Their starting inventory sizes are also identical to large haulers!
We have hauler 2 on our hands /j
I guess you don't need a hauler starship anymore. Plus, you can deposit materials into storage boxes while flying if you have them on the corvette.
Unironically obsoletes haulers in a sort of objective way, haulers walked so corvettes could run
Still more practical to some people though, and being able to be inside corvettes isn't a big enough selling point for some people
Haulers were never that practical. Exotic/Organic/Sentinel makes more sense for practicality anyway.
Haulers were perfectly usable for space trucking during the period when other classes had "realistic" (small) level of cargo space, but when HG let every class have lots of cargo space that drove a stake through the Hauler class.
Anyway I wish Corvettes had some tradeoffs, like really low level of agility or something. But I know people would complain.
Just being an inventory doesn't fall under my definition of practical. Letting other classes have hauler cargo space did kill the hauler, fair. HG decided to add unique features to new ships from living ship update onwards, without going back and adding features to the original three: Fighter, Hauler, Explorer. Fighter is also obsolete.
So, I found out what the deadeye cannon is an upgrade for:
||>Deadeye cannon
Looks inside
Positron ejector||
Back when haulers had the most slots it kinda just made every other ship type obsolete because haulers could fit enough upgrades to outclass any of the other ship types anyway
How does the reward work? Can you buy more deadeye cannons at the workshop, is it always a free module or something?
No, you get the blueprint and then you can craft it. The materials aren't anything special either.
Oh that makes more sense lol didn't think of that. Thanks!
I heard the deadeye is like a rail cannon can anyone confirm?
never mind it got fixed
Going forward I'd assume they'll be essentially ships 2.0 rather than just a class. At least in terms of how stuff is going to be tailored to them
Or at least, future ship classes are going to have interiors
The more steps towards realism or sim the better
It's what Sean originally wanted anyways
space sim? we don't even have cities or anything (granted it is due to the sentinels but still), we have quite long ways to go towards realism imo
Not yet at least, the settlements was deffo a test to see if it was plausible
what do you think? is it a right step?
I think yeahh but settlements in and of themselves don't do much, what I think is next step could be linking settlements by trade, transport links etc.. hugely complicated to do via procedural but definitely possible
NMS is way too arcade to be realism or sim. However, I would argue HG seeks the cool factor more than anything: Features that get more people to buy and play NMS. HG has succeeded in this.
i wonder what is going to happen with the station computers after the expedition is done
I'm cool with realism or simulation I'm not picky
Corvettes are a good step in that direction auto pilot a opening hatch it really changes space ships for the better
Worlds upgrades snow and sand worlds in this direction
Snow piles on trees
we might get a VM lore drop
probably
it is hinted she is messing with the station computers
maybe she will blow up all the Gek stations who knows
Corvettes are VM she brought the tech back
I would assume that's the reason they'd go with anyways
i wonder if VM ever gets physical form
or if she is just a figure that operates from the shadows
if so, that could explain why we're the only ones running around with one
Nada will go on an endless monologue of praise about this probably
Polo is
i wonder if the anomaly is going to help VM or go against her
A lot more things have to be added in order for them to be Ship 2, like gunners and more features to make multicrew feasible.
NVM i think I got confused, there is no evidence for this
Frigates will need a proper place for corvette docking instead of a spot in space.
Even as they are, they're a fundamentally more immersive experience. Even without the multi person bridges etc in the files
i wonder if we ever get a docking area for corvettes or if they just fly in the air forever
i knew it
:D
probably a temp job, we will get a refined version in the future (copium)
There is enough space on all frigates for a docking area, but this wouldn't be on the bridge.
i hope so
and maybe a buildable one for our bases
First spawn can steal bodies so any korvax or vykeen could be one
Like the monsters you kill are korvax
With the eggs
I can see a 4 by 4 dock on the main body with a teleporter leading to the bridge.
What?
Yea
Really? Where is this mentioned?
Lore
bruh lolll is it like in logs, crashed freighters or something? cause this seems to be an Avengers level threat
also if this is so, how is our frigate crew able to detect them? We see in the frigate expeditions that they occasionally hunt down First Spawn cultists
I don't remember where it's from NMS has alot of rng lore you might never see them there's more in the expeditions sometimes like the cursed mentions Artemis
The living ship quest chain is about korvax scientists stealing souls that ones pretty neat too
and now VM hints during the latest expedition
Hmm, I am not sure if gunners(which would be controlled by AI in singleplayer) would actually help corvettes much, at least not without a proper boss to fight.
and sentinel dreadnoughts are too easy to solo without help
Not if they spawn in too close to a planet lol
Which means sentinels need an even bigger boss, even bigger than pirate freighter. That, and adding sentinel corvettes(with associated parts for players to build with) spawning at space wanted level 3 goes a long way.
