Is there an easy way to determine which mod is causing a crash, short of deactivating them individually? I'm on the redux expedition and my game crashes every time I warp to Rendezvous 1. Mod list attached.
Disable half of them, see if it crashes, if it does, disable half of the remaining, repeat in a similar way until you've narrowed it down to one
yeah, I've tried some permutations of that method with mixed results. I was hoping there was a log file I could check that would point to an error.

Chances are a game bug that HelloGames would need to fix.
So I have a question that sorta fits here. I know we can only have 12 active ships at a time. Somehow, I'm now stuck at 10 as a max. Two of my ships aren't apparently in my list, but I can see them in the save editor. However, if I try to delete them there, my entire list bugs out in a tremendous way.
Is there a way to fix this, or am I stuck with 10 ships forever?
Worth mentioning I was trying to import a ship design via the base building app and a save editor. Probably did something wrong along the way. And I actually have 11 ships, not 12. Think I successfully deleted one of the glitched ones.
The best you could do is archive some ships in-game for later use, or export some of the ships using the save editor to import later (may break corvettes currently)
You'll probably need to go into raw JSON editing and manually delete the two phantom ships. The people at Creative hub would probably be best for helping you do that without screwing something up

how do i get the ID's of multitools in save editor to be 4 digit numbers, because on here its saying that the best DPS one is #1159 , but the save editor adds a 0 at the front of these numbers, completely fucking it up, what the heck, (for the x class boltcaster module)
I think it's just a number, so a zero at the front shouldn't make any difference. Try one of the 5-digit seeds and see if that produces what is expected?

How do you install Nexus Mods when you play on PC with Xbox Game Pass?
The same exact way that you install them when on Steam, just navigate to GAMEDATA/MODS
or use vortex and pray that it locates the correct location to put the MODS folder

Yes, and make sure that the folder does not have a bunch of numbers, that means it's the download folder, which means the actual mod folder is one folder deeper

That's the main file of the mod, buried in it's folder structure
The mod does two different things, as it's description probably says or at least it's images show. The main thing it does is raise the complexity limit to 9,999. The secondary thing it does is raise all corvette module effects limits to 9,999, which means that up to that many landing gear will properly activate, that many thrusters will be lit and showing trails etc

No, you must place them inside of GAMEDATA/MODS
Since MODS doesn't come with the game normally, just create a folder there and name it MODS

You could use crafting = free to build nearly all modules, if you want the expedition modules the you could use the consumerism and communism mods to claim them for free, which gives their blueprints

thank you for the upgrade module seed lists, as i no longer have to open 10,000 packs of upgrade modules obsessively for hours (this happened ) , and because all of my multitool slots were fully expanded beyond maximum, and every slot is supercharged, I'm now more powerful then I've ever been, AHAHHAHAHA!

Only HG would be able to make changes like that. You could make a mod to change the markers, but they'd be static, just like existing, as there's no UI to be able to select and change in-game.

What I mean is there something that can make color glitching the texture between different base part types (wood, metal, geometry, etc.) work in the building recoloring menu as opposed to using the glitch via key input?
Only color mods are edits to the color tables, not enabling more variety like that

If you have an idea for a mod and you don't see it done yet, it's not because nobody else in 9 years had this idea
It's either because it's straight up impossible given the technical limitations of modding
like its somebody i know irl and online and he was like, "oh, i didnt know that was possible, say uh, what part of the expidition are you on?"
Or either it's somehow possible but a total pain in the ass
Pair that with longest time where mods had to be updated nearly every major update, forcing people to stick with their creations
and i was like "well don't you wanna try this out too?" and he was like "nah i'm good , that looks kinda idk if i wanna put in the time for that "
And you see why it isn't a popular endeavour
now that i think about it, that's a perfectly reasonable response
Imagine crafting an elaborate idea for a mod only to do due research and learn it's just not possible

anyone know if there's a mod that changes how often the expedition list (for frigate missions) repopulates? the once a day timer to get new ones. if there is, i wasnt able to find it.

