If I recall correctly, it could be the reward is already marked as 'redeemed', which then results in not being able to get again. Requires checking the raw JSON data

If you open the save editor with the save, then the JSON editor (for the save, not the account data)
You have to look for PlayerStateData > RedeemedSeasonRewards, then check if the ID for what you are trying to get is listed on the right side. If so, it can be deleted, which makes the reward claimable again on the save.
Do make sure to keep formatting correct. Each entry in that list will end with a comma, apart from the last listed one

why not just lower game resolution though?

fyi, you can also just delete the entire settings file
everything goes back to default after you run the game again
keep in mind that TKGRAPHICSSETTINGS.MXML is regenerated on game launch if not found; so if you ever mess something up bad, yeah, like Winder said above
yeah but also elaborating on the specific setting you're trying to change will help us from having to guess what you're actually trying to change if you have to ask people about it
anyway, deleting the file would be the method with lowest risk
though if editing the file, it would probably be recommended to use a "proper" text editor too, such as notepad++
(i remember some notepad.exe quirks, didn't properly save files without messing up the encoding or something like that, don't know if that's still a thing on windows)

I installed one of the latest instant scan updated mods (the latest instant visor was from Nov 13th) and that one didn't work, I'll try a different one rn
so yeah it turns out most instant scanner mods don't work with mods that also modify "GCGAMEPLAYGLOBALS.GLOBAL.MBIN" but i have like 21 mods and don't know which ones do that

It works fine for me, but for some reason I still get the lag; the current lag is what I used to get without the mod installed, but the lag without the mod now is much worse (the spike is massive)
sometimes you get a stutter when leaving the planet, but it's like half a second
because it also depends what other mods you have installed
that changes things on space
all I have that affects space is Dark Space with Nebulae, HD Clouds 4k, and two ship seat mods if that counts

clouds I don't think would affect anything, don't even know if they load when you're close to the planet
I do notice that I get lower FPS in space with that mod installed, do you know of any less intensive mods that make space darker to test out if I determine it is the problem
there is another one that isn't updated, but it has a lua, if the file it uses wasn't completely changed you can make an updated version with AMUMSS

no mod changing asteroids? I used one before that would lag the shit out of my game because of the amount of asteroids it created
I don't really have any mod that changes asteroids
then I guess the only sure way to figure out is by temporary removing every mod from the folder and loading only the "no lag when leaving planet", use a creative save or something just to test so you don't risk something happen on your main save
if the problem still persist then it's the mod
It could also be the planet; my save left off on Distira which has a history of a noticeable lag spike regardless of the mod while other planets will be completely cured. I also donāt use any mods on that save which add items/vehicles/generation that donāt exist in the vanilla game; all the mods I use are either graphics or QoL which shouldnāt mess with my save data iirc
Definitely try a different system that doesn't have any multiplayer bases or settlements

the game almost dies just to load it when you teleport using a space station teleporter
I do have a 3700x and 3070, Iām still able to get above 30fps in Joanās recreation of Guildford which is one of the biggest lag machines of the entire hub :P
30fps is still too laggy for me tho; ever since I tried out 144Hz I find that anything below 60fps is hard on my eyes, in nms Iāll try to get at least 75-80fps if possible
yea, some planets can be laggy and even worse when there are bases and settlements
if it works fine on a different system then it's just the hub system that is laggy

Definitely possible, but you'd need to create all the sound files and learn how to replace them in NMS. People have done other voice packs. Personally, I use one that silences the voices

if you mean parts snapping in general, no, but some mods can make some parts that didn't snap before, snap
but they don't snap anywhere
I probably need to just flat out disable my mods for a bit then. Have a build with parts that snapped perfectly before but I deleted some bits and now it's not letting me reconstruct it

It's UltraBaseBuilder that adds the smaller rotation increments, right? I think I need to purge it. I've never had to use the feature except in one build that didn't work out anyways and it's just adding so many permutations to snapping that it refuses to just do the easy thing

i am currently doing specific trailers for each, so you can see the difference. they are all from the same engine i created for Redmas game overhaul generator, which can create different overhaul depending on the setting. I had fun recreating my previous overhauls with that engine, but you can create your very own
redmas game overhaul generator, is a script that with AMUMsss, can generate any of the mods i ve done since 2017 and u can also combine them and param them as you wish
thee planet generation is also very customisable
i did several layers of generation, and you can play around to switch on layer or another on / off
all terrains shapes are customisable and came with 3 different type of voxels generation ( normal, light or epic changes )
also based on my previous work
so basicaly, all my mods on nexus are updated , and now cross updates
need to release other ones still :
- space overhaul
- new game bonus
- start as ( skins sets )
- spaceships generation
- massive fleet
- sankukai space combat
- onfoot combat overhaul
- challenge mode
but they are all already doable with the script
i just lack of time to publiish them on nexus
that was crazy work, if u wonder, and no one are playing them, at least i managed to did what i wanted to do

Sometimes my freighter would change from a Venetor to a Sentinel, sometimes the freighter would be missing the middle section⦠once the ships were all black for some reasonā¦

just the pak; the lua is provided for other users to be able to compile the mod themselves (using AMUMSS, to be specific)

Heatwave effect is volumetric light refraction. (The same way real heat refracts light.)
Scorched and Lava planets can have either "Heatwave" weather or vanilla NMS "Firestorm" weather.
Normal heatwave weather will be noticeable yet mild.
Extreme weather planets will have intense heatwave.
Heatwave storms will look like you're in an oven.
Heatwave effect fades out between 0-60u speed. (Making flying not a visual nightmare.)