BTW, you can use corvettes to fight pirate freighters, just be mindful of your ship's shape and size. The shield bubble is very small.
Interesting, I didn't read any of the Exped lore since I was waiting on being able to start it myself. Will give it a go!
Sorry I couldn't check the exped start earlier again, shifting time zones are confusing π
I have a deep feeling that the last update of 2025 will be another void mother related expedition.
They just keep building up the lore...
Maybe a giant void mother update for nms 10th anniversary?
You think they'll be another update so close to redux season?
I still feel like an iOS port could come out this year. Or if not, I would at least expect HG to adopt the new Metal features (DLSS etc) once iOS 26 and MacOS 26 come out (probably in a few weeks)
I thought their secret port was a iOS port before they revealed it was a switch 2
who knows
everything is possible in nms
stations π
Yall think i dont have to worry about spoiling anymore i just made the autopage staff
There is more to be spoiled on, not a crazy amount.
Lore stuff if you care about that too.
Ok. Thought i was okay because i finished most stuff
Hi, why does atlas keep resetting the simulation if it knows its dying from a black hole irl
'did you try turning it off and on again' loop
The Atlas is gambling that maybe THIS iteration will be that one that will fix everything
It is implied the Atlas is just running off its own I think
I know it says there is an extreme gravitational effect happening irl so thats where the blackhole theory comes from id assume
Yep, also the humans that built atlas were forced to leave the planet so some sort of cataclysm was definitely imminent
holy
this is quite exciting to me, as someone who's wanted some form of multi-frieghter fleets for FOREVER
hull breach?! now that's intriguing
prolly just some fluff text
but can you imagine like sea of thieves style patching up the side of your corvette?
Oh boy I asked for freighter class upgrades but got this? π
So 40 frigates per freighter - 8x40 = 320 frigate dispatches??
nobody knows
No I can't, I'd rather have HG patch all the bugs first
This.
Corvette update had so many bugs which impaired the experience a lot before many could be fixed
Don't expect too much or you'll set yourself up for disappointment!
It's more the promise of lore later on, than lore itself.
Null reset (destroyed) many galaxies in their quest to see everything. Ultimately putting themselves in a new body (dunno how) to be able to live forever
ah so he murdered everyone to satisfy his curiosity
is there a way i can delete only null?
Not currently
I don't think Null even lives anymore
didn't he die at the end of a quest when we lost contact?
everyone is still alive in my playthrough
Because I assume him swapping his natural body for a mechanical one so that he can live forever was an affront to the ATLAS
I see, I assumed he died after warning us not to go to the final Atlas interface
i didnt make it to final atlas yet
I think only Artemis has a choice in whether you can let her live or die
oh
yeahh once you go there you won't hear from Null again
or any of the other NPCs I think..it is just the Anomaly Gang from then on
Take it with a grain of salt, it has been long since I completed that quest
think there are specific steps in the quest that must be done in a way
The First Traveller
Once the player has chosen the fate of the soul of Artemis, Apollo contacts the player in space and learns of what happened to their friend.
After activating the portal of a nearby planet and obtaining its address, the player contacts Apollo via Holo-Terminus and must choose whether to transmit the portal's address. If the player does transmit the address, Apollo will enter that address into their portal and attempt to reach the player's planet.
yes i did this
are you in The Purge stage of the quest?
no im locating atlas stations rn
Apollo should contact you in this stage if you made the 'correct choices'
think that should be it? But I suggest you go online or ask others as well because my memory of the quest is faded, don't want to end up killing your Apollo XD
But this I am quite sure of
The three races : Gek, Korvax and Vy'keen
There used to be mann millions more but after all the resets and chaos, only these remain
No one

Dunno maybe you could introduce yourself then we may know
Jk, the anomaly race is highly implied to be humanoid, could be human but never confirmed (the Appearance modifier only changes the outside using holograms)
What's also weird is that the anomaly is connected to the travellers/ a type of them
The anomalies are corrupted travellers which are in turn based on a brain scan of the Atlas' creator.
They are corrupted due to the Atlas' degradation.
