Can someone help clarify how these ship stats are applied to in-game stats?
They are a kind of percentage bonus I think, but how does it work exactly... couldn't really find a clear answer.

The thing is if you don’t have something unlocked when trying to receive item it shows up as S class dirty bronze, but once it’s recognized as owned item it should show up to take, im not sure if it’s coded into the account when it’s unlocked or individually placed by it, If so trading with someone who also has it should allow u to take after accounts edited to have
If that makes sense, idk if it’s an inventory item or something connected to the account that recognizes it’s unlocked account wide

It’s not like an expedition thing. It’s a tech package removed from over three years ago that was only available for a month or so secretly. Been removed since. But they did update the visuals recently. Which makes me wonder if it’s hidden in the game files

DHardanWulf save edits his PS4 saves all the time, I believe, or has at least done it some. For the flame thrower (INCINERATOR), you just have to manually add the item to a multitool, possibly through the JSON

Did twitch release anything in past you couldn’t just get from expedition unlocks besides ships, pets, and multitool, like any unique clothing or things of that sort worth unlocking?
Just some special seeded ships and multitools, but you can get those with the correct seeds. All the clothing items were available in the quicksilver shop or through expeditions

I put my luas in ModScript and then ran BUILDMOD.bat. Following the instructions in the PDF, I have conflicts, and these are the next steps:
As you can see these two mods conflict. Luckily, we have Lua scripts for both of the mods.
Step 1.2) Delete the conflicting mods (.pak files) first.
Step 2) Drop the conflicting .lua files in the ModScript folder.
I am struggling to find the .pak files? What does it mean/where are they?

Yes so i try nomnom but its only work on Waypoint this other that you say is good yeah, I made a backup and a copy of the save folder and put it on my desktop, took the folder as the path in the program (not the backup) but my saves are not displayed.
I know how to find the main files in the program ( when you have to select a path

You can grab the wgs that the game/GamePass creates, and make 2 separate copies of the wgs folder.
- Your super safe backup.
- The alternate backup that you'll point the save editor to.
When you're done editing, you'll grab copy from #2 above, and paste it to the original folder structure from NMS/GamePass.

Correct. Once you select the game / save slot from that folder, you're able to edit the save via different options. Discovery is one of the tabs where you can select blueprints you'd like to unlock as an example. Under Known Products, in the case for legacy base building components.

Learn how to unlock Legacy Parts using the Goatfungus save editor, allowing you to edit your save files and add the Legacy Parts back into your build menu. This process is rather simple, and with the help from Beeblebum , you'll be able to get those parts in no time!

@azure belfry Once you're ready with that save file (making sure you do Ctrl+S or File > Save File), you can grab that whole wgs folder and copy it back to the original Game Pass path (%LocalAppData%\Packages\HelloGames.NoMansSky_bs190hzg1sesy\SystemAppData\wgs...). You can tell Windows to only copy what's been updated. You should get like 1-3 files to update.

Greetings, again, folks. After having ran AMUMSS and (hopefully) getting things installed correctly, I am now getting a lock-up on launch. I see the Hello Games logo and hear the music, but then it simply "freezes up" and Windows says it is not responding. What ought be my troubleshooting steps? I ensured I am running .NET 5. Rereading the information out there, as well as on YouTube trying to find recommendations/tutorials now.

If you're on PS4 and use save wizard, you can then take your save to PC, where you can use a save editor ,like Goatfungus's NMSSE, to change seeds and edit your inventory, among other things.

i'm using a save editor and attempting to see if it is possible to unlock a save's difficulty with it - i tried editing the raw JSON version number to the Normal code from Permadeath but to no avail... wondering if there's another step to it? thanks in advance if you respond :)
Context: I started a Permadeath run a while ago and its my only save I have lots of progress on, i reached the center of the galaxy and all that, locked the difficulty because I never thought I would want to unlock it, but only then did my friends decided to get into the game and I want to play with them, so solving this issue would make us all very happy (and so I dont have to start a new save :P)
(aaaand i did it, its a few lines down: changed difficulty locked "true" to difficulty locked "false")

How the heck do I get my ps4 data on my computer? My regular tiny USB wont work

No... Copy the save over on PS4 to usb .

If you've allocated your file directly to your usb stick they should automatically pop up
Plug your usb stick in and see if there's a file called PS4
Open that and see if there is another folder with your unique PSN Id number.
Inside that should be CUSA##### depending on your game ID

There are several base building mods available from Nexus Mods. Exosolar's Beyond Base Building, Gumsk's Base Building, Ultra base Building, etc. Even a Base Building App, as standalone or Blender plugin. As long as the base parts used are actual 'vanilla' parts, everyone would be able to see those. So any planet base parts used in a freighter base. will be present for everyone.

