modify

Dumb question If I want to load a specific mod last from what I understand the its Alphabetically from A-Z with Z loading last the question I have is so many mod files start their file names with _ and I am not sure how the underscore changes the load order so If i wanted to change the order so it loads last would I rename it as Z_ or _Z ?
underscore is after Z in alphabetical order
so if there's an underscore at the beginning of the file name, it's sorted after A-Z and gains priority

Lua is the buildplan for the mod. Pak is the actual mod file the game can use.

It requires you to buy SaveWizard, which isn't very user-friendly, so I'd say it's at least a midsized hassle, lol. But otherwise can accomplish everything PC save editing can.

Though I can't find any videos or anything online of people using that software for the game.
I've used save wizard a bunch for gta5 and a few others so I'm pretty familiar with how that software works at least.
@inland onyx Right-click on a save to open a save, click Export to save it to PC, both GoatFungus can recognize the format. After editing, open SaveWizard back up, Advanced mode for the save, and import the JSON back in. Afterwards, highlight one of the numbers in the right pane, press the same one so you're basically just replacing it without actually changing anything - you'll get an error, something about the character not being in the current library. Click Continue. It's dumb, but you need to make an alteration to the advanced mode window before it'll allow you to apply the changes and save to your USB drive.
So I'm basically just using goatfungus instead of save editor and the rest of the process is normal to any other save edits? @night adder

Yes, but GoatFungus is just the name of the guy currently updating NMSSE, the other save editing program that works is NomNom.
Dont ask me how that got started or why people call it GF even though it's the same program, I just call it that to avoid confusion with most people.

This would imply that mods in general, not a particular mod, being loaded by the mod loading system that HG provides, are causing HG to flag a save for deletion. Also HG choosing to not delete the offending mods or warn you about it, but leave them there so that if you start a new save it would be doomed for deletion. That would be a strange thing to do.

Can someone direct me to a tutorial for merging two pak files with Amumss? all he instructions seem to indicate merging specific LUA files with existing Pak files but I cant find a clear path to combing two mods are already in pak format and don't provide a raw LUA

There's not much to mod, or did you have something specific in mind ? You can change the exchange rate you get when you scrap, how many slots are broken, and NMSMB has a script to make salvage stations placeable anywhere you can build stuff.

I've never once used a save editor on PC...
But am considering adding a HyperDrive to my NMS v1.1 freighter that lacks one - and one can't be added in game presently.
i've used it many times without issue, but you might want to back up your save just in case. I think it has an automatic backup function but idk how it works
a good mod to have if grinding for resources is painful: hypershop, it basically makes the galactic terminal sell everything (though i recommend uninstalling it when you have what you need to avoid ruining the game)

@sly plank It can be done via manual save edit. You'd need to edit raw JSON, look for your friend's base in the PersistentPlayerBases section (other player's bases are saved at the end of it), and change the value IsReported from true to false.

I'm trying to find or make a mod that changes the speeds of all the exocraft individually (mainly because applying the speed modifier to all completely broke sentinel mechs and made them unkillable and extremely fast), I tried this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/1495 but I got warnings about the names for every vehicle except the mech being unknown and therefore ignored. What're the proper names for all the exocrafts, or where can I go to find them all?

You don't need the same mods only the terrain mods you will need to see each other.

But I am not 100% sure if that is the case but I do know if both of you don't have the same terrain mod the person who doesn't will be up in the air or at a random spot even if on the same planet and at the same spot both of you landed at.

Only mods I like to use are the color mods sometimes I will check out a terrain mod but using those are risky if you have a base. Because when the game gets a update there a high chance the terrain mod won't work and your base will get stuck at a random spot like in the ground or in the sky.

There is actually a very low chance that an update will break a terrain mod.
The only way that will happen is if HG changes terrain. If that happens, terrain will change in vanilla.
I've had DUD'S SKY - TERRA FIRMA on Nexus mods for a year now. No updates needed and not expected.
Really I always thought terrain mods had a higher chance since I been following this mod Better planet generation and people on there always say it is broken if a update caused enough changes

That's because it is much more than terrain. It changes many files and flora placement, flora itself, etc. That is prone to breakage.
TERRA FIRMA is just the voxelgen/terrain/land. It has an extremely low chance of breakage and if the situation occurs that it does break, all vanilla players will be in the same boat because HG changed terrain.

It doesn't change the biome.
The only thing it changes is the surface that you walk on. The land/terrain/voxelgen. Nothing else.
What's an alternate to save wizard? Any softwares that execute the same tasks but don't limit you to profile sign ins?
There is a second mod on the TERRA FIRMA page called natural spawn that changes slightly the grouping of plants/trees for more forest and plains type placement. It will not change the plants, just group them differently. You don't have to use it with TERRA FIRMA. It is optional.

Better Planet Generation changed the entire biomes, landscapes, even the fauna and flora.
Save Wizard limits you to 2 PSN ID'S being used at a time. Used to be 4 but they limited it because they're greedy. Trying to find something better.

I've always went to great effort to make my mods gameplay friendly. I purposefully don't change collectible items or flora/fauna or ships...etc. so there are some things about it that I don't know.

I just threw the .pak and lua in the pcbank mod folder and it worked out.
ye manual installation can be more reliable than vortex
idk why but vortex has a history of either missing paks
or the auxiliary files kinda getting in the way and stops the paks from being loaded

The github for nmsmb only includes the source for the common dll, not the exe yet. You'll have to download the release 7z from either github or nexus. It's built for win10 x64, don't think it will run on linux.

_MOD_DUD_AiShipPlusMoreDamage_v3912 is pretty spicy. Definitely makes AI ship alooot tankier, almost too much

DUD SKY makes my photo mode a little buggy
Sometimes when I try to take a photo (especially underwater), the focus suddenly goes to full or macro. I can't turn it off until I get out from the water

I can tell you that photo mode has a long list of bugs.

MO2 is for skyrim only it looks like. Looks like a lot of manual installs in steam folder for nms
I'd only suggest downloading with Vortex for version tracking and then extracting and installing the files manually

If you don't plan to do sound or language stuff, you can unpack these highlighted folders and all the GLOBAL. files in the root, and it would be about 28GB