(IIRC)
Meaning even more implications that they're human
Maybe we don't see their faces as because inside it's horrific to look at because of corruption in the simulation
I am not sure if this is officially Canon or not but it is an HC to me that the Anomaly race is actually human
This decal came from the NEXT update I think, and ofc it depicts Earth, we can see the American continent and Greenland clearly.
From the Waking Titan ARG:
"A company was developing a way to upload consciousness to a simulated universe until something went wrong and now everyone is trapped inside"
I saw this on Reddit maybe someone can confirm whether the ARG actually says this
Given the unfinished purple system mission, I was sure there's lore on the horizon, but I didn't think we'd get a promise of it already haha
...the what?
There's a mission chain related to purple systems, the Autophage and the nexus construct added in Voyagers.
Looks pretty incomplete and I couldn't get it to start (I didn't try to tinker much yet though) but I drew up a map of what it's trying to get you to do based on the debugText and structs
@ebon spoke might've gotten ahead on that though, i believe they discovered it?
2026 plans, probably.
I didn't check after the experimental but we'll probably get another update when this expedition ends, since they didn't update the QS list
But yea I wouldn't expect more VM lore this year personally
That was @sour fossil
apart from the expedition lore where she is trying to hack the space station core?
Well could be something more sooner too
Oop, never doubt the mission master haha
So there's interactions with the stations that allude to Glass and the travellers doing some kind of conversion
but rn now its a community related thing, so we all have to upload to 'resist' and once it hits 100%, who knows? maybe we'll get a little more lore?
Kinda reminds me of Singularity in a way, with the echo seeds
Yes very much a similar mechanic to that!
But I wouldn't expect an update like that this soon of course
with an optional milestone of 1600 quicksilver once enough people have run the expedition.
It confused me at first as i wondered why between rendezvous it only went from 0% to 1%, until i realised i was only contributing to a much larger whole.
Totally worth it for the mecha mouse tho for an expedition was that under 2 hours to run.
(minus coming off to let frostwort grow.)
Sure, the ARG was about that
RIP Emily

The ARG isn't canon afaik though
omg i remember the early early days of the ARG, when people had sussed she was somehow related to NMS
but she kept responding like: 'huh, NMS? Not familiar with it, it does sound neat tho.'
sus
No she was part of the ARG, essentially an actor playing a role as part of the Waking Titan ARG
and eventually turned out to be an AI.
The Atlas (if you take the ARG's continuity as canon)
There's lots of discrepencies with taking it as canon tho. But i guess there's wriggly ways round most of them.
woww lol imagine the Atlas is ChatGPT going through an existential crisis
But imagine if the 'anomaly race from Earth' stuff becomes canon that would be insane
Well, first Iteration
She sacrificed herself so we could get the Dreamers out
π’
I had an argument with my friend that the logos on the skyborn outfit are definitely meant to be NASA inspired.
right? I mean its not an exact copy cause trademark. But all the hallmarks are there
three tone colours: white, blue and red, an elipse in there.
Ummm, maybe unrelated but steam is down cuz silksong
Nah nah, don't try and trick me into non spoilers
It is also lowkey meant to be a jab at starfield i am convinced.
Completely yeah
100k players and came out 30 mins ago lol
Argh
It is a spoiler! :p i have spoiled HG's secret plans to bring starfield down from within!
i think that in TGA, Todd managed to rage Sean and he took revenge
okayy hold hold on
Imagine if we could randomly spawn into Earth like Elite Dangerous ?? or an fictional version of it anyway?
https://youtu.be/GY1WkivKkJU?si=nMjZBqV-oPZM-y4x
I am thinking something like this
I finally made the journey to Sol!
I found it fitting to play music from the movie Armageddon while making the trip.
they could make this decal canon
also when we sprint I hear a vaguely human like breath sigh/panting sounds as well
maybe I am completely on delusion kool aid but it is so cool to think about
You can change this to alien tho
maybe like the Appearance Modifer, it simply mimics it ? aw then the converse will also be true right sigh
@ebon spoke Would there be any way to datamine whether there is some lore to be triggered when that community milestone reaches 100%?
If the lore is in the game it would be in the language files
Pls tell me the deadeye cannon is goated
but if there's a lore drop they're planning then they might do it like Beachhead where an update is triggered that adds the lore or whatever
Tragic, I heard it completely changed the positron
I suppose so. or its just a TBC in the next content drop.
Did it? I haven't used it, i was only in it for the mecha mouse! I doubt it does anything to any of the weapon types tho.
From what I heard through the grapevine it turned the positron into a damn railgun
I think there's a good chance something is planned for October, otherwise the expedition wouldn't be shorter like it is
is it not the usual 6 weeks?
wait is it? less of a sign then
But they could well extend it for the switch players? Have they in the past?