That's the only one. May be technically possible, but there'd be trade offs, like landing gear not retracting. We don't have tooling to edit individual animations in detail. In this case, the wings coming out are part of TAKEOFF, many dozens of individual anim entries are part of that, none labelled in a way that's understandable as to what exactly they do

Goatfungus/nomnom need a file called savedata##.hg and to get that you need to go into save wizard right click on your save and click advanced mode, then export file.
Edit file within the editors save file etc
Then do the same but this time do the same thing in advance mode but import and overwrite.
Save wizard automatically backs up your save so you can always go back if needed

personally within the usb on the root of it create a new file called BACKUP PS4 SAVE or something and then copy over your save so you have copy outside of the ps4 folder

It's an algorithm (method) for tracking down the exact crash culprit. Here's a clear example on how to do it. Let's say you have 200 activated plugins in total, and let's give all those plugins arbitrary names. (Plugin1, Plugin2, Plugin3... all the way to Plugin200). Your goal is to disable half, only leave all plugins from Plugin1 to Plugin100 enabled. After that:
-> If the game crashes again, then you know the culprit is somewhere between Plugin1 and Plugin100. Now you disable half of those, so you only leave all plugins from Plugin1 to Plugin50 enabled and test again.
Each time you crash, disable half of the plugin range from which you deduced it must contain the crashing mod.
-> If the game doesn't crash, then you know the culprit is somewhere between Plugin101 and Plugin200. Now enable half of the ones you disabled, so you leave all plugins from Plugin1 to Plugin150 enabled and test again.
Each time you don't crash, enable half of the plugin range from which you deduced it must contain the crashing mod.
Repeat this logic until you're (hopefully) left with one mod that you had to leave disabled for the game not to crash, and that's your culprit.
Basically, for each group of mods you disable, whichever half crashes is the one that contains the Impostor. Use your sussy brain to vote him out.
After that, enable all other mods and continue from the save before you stared the binary search (in case you kept making exit saves while testing it out).
Example with mods A, B, C, D, E, F, G, and H enabled

B must be the sussy boi since the game didn't crash with only Mod A enabled while all other mods are disabled, but it did crash with both Mod A & B enabled.

NMSSE is written in java, so all you'd need is a OS capable of running java programs, your save files in a folder of your choosing - run the editor, and point it to the save folder path you stored it in

Also, besides what FriendlyFire has already said, I can guarantee you've got mod conflicts in there, where more than one mod .pak contains changes to the same game file. In these cases, only the last one loaded will work, the previous ones will not. In your screenshot, I see multiple variants of one of my mods, when the instructions on the mod page clearly say to only use one at a time, lol. I would highly suggest you get AMUMSS, which can do conflict checks and by using those lua files in your MODS folder, combine conflicting mods, so they all work. Again using the luas, can also update a mod to latest game version. See How to use AMUMSS link in the stickies for this channel. 6th one down, I believe.

You don't just fall in space you would keep the same inertial velocity as everything else. So you would float there when jumping off. (unless your frigate decides to suddenly accelerate faster upwards as soon as you jump for some reason)

I am not a PS4 user, but from what I know, you use Save Wizard 'advanced mode' to export your save to then edit with a Save Editor. After having saved your edits, you use 'advanced mode' again to import this edited save and then hit apply. Then you have to put the saves back on the PS4 again to play with the changes made

Two issues I would love to mod to fix:
- Flying through asteroids while warping, or even just limiting how many "stray asteroids" there are... I have tried a few mods on Nexus but sadly they seem out of date. Any go-tos in this regard?
- "Better interaction"... I rebound left-click to interact in hopes I could more-quickly confirm the input of crafting materials/navigate windows/blah, as I used to not have any issues with this years ago when I played, but for some reason things feel "weird" in navigating these now. Unsure if there is a mod to make the UX a little more comfortable?
Is there a mod that lets you use atmosphere harvesters, mineral extractors, and emgs without the hotspot?
As far as #1, could try Exo's Asteroid Ribbons. Centralized most asteroids into a thin long ribbon. There are still some random floaters about, so you won't stop that from happening completely, but should be better, as long as you don't pulse through the ribbon itself.

