Depends. most of the new biomes are non lush and wouldnt be affected, new lush variants are swamp, infested, etc. You may or may not even like them

Sorta, it does have to mess with referential lists a bit, so if the new files were in the same place, it would get overwritten

I THINK I did the first LOD mod, by just upping some numbers to 998 or something, then Rayrod started messing with it and others, but mine was such a simple edit that made a nice difference. Now the genius modders made it really great on all biomes. But yeah I don't even know how to unpack a mbin anymore lol.

Like what it did, you could see more stuff in the far distance like trees, but did not render the grass in further away from you.
And obviously I was just a 1 file man, I could never figure out how this file linked to that file etc..... and that you must edit 2000 files to get x effect. So I went hell no, I will let you all do the hard work and just nag you all. 😛

Is there a way to mod a full Expeditions save so I can just get the rewards and not play it unless I feel like it? Or would that be considered cheating because of the way it works? Because I'm not sure if I want to play it, however I want to get the limited stuff.
I think once the save editor is updated you should be able to do so

@dense rover NMSSE is currently unable to load an Expeditions Save. The other option called NomNom, can read Expeditions saves, but saves changes as a Permadeath mode save. New variable names are not available yet either. Although it is certainly possible, you need to know what you are doing. Best to wait a bit. Maybe a ready made mod, or easier to mess with yourself
@tacit lodge New compiler is still an infant and barely intact right now. Due to some complications with var names not being translated automatically the way they used to be, there's a mountain of extra problems the authors have to work through.

snappoints is an absolutely broken system
and designed to be this way which makes it worse
you have to point at the center point of where the attachment would be for them to snap
and you have to be at a distance where you can at least see the entire object being snapped
this snapping above is literally impossible with vanilla build camera
forgot to mention this is in contrast to the past system of pointing to the point of attachment

I have never really looked into anything related with the Weekend Missions. Now if you had asked me how to unlock all the QS items at once, including new ones, I'd have no problem getting you those ... lol

You can do it with a mod, but I doubt it's been updated for Expeditions yet. You can also do time-skipping, but it's not recommended

@dense rover Most of the milestones are based on values stored in PlayerStateData\Stats. You can just set the matching value to what's needed and the next time you load the game it will register all those steps as complete. I'm sure there are plenty of others that are more complicated, and probably a faster way to do it, but that's some of them handled.
Is there a list of completed values or should I ask for a completed save and compare the values or something?
Honestly, idrc if the save breaks, I just want the endgame rewards for now because I don't think I want to play Expeditions, but missing out on rewards would suck.
you can prolly get the rewards without the progress if you know the product values

I think you can just copy an existing save then change the game version number to the appropriate one, something like 7702, and I think it would work. I'm not sure if it would save your account-wide rewards until you went online though
Yeah, there's another section in the season data that looks like you might be able to just set everything directly and easily. I'll need to start a new save to test and probably won't have time to do that for the next two days.
Hey I finally got NMS for pc after owning it on ps4 for years.
How do I start with modding? I know nothing about it. I want to push it to the graphic maximum (realism etc) mypc can handle Cyberpunk on ultra so I think nms should be no problem at all

if you mean an error is being produced in AMUMSS, then open REPORT.txt and you'll see which script the error belongs to
AMUMSS should also tell you to check that file for details whenever it produces an error

I tried that, but if I do that it tells me after loading that save, that my expedition is ended and the save will be transformed into a normal save. Maybe the progress is stored somewhere in that save file, do you have any ideas?

@odd stag I successfully got a Normal save converted to Expeditions without it crapping out, and I know how they are storing progress mostly, but there are a few kinks left to work out still.
@vale iron Depending on how well that transition worked, you could submit it to HG, assuming its not some obvious change they would already know
They mentioned in a patch note that they couldn't repair already-bugged expedition saves "yet" which suggests that they may not have the answer yet

You can disable the auto flashlight from in-game settings. No need to mod it

you can still manually turn on the flashlight from the quick menu

No, updates to the game will only ever break mods, not fix them. We still need some tools to be updated before authors can update their mods for this version of the game

What i tried so far is starting a new game in normal mode, then, when i reach my ship, save & Exit the game. Then change the version to expedition game mode and add all "0.0" MilestoneValues.
But then when i load that game, i see the Expedition tab, with no tasks in it.