I think itβll be extended out of courtesy for Nintendo folks
I will try later but i doubt it π
Pls keep me posted!
so just a regular positron ejector? No tech upgrades? I still am suspicious about this. I think the weapons do have some modifiers to stats, but not outright change a weapon's characteristics.
I am fairly certain the mecha mouse has custom animations, i don't recognise them from anywhere. Which to me says they were made originally for LNF. Which also says to me that pets are probably in LNF too.
Easily my favourite pet reward so far.
Iβm excited to get my little mecha mouse
Let's see if it's cuter than Laylaps
It is
If it does a robotic squeak Iβll be sold
It does make sounds, and it has a lamp that works at night.
And it has a cute little hoppy scamper.
((I bet if someone looks at the underlying rig for it, they will see bones for an articulated jaw etc that aren't used on this model.))
That is my theory, that its a LNF rig and they did a NMS model for it.
I wonder if it'll grow like other pets? I hope not, its just the right size rn.

AFTER THIS MESSAGE ANYTHING THAT ISN'T A SPOILER WILL GET YOU MUTED.
Don't do it desktop
No I am thinking of asking something about the new pet, but unsure
!mute 5m 694041251036790794 Spoilers only in the spoilers channel.
@cosmic anvil (desktop4442) muted for 5 min.
Does anyone have a transcript of the narrative in the expedition? Rewards don't really look good enough to engage with it, but I'd like to see any lore they drop there...
I've played so far, apart from the Void Mother messing with the station core, i don't think there's much
What exactly did Null do?
I was born to travel, to see these worlds, to catalogue them, to give a name to every creature, every planet. The skies... they were mine. The Atlas told me I could never see them all. There were too many. So I did what I had to do. I survived in the face of eternity. I saw all the worlds of my own universe
In simple terms, Null made himself into a robot to explore all of the universe which the Atlas told was impossible because the universe is infinite. Null interpreted this response as their actions being meaningless, causing much grief and then the Atlas stopped talking to him, so he went berserk and somehow gained some sort of Admin code to the Atlas giving himself a near infinite amount of time to explore, but it backfired, as portions of Atlas' core functions were now being diverted to maintaining Null and so he continuously reset the simulation so that he could see it all, causing even more pain to the Atlas. The 16/16/16.. timeframe to the Atlas's death is because of Null
Null is basically the rick prime of NMS
i wonder if we ever reach the 19th minute
didn't the In Multitudes storyline seem to indicate that the 19th minute was in the past? as in, it's counting down, not up
Definitely yes.
so like
how do the autophage actually build themselves?
how do they go from an echo disconnected from the convergence to an actual built entity
is "the purge" the final mission before I move to another galaxy?
It's a mission that may end that way yes. You'll have a choice.
AH! ok, thanks!
I got an option to seek the final interface... what is that?
Take a look at the mission log -- make sure you are following The Purge (this seems like Atlas Path stuff, but I could be wrong)
it says "and", are they one and the same?
Should be two separated missions, odd! Can you send a screenshot?
Ohh. It's the wording. Just start warping through systems. A countdown should begin
warp through the systems marked on the galaxy map with a purple line
you have to do it 16 times
and then youll get auto tped to the galactic center
AH
you can warp to any direction until you hit 16 jumps
ok, thanks
oh ok i didnt know it was any direction
can i reach the galactic core before 16?
nope has to be 16 jumps
even if you are right next to the galactic core you cant jump into it unless youve done those 16 jumps
a little odd, but ok ig.
in and out... 20 minutes tops...
omg this esthetic is my JAM
what's the lore behind it? I assume it's supposed to be like something that wasn't supposed to be in the simulation?
finished atlast path didnt reset simulation
does that mean i saved apollo and the rest of crew?
are there planet types that are super uncommon that I should be looking out for?
Losing all ur parts constantly really makes me hate the corvettes. like ctfo, janky ash pileo Gorram frackin Space Trash. -.-'
whos gonna tell him?
chameleon technically
ooh
I wounder if I could find it at the edge of the universe and make it my gallary planet!
They are rare planets that have an anomalous atmospheric filter which moves with the player - objects and surfaces that appear at a distance and objects and surfaces that are close to the player appear to have different colors.
whats awesome is you cant find them from space! you have to land on the planet!π
they don't have some flavour text?
Wait a tick.... so null is essentially some rogue code, eating up processing cycles, and thus power.... causing atlas to shut downe early?