I don't know much about Skyrim modding, but from what I do know, they are very different. Currently you can accomplish a lot more with Skyrim modding. NMS modding is pretty easy, though, once you get the few tools setup.

Do you mean making mods or using mods?
I was talking about making mods before. If you mean using mods, it's extremely easy to do, but with large numbers of mods you would quickly get conflict issues with different mods trying to modify the same files. To resolve those conflicts, you would normally have to install one of the mod-making tools (AMUMSS or NMSMB) and use provided scripts to merge the conflicting mods. So at that point it gets less easy to learn. Once you figure it out, though, it's not bad.
Not quite Skyrim but I got some experience with Fallout 4 modding
And comparing to that, NMS is much more easier but also much more limited, at least from a casual mod consumer point of view
Having a dedicated tool to solve mod conflicts is also nice
from a modder point of view too
alot of things are impossible since all we can do is use EXML

The mod you would get would just have you purchase them from the QS store- Consumerism is what it's called
The save editors have tabs and a gui, they are pretty straightforward to figure out

nvm found one, and turns out its a defautl filter now applied on the game's map hud, which simply gets amplied terribly with FSR.
and while playing in VR, FSR helps quite a bit, and that map hud looks awful in vr up close in 3d

Best thing to do is go to nexusmods and sort by Last Updated. You can do most popular, but about half of the top hits are out of date and won't work anymore. You need to look at the updated dates

- Delete DISABLEMODS.txt
- Make a new folder named MODS inside PCBANKS
- Open the zip file you downloaded for lasagna.
- Put the .pak files from inside the .zip file into the MODS folder you made.
- Launch NMS. You should get a warning about mods.

Redmas visual overhaul is a standalone mod that only changes the visual effects ( no generation or gameplay change ) and is a particular setting on RGOG that gives realistic space and planets. which can be edited to be more "fantasy" like with rgog. With Rgog you can also add features to it ( including gameplay or generation ) or merge it with others mods (which is an AMUMSS feature )

The concept behind RGOG , which is new even for AMUMSS users, was to solve several issues that i had with my set of mods:
- too many paks ( hard to maintain )
- not very flexible ( you had tons of files to sort out and which were limited in their customisation )
- was a pain to update.
With rgog , you need 1 pak ( you chose the project that correspond the most to what you need , in this case Redmas visual overhaul ( but it can be a gameplay mod that i did or a generation mod, or a full overhaul, (you get the idea ) ) then you edit the features you want to add to it with rgog. and generate the mod that you need. ( with precise control of the features you want to add ) once NMS is updated, you only have to generate again your mod since your preferences are stored.
It is way more convinient than before. š

Okay, I've hit an impasse trying to figure something out, so am tossing my questions out in multiple places because so far, I've not found anyone able/willing to answer/explain. I'm trying to understand the positioning system used for base objects - some of it I've already puzzled out, but now I'm a little stuck.
So, Position I understand, it's simply X,Y,Z offset from the Base origin point.
For Up, I know the middle value is the Scale multiplier, and my best guess is the other 2 values are meant to represent angles as a percentage of 360deg. Questions the First: Is this correct, and if so what are the reference points used? ie, does the horizontal angle start with 0 being straight out from the Base Computer screen, or its opposite? And does it measure clockwise, or counter? Ditto on those Q's for the vertical.
That leaves At. Again guessing, that the middle value represents length for things like wires, and is basically null for most objects. So the last 2 values should be another angular measurement, giving vector for wires, and that's as far as logic has gotten me. So again, am I correct? If so, are the At angular values measured from the object, or from base origin? And lastly, how do these values affect most objects? Will increasing them result in the base object becoming twisted in some fashion?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated, and thank you.

For this you'll need to learn a bit about matrix and vector maths. Position you have correct. Up represents the "Up" vector, you can think of this as an arrow pointing vertically upwards from how the part is rotated. The "At" vector represents the forward vector - think of this as an arrow pointing out from the front of the part. Using cross product you can calculate the other vector which represents the "sideways facing arrow". All these three vectors you can construct a transformation matrix which represents the full position and orientation of a base part.
If the vectors are normalized the scaling of the base part is default. If you multiply these vectors you can scale the base part.

One thing to add to that, is the scaling. This used to, or should be done on all three axis, but for some time now only the Y-axis is used in the object data. This results in some funky behaviour where an object has the correct height, but appears slim and short on the other axis when viewed in Blender. You can actually even observe this same behaviour in MP as well, just prior to a scaled object actually being placed (preview placement). Once placed, the game just forces the other axis without adjusting the object data for X, and Z.

It also gets a bit more complex with the cable parts. They use the At and Up vectors in a very particular way to get them placed properly.

I remember where I had to adjust the placement of the end position closer or further away depending on scale, but has been slightly changed in how this is done

Before frontiers, the default length unit of a cable part was 1.0. After Frontiers they changed it to 0. In all my tools I had to compensate for this offset.

15 months since Frontiers, and I'm flabbergasted that I've had the most success in finding a glitch to extend SRT cables back out - to a grand total of +60-65u, only 1735u short of what I used to take for granted. XD

If you are using the "Redmas visual overhaul" or mods using it ( aka all my overhauls ) , you have to enable the depth of field in the lense tab during photomode - otherwise everything will be blury when you try to take a picture in photomode ( you only have to do it once )