One pipe would link refiners to containers, automatically transferring the result of the refining to the container.
The other pipe would link depots to refiners, automatically restocking them on fuel and materials.
Just having these 2 pipes would allow you to turn base building into Satisfactory, and it would be awesome.

I was thinking that I could reuse the feature that automatically transfers materials from extractors to depots, and modify the existing refiners to implement that feature.
Now that I think of it, probably most of the work would be about modifying refiners, depots and containers to use that behavior from the extractors, not adding "special pipes"

Hello, I haven't played nms for long, and started modding it. I have a mod that lets you craft upgrade modules. In its description it also says that it does something to make modules for freighter expeditions, but it (or another mod I can't figure out) Makes starship upgrade modules weird, giving warp efficiency to launch thruster modules, and reducing damage bonus to 1% for infra-knife upgrades, as well as deleting all of the other possible bonuses, and adding a bonus that says "Trade rocket enabled" which doesn't do anything if I have the trade rocket installed or not.

NMSSE (GF) updated, found 2 issues so far with edits, have reported both. Exporting ship locked up the editor, and swapped some s modules to x, and game then have both sets of modules installed and overloaded.
New community unlocks can be added to PlayerStateData\KnownSpecials in JSON, "^CAPE_SEED" & "^HOOD_GEK"

Hello guys I am trying to get rid off the sentinel icon (HUD) on the lower right of the screen on foot when close to a drone
I managed to dispatch the icon by modifying a .DDS called WANTEDICONALT.DDS in the the TEXTURES/UI/HUD files but I still have a circle widening/pulsing over a transparent grey square, the sentinel icon disappeared, but this thing on the lower right remains
replacing all wantedicon.DDS with empty graphics did not do anything
there is a reference to WANTEDICONALT in HUDINDICATORS.MBIN

You can try targeting the icon on line 4151 of UI\HUD\HUDNOTIFICATIONPANEL.MBIN , but even if that's correct, I don't think that will get the yellow circle. I tend to think those are probably both drawn shapes in ui elements, which might be hard to find

I have a question, is there a mod that changes when your frigate expedition guy plots new expedition routes (or is this even possible to do)? I know next to nothing about NMS modding and searching for something like this didn't give me any desirable results. I wanted to see about changing how often the expeditions rotate as I've found that they rotate once every 24 hours

it's a maintenance app basically - iirc it has a function to clean the registry from entries that no longer refer to installed apps. the registry is where lots of windows apps announce themselves to the system, so to speak, what abilities they have

Think of it as a recipe for the mod

Partially, but not 100%. What has been reversed will remain a secret. Due to not wanting to destroy relations with HG. If it were to be released, the concern is that HG could shut down modding completely. Valid possibility.

Modding and save editing isn't cheating, I think (personal opinion). The game isn't competitive enough where one player's modules and builds can have an advantage over other players.
The seed rolling method is another way to acquire better or even the best x-class mods without modding or save editing.
Yeah i don't care if you use mods or use SE, as im mod author but just giving yourself best seed through SE is cheating non the less as you circumvented the 'hard' work. I mean over half my mods can be placed in 'cheat' category
That is a subjective POV, respectable but not something we encourage. Play and let play, just like live and let live. Categorizing a methodology of playing NMS as "cheating" is prone to trigger heated discussions, drama, and we absolutely don't want any drama here 🙂

Oh i know, but on mod website we do categorize it as either 'cheat'/unbalanced when a mod is technically a shorcut. This is for people who prefer balancing mods.

Miods only effect the user so your mod of choice doesn't have any effect on lets say a person you invited or visited your planet. However if the same person has the same mods as you then it works like it's a modded gameplay (I think, I never tried it with multi, just read guides and stuff)

With save editors you can change seeds. So technically, not really "colour" them the way you would with your freighter or character customization. You find a seed that matches the ship design and color you want, and you can save edit it.
Most elements that aren't already built into the game, that are drastically affected or generated by game mods aren't really visible to other players. Basic example, someone has a mod that affects the starships' colors, I can't see what they see if I'm not running that mod.
You can still play multiplayer and share the same worlds generated by the game, and whose discovery data is shared via ODS, but depending on the type of mod or how many mods you're running affecting your world, you could be seeing very different things.
There are mods that can affect ship colors like that for sure. But not via a save editor like goatfungus' nmsse

anyone know how to import a .fb3 file to nmsc?
.fb3 is a freighter base exported with NMSSE (goatfungus). NMSC uses .bse for all bases. You will have to import it using NMSSE, to then save and use the save with NMSC to do whatever.