Yeah, I found that a normal save lacks the basic quests in MissionProgress, the season state, and the season data. You have to put all three in to get it to look right. There might be more it's missing too
Like who the hell cares if you mod the game to enjoy it. Imagine comparing NMS with WoW and Diablo. There is literally like no PvP mechanic in NMS. Some people do b really mad.
@vale iron you can add that you need to collect the reward for the phases in the expedition save to get them on your main save. That's what I had to do.
I had to go through each phase, and collect all the rewards on them and save to be able to get the reward for the phase in normal

Yes for PS4, I doubt PS5 will work. You will need Save Wizard or Save Mounter and the Save Editor NomNom. That should allow you to get the save in a proper format to then convert to PC, with likely still quite a bit of editing to do. It iis pretty involved ...

Well with mods (especially my mod) you can do Nexus missions that gain quicksilver, but they do not contribute to the community research.
However with the saveeditor you can enable more Daily Quests, and it might be that they contribute to the community research goal

The goatfungus editor states that it's Beyond compatible
Was worried that if I edited a save (even a non-expeditions save) using the editor, that I might break something.
well it only edits the save file u choose, so it can't screw up a save u dont specificly edit and save, but it also auto-backups anything u change so u cant really screw anything up permenantly
the other option is to use cheat engine to edit stuff while in game
the cheat table i use works pretty well for expeditions stuff
true. but for all I know, post-Beyond updates changed non-expeditions save files in some way

I've edited even the specific expedition data and it didn't cause any problems. From what I can see in the file, you're perfectly safe to edit normal things.

I don't know anything about that limit, but this just blanks the image file, so they are still displaying, just as a 1x1 transparent pixel

I'm looking for a mod that provides extra save slots (I have all five in use now and want to try Expeditions without giving up my current saves). I currently am planning to shuffle backups of my saves to achieve this, but hoped there might be a mod to do it already given how easy it could be to do.
@vale iron I have just tried to see how many bases we can create. Just to verify whether it is indeed 400 bases max. I have a normal save, with bases 0-398, no freighter by the way (normally counts as a base as well). I am still able to add another to make that 400 bases total. Adding base 401 is not possible, even though I can place a base computer and it says to be a valid location. The message after gives me a warning, unable to actually claim the base.
I assume you had the same experience when you gave it a try?

@vale iron To add to the above with max 400 bases. I can apparently save edit more bases to exist without issue. Just added another base with Save Editor to have 401 without issue. I checked if creating a save would do anything with the list, but all 401 still there in the save too. Just some additional info.
Now to be honest, I did of course cheat to begin with, as I did not plan on actually building all 400 bases.
But it appears 400 is indeed max!

Changing system time/date on your computer will work, but can have some nasty consequences, as timestamps are used a lot in your save file(s), not just for the void egg to hatch

I did them separately; manual download for the compiler, manual download for Blender addon
I tried to import a model and it gave me an error saying it couldn't find MBINCompiler
I looked it up and realized I needed to register it
so I went to do that and got the first error I posted here

EA really hates mods, so they create their own file formats that only they can open
in the case of models, or at least in Spore, it's ".rw4" which cannot be opened by any program you can buy

so we have fan made Blender addons for it
All it takes is ... time and effort. Lots of both ... sure applaud those who create the tools
on top of that they also hash all the file names
like they really went out of their way to keep people out of the game lol

okay so when I was importing models and all, I got a crash (it was working fine until I tried to undo something)
and now when I start blender 2.91, it doesn't recognize that the addon is installed
reinstalling the addon didn't fix it

My experience was someone's save file that couldn't claim a base and I noticed they had exactly 400 bases, which seemed suspicious, so I deleted one and could then claim. Pretty much the same evidence. Your finding that you could add 401 in save edit is interesting. Are all 400 of those personal or are some multiplayer bases downloaded into the same folder? There was some speculation it might be a 350+50 limit.
Yes, I read about the possible MP bases as part of the 400, which could very well be. I had no other bases loaded at all, just my own.
The save data for the expedition lists what base mode it is. You could probably just change that to survival

Got it up and running, but can't claim expedition rewards ("Inventory Full"), and I can't select various milestones to add to the mission log.
Also, doing this results in having the Milestones tab (removed in Expeditions) restored. (Unless I missed that it was recently put back.)