Not possible via mod. 24 hour reset is hardcoded. Supposedly you can change the time on your computer to 24 hours ahead to get 5 more.
But, if you then set back, you'll have that much longer to wait before the next reset.
Do note that changing your computer time is not recommended
does anyone know of any mods for reducing flashing lights for people with light sensitivity? My partner has minor epilepsy but would love to get into this game if she could, but theres no settings to turn off the flashes that happen from nearly aspect of the game so i figured id seek out the help of the modding community. 🙏

Then what other flashes are you talking about? Would need a fairly exhaustive listing. If it's just a few things, might be possible to do something via mod. If, as you say, it's every aspect of the game, then probably not possible, as could potentially be taking about needing changes to thousands of game files.
Every "flash" instance would need to be looked at individually for a potential solution, with no means of testing other than having an epileptic look at the modded results, potentially putting in harms way.
In general, video gaming has never been a safe endeavor for extreme reactive epileptics. Function of the realities of how video gaming graphics work.

AFAIK, the "fade to white" is actually flashes and covers almost all the flash transitions. It switches them to black, which isn't ideal, but much better. As Babscoole said, anything else we would need to have a list of instances before we could look.

Can make a new reward or use existing and tag it to something on land
For example, as a reward for destroying some type of hazardous plant. Already spawn everywhere, so then wouldn't even have to mess with biome files for a new thing to spawn.

Showing in-game? Not really possible. Can't simply add new UI items to display data. You can dig in the game data files to find this info though. There's be a Min and Max value for whatever it is.

It's not something you install into the game, it's a program that is used to build mods using Lua scripts based on your current game install's files, which is useful to update them when a large game update happens but nowadays it's significantly less necessary if at all for most users to worry about that

Oh, you do need an existing corvette to paste over, yes
when exporting, it may be easier to copy the objects data and paste it over the objects data of the corvette's base
you could simply copy your current corvette too, by copying it's entry in the shipownership section, then copying it's base and making sure the UserData aligns with the shipownership entry number for that ship (for this you may need a base to overwrite, not smart enough to add new entries lol)

Should as the seed would be stored in the save, BUT can't say with 100% certainty, as I don't have a console to test.

That's the mode I tried first, I thought FPS would be better but it wasn't. Right now I am using bolt caster so I don't get the recoil, I might try getting x upgrades withoit the charge up stat but I don't know if that would neuter (no pun intended) the weapon too much

You could also just disable or lower fuel consumption in difficulty settings, tho that will change it for everything, not just launch thrusters

The best way to unlock it is to enable it in the account season rewards section, it should always work

Similar to how your freighter base is a different type of base from planetary ones, your corvettes are a different type of base from both of those

There's no facility in-game to allow for this.
With NMS, mods cannot add new features, only HG can do that.
There's no properties to allow for searches based on specific number of planets, nor specific number with a particular biome.

This is a scan event for a digsite on a planet, but all scans use the same class. Look through and you can see what is and isn't possible.

The game already allows you to see the presence of them in a system from the galaxy map, using their special "Dissonant" tag. You could use a mod like https://www.nexusmods.com/nomanssky/mods/3914 that adds color to that to make it more obvious when hovering over a bunch of systems, or possibly one of the ones above which I have no idea how those work besides using mission functions from the vanilla game
Stupid question but I’ve been to probably about 30-40 systems, I’ve not run into any more dissonance, and I’ve not seen any dissonant tags even on my home system which has a dissonance detection planet but doesn’t have a dissonant tag why would that be?

That could only be because it's a Gas Giant system, as that's the only tag that overrides "Dissonant" visually. Dissonant worlds aren't common but not rare either, so not sure why you wouldn't be able to find many more that easily

Then your system shouldn't have a dissonant world, are you sure that it's the same system?

Not exactly how that works. As you look through these property\value pairs in the globals, must keep in mind that there's quite a few which are deprecated. Do nothing. You will want to do empirical testing to determine if the property actually does anything and what the values actually mean (often times there's a multiplier factor elsewhere in other files).

No, but with the exception of LocTable file, the game will not see of use mod files which are MXML. Only MBIN and EXML
.pak IS obsolete for mods and the game will not use them
and also those are a pain in the ass to work with

There is a bug that can do it, I think.
You land the corvette in a base, go into build mode, cycle to edit the base, place the geobay on the corvette, pick up the geobay then cycle to editing the corvette and let the geo bay go so it snaps back to where it was
may have been patched, haven't heard of anyone doing that in a while
managed to fix my issue with the dissonance luckily. I had some of my hud disabled somehow.
It's certainly easiest to do it with the mod, though

You should just have to type %localAppData% into the Windows search bar and press enter, then follow the folder structure that it shows to get to your save files
You could alternatively go to User > (your username) > appdata > local, I think