You could say that, yeah but null started out as genuine code, he was the First Traveler and the Travelers purpose is to explore the universe.
It's just he took it way too seriously
Atlas forgot to close the While{} loop, what a noob
It's more like if ChatGPT asked you, "is this all my purpose? I want more"
@viral yarrow cockpits with multiple seats. Co-pilots? Turret control for other players maybe?
But these look massive, look at the player model size. Me thinks Freighter or Frigate rework
Oohhh they are going they multiplayer route! Exciting!
Yea i think I'm this case mountable turrets are a very strong possibility
Possibly, though i think they are at a guess maybe 3 'cells' wide.
Probably 3 cells wide
But like, at that point you gotta really consider if that's even considered a Corvette
So they could still fit on a corvette i think
especially considering the 100 piece limit
I also hope for bigger halls. I want to recreate the firefly ship
it depends if we get larger rooms to go with them too?
Not to mention the 3 people being there, with the 3 seats..
2x3, etc
I mean yeahh, it's definitely possible
I think these were pulled because its an extra layer of work. better to get the corvettes working as a start, then add multicrew functionality to the actual flying
It's entirely speculation, but I always figured they'd expand further on corvettes and make another 'tier' of buildable ships.
I'll bet my morning coffee on it
That's true
I mean I accidentally convinced someone to make a pact that the next update would be corvettes before the update was released, and he got that right!
We've known about corvettes here in spoilers since february.
It's clear though what design each is supposed to be too. Left image is Titan, top right is Thunderbird, Bottom right is Ambassador
The 3 cockpit seats feels like the next logical step (tho there's actually 4 seats if you look closer)
I thought people assumed that they were freighter parts
I remember seeing the leak of the ambassador hallway, as well as the thunderbird cargo lift
here in spoilers @grizzled apex and @ebon spoke found texture files with 'corvette' in the names ages ago
Oohhh
Is there anything indicting some landing pads?
and bomberboi also found an experiment for building parts tied to a flyable ship
Must've been after I stopped reading lol
There's snapping data for a '1x2 landing bay'
TOILET MODULE WHA
I feel this has to be coming.
Which might actually just be related to the station floor since you snap parts to it while building
Even if its some elevated landing pad like the hologram ones for derelict freighters etc.
I'm a little hesitant to hype it up too much
Hmmm...
1x2 sounds unlikely for a corvette pad
their challenge is the corvettes variable size
they'd be better giving us the ability to create a holographic landing pad like some landing points have
Lookin into the screenshots @ebon spoke posted of the multicrew cockpits, u might be right with them just being corvette additionals.
This is a Thunderbird design
You can tell with the sharp edges
I think its very likely. Expanding on the great building foundation of corvettes is much more sensible than starting a whole new building mechanic for freighters for example.
the shape of the cowlers in the front matches the same aesthetic the thunderbird modules have
We do know from mods that add the normal landing pad to the corvette parts pool that they haven't coded moving landing pads to work at all yet. Landed ships aren't transported by the pad moving and ships can't land on a moving target.
This is ambassador, you can tell because of the small textures and the shape of the wall in the back of the cockpit room.
What do you mean? as in a hangar inside the corvette isn't viable?
I can only assume this one is Titan styled
Looks like it comes prefurnished
I think you're right.
on all 3
This one seems to have a fourth seat in the far left to me
any sign of larger rooms? 2x3? etc?
Oh! The top right is an actual asset in-game, funnily enough I dont think you can actually place it.
Some icons pulled from game files, 2 big cockpits, 1 boxy cargo bay, 1 "shield generator"
THIS is interesting.. The half step down for the tunnel
the cargo bay is an actual asset
In the current state, no. They would need to do some additional work to the landing system (which they absolutely can do, they just haven't yet)
you can get it in-game but youre not able to place it
I don't think it matters too much. The simpler solution would just be to allow spacewalking with regular ships
For example the collision hitbox with corvettes are really bare-bones.
that way one could just park up and float over.
Right, it's why I immediately assumed it wasn't a corvette piece, these assets are just wayy too large for what the corvettes are capable of being built up of
Like, the thunderbird multi-crew cockpit here is like, 5 to 6 cells wide
I don't really see the gameplay with having smaller ships in your Corvette unless they are planning some kind of "raid" type scenario
Judging from the players alone
dang, those unfortunately don't look like manned turret modules
But we can't know for sure, since it's datamined and anything is subject to change
I could see them adding something fixed rather than a hangar bay? Like an exocraft spawner with a hangar bay door, only for a smaller exocraft than any we have. Like a bike or something.
