anyone know if any mods will prevent a completed expedition save from converting to a normal one? I finished Polestar earlier today , and it says it will convert, but after using a save point a couple times and closing and reopening the game, it still shows as an expedition save

That... actually looks very interesting. The only downside is the starter planet type. Don't we always start in some nasty place that sucks? I would jump in with no delay if I was sure the starter planet was a 'lush' type.

FYI, I think your ReLight 3.8 has an issue. I had v3.7 running before, and copied over 3.8 today before loading, and it crashed until I pulled 3.8 out of the mod folder.

make sure you re-delete the mod file that blocks mods from working
if you get the mod warning that means the game detects mods
that means you still have shit in your MODS folder
verifying game integrity prolly just added back the DISBALEMODS txt
you prolly just need to double check and check your mods again

A Save Editor can get you those 'Legacy' objects back, at least for those still existing and available for saves still having them. These only disappeared from new saves

oh that makes me feel better, I spent a good amount of time looking at everything and didn't see that. It's amazing. I just made a NMS how to use mods guide too. Wish I know it was there. Why isn't the vortex option available for it? It makes life so much easier.
vortex has a habit of not placing the files properly and it makes the game unable to detect the paks
also we need a pak for each option and it makes separate uploads multiply in annoyingness
so some just zip everything in one file and upload that
and vortex doesn't like that
not to mention most mods have luas which you just use AMUMSS anyway
and manual install is a manner of drag and drop
Yeah I figure, But the main issue to more adaption of mods is that process and vortex just does it for you. It would be nice to get them to do a better job VS trying to teach each new mod user how to do it. I spend most by days teaching how to do minecraft mods for bedrock and if they struggle with how easy that is, I don't think this is an easy fight to win. We had around 900 new creators this weekend alone for 3 or so of us offering support for example.

Eucli-ea uses custom object IDs for its custom objects because the game naturally doesn't have IDs for stuff that it didn't make

Hi, I am playing on M&K with 'Tethered normal'. I do find having combined roll and rudder (in flight) a bit annoying . Are there any mods that make roll and rudder independent from each other while in tethered normal mode?

I need some way to be able to regenerate massive amounts of deformed terrain because I basically took the top of a mountain off to put a base and decided I wanted to move

you can always just delete everything but the first entry and see if it works
Yeah you'd go into each single block delete the entries but leave the top preface at the top so that it has the ability to produce a new edit and still have the proper nomenclature at the top to be able to tag it

I'd have times where animals would simply go missing and I'd have to go in and edit the position so I'd go into a file find the config of the position and switch it out

So would you go into each one of the folders and delete the entry or just go into the terrain edits folder at the very top and delete those entries

Ah makes sense because otherwise if you only deleted it from the one folder it would still be referencing the changes in the other and it could cause an error
from what I can extrapolate the folders are different data types and each entry is just a an entry in a list
so you'd delete from each list everything but the top one
getting head, fine LOD, arghwater, gmech max, gdoor (pronounced g'door like "g'day"), companion pet unlocker, gcreatures (pet egg timers and pet size in anomaly, i like to make them maximum size) EISS or hypershop, definitely right with BBB as we can put exocrafts in freighters again. and maybe some ship flight mod.

And I remember part of why I gave up on this. They didn't bother to create localization text for half these filters and just used "Default" because they weren't planning on making them available. So you have to create localization text for any you want to turn on, if you don't want them named Default

As mentioned, those are just the data types used by the mbin's. There are no default values. You need to find an actual mbin that uses that struct to see what value it has. At the bottom of the list of fields you may see a list of Parents, those are other struct's that use the selected struct in a field. You can double-click on a Parent, and it's Parent, and so on, to finally get to a top-level struct i.e. one used as a root type for a mbin (the structs in bold). Once you get to a top-level struct you will see a list of MBIN's below the list of fields, double-click on one to open it in a PAK Items tab for viewing. Some structs may not have Parents or MBIN's, they are struct's that are used by NMSTemplate fields; NMSTemplate is the base type for all other mbin struct types, so it can reference any struct. The only way to find parents for those structs would be to look through every mbin to see what types are actually used by the NMSTemplate fields.

I can try it but I can tell you that it will be like mixing them with grey. I think .5 would be basically grey. Iโll have to remake textures and try.

If you look VERY closely at the pics above, look at the ends of a colored line...you will see it's grey. In the DDS, that grey part is the color at alpha 0.5
That's why my guess is it would be grey.
I would have to do it to prove it, and you might be right. It's just how the shader is dealing with it and all of the parts of the tunnel.

... what's the dds path for the lines ? Could be the ends are rgb grey and just happen to also have a < 1 i.e. the grey isn't a function of the shader but of the actual color in the dds
@rapid sandal They are custom lines. This is an up close pic. If you look at the bottom of the orange bar, you can see the b/w square where I'm using the color picker. Look at the alpha and color. The file is attached if you want to look. I have since "fixed" these edges, but the point is that it is alpha color there and appears grey in the scene. There is a lot more going on in the tunnel than a black background.
This is after cleaning up the alpha edges on the DDSs. No more grey. Much cleaner edge.

And this is what I was talking about, that in the editor it appears as if the pixels are background but they are actually grey w/ A > 0. The 2 pixels beyond the color have A = 1, then they become A = 0. The A = 1 pixels are grey and I would expect that they are what give any grey end-cap.

I use gGame Hot to extend the range on the hotspot scanner, then find the closest power hotspot. If it's more than 1000u from the base computer, use gBase to expand the base boundary, build the EM generators, connect them back to your main building area, then you can remove both mods and it will still all work

Yeah, maybe. I found a mod that does this (Power Plus), but it doesn't say it is compatible with Endurance. I'll try it later today just in case it still works. Its does include a lua, so maybe if it is broken it can be fixed on the fly

The whole seed is everything, there's no way to split it up and get anything useful out of it.

Seeds are not used in programming that way. They are used to define a lot of different things, but as a whole. Not a part defining 1 thing and another part defining 1 other thing etc.
You could almost think of it as a form of compression. Once you compress something then it has to be decompressed to have useful data. A part of a compressed data is useless.

e.g to get a color from a palette of 64 colors they may take the seed multiply by X, then shift the bits left Y times, then take the result mod 64 to get the index in the palette ... or some other more complex formula to get the index from the seed.

if you're trying to unlock previous expedition rewards, you need to do that (talking about nomnom's interface here) in the edit account section under season rewards, then you will need to save account, and then you should be able to claim those.

okay i tried testing what the peak is for positron ejector upgrades using the wiki and a save editor. the seed 48604 is supposed to give me 4% dmg,. 20% fire rate and 20% heat dispersion. but when i enter the game it only gives 2% damage, 10 % of both fire rate and heat dispersion
did they change something without us knowing?

prefered mod manager? like i want to quickly disable all mods and enable some..and then disable some..
Im using "Joew's Mod manager"
Most of us here recommend just doing it manually. Have a backup folder inside MODS and just move things in and out of there
i see... and also create a folder shortcut to that location.. and place that somewhere accessible.. that will also be cool
this game is too simple to mod to worry about using a manager
just drop pak files into a folder and bam done
HG is awesome for letting it be that easy(letting mods be a thing in general is great too)
yep, drag and drop is too easy for a mod manager, and AMUMSS/NMSMB is too complex for it
there's just no need for one because a manager is just not suitable for what we do