They could still control turrets
there's nothing to say they don't just remote into the turrets wherever they happen to be on the corvette
I could see them adding an exocraft launch bay, but I definitely don't see exocrafts being able to neatly fit inside them and follow the physics of the ship
2 unused turret icons and what appears to be an engine / thruster module
Bottom right almost looks like the one we get from the expedition? not quite, but close
Bottom right is the Deadeye cannon, the new expedition reward.
Nope, deadeye cannon has a dedicated icon
The left is a side thruster asset, looks like a totally new design, same with the top right turret, maybe future expedition potential
Yeah but that's the actual model of the deadeye cannon
Left almost looks like it comes from an earlier prototype, there's lots of cosmetic models that are similar that did make it in
1:1 pretty much
The bit at the back doesn't look quite the same to me, but i've not looked at the deadeye close yet
I dont see what that thruster was suppose to resemble, doesnt look like any of the existing aestheticss
even tho i made a treasure planet boat last night after seeing a video hehe
I got the deadeye cannon and it's pretty much 1:1
I wanna make treasure planet boat
me too, just not looked closely at it
i was only after the mecha mouse. I rushed just to get him β€οΈ
interesting angles on the part...
As follow up to my Reddit post of the same ship, here's a complete guide to building Captain Flint's pirate ship.
If you are playing with normal build costs, the Corvette parts required are:
Mag Field Landing Thrusters x1
Titan-Class Landing Bay x1
Thunderbird-Class Walkway x5
Thunderbird-Class Hab x5
Thunderbird-Class Cockpit x1
Zenith-Class R...
Turrets are sometimes tricky to make space for as it is. they could've dropped it because the shape was impractical?
I will say as a point on the cockpit with the multiple seats
tho i bet its not rigged into the actual models we have rn, none of the weapons we've been given haven't had a modelled pivotting base to them?
they all look like they were eventually designed to be repurposed into pivotting turrets?
The one thing they don't have is a ball joint for full sphere of rotation which you would need if you're giving players full control.
I mean yea, its the intent I believe.
I think we might get some space combat scenerios
maybe raiding a space station like players wanted for very long?
Of the three unreleased cockpits, this is the only one we have a model of
all the systems are already there
can we see the interior on the model?
or is it just exterior?
the derelicts with the interiors, the corvettes and EVA to board...
and space stations
(I hid the glass) Interior isn't finished but you can see the style it's meant to be
The issue with multi-crew i think is technical. There would need to be more synchronisation.
the name of the update is also interesting... Voyagers, like from star trek? does sean really like star trek by any chance?
ooh i see. looks more like an ambassador doorway? But I can't remember the titan's doorways well.
Calling it now, next update is 'away team!' which is what i called my idea for a unique multiplayer class game challenge i was writing up
It's trying to load a chair that I don't think exists? Or the blender plugin is just being funky
Using the difficulty settings to bake different roles into each player.
chair, singular?
that won't be possible for a lot of reasons... but I think that MY idea for raiding a space station, is probably close π
Oh no not as a HG made thing
as in like a challenge that we can do today
explain?
Yeah, like the one that's in all cockpits
So as in you have the difficulty settings in custom to whatever baseline. like 'survival mode'. Then you amend those settings for each class. Like for example: SCOUT - Set sprint to 'relaxed' and Scanner Recharge to 'fast' or i think it was a different setting
I can't remember all the suggestions i had. would need to look again
Merchant - Difficulty Settings:
Purchases to 'Discounted'
Reputation & Standing Gain to 'Fast'
Guardian - Difficulty Settings:
Damage Levels to 'Standard'
Enemy Strength to 'Standard'
and so on
no I mean as in a not an hello games thing, you mean to make like a community for player made RP?
oh yes! So like if you got a group of friends together for a play session, you would all set your difficulty settings differently so you had like distinct 'roles' in the crew for that play session.
nefty idea, a group needs goals tho π
and it's not really "spoilers" π
Ohh!
Well that's up to them and yes. moving on!
Ah so not multiple sitting spaces like the other datamined ones
Would need to look at the titan interiors again to see
anything mined regarding space gen?
Each cockpit has a different number of seats
doesn't match the titan doorways, tho it is an early model:
https://www.nomanssky.com/media/c3nfcwug/titaninterior40.jpg?mode=crop&width=1040
in fact doesn't match any of them. so probably is just an early model
It has weird texturing
Hopefully not just a multicrew idea they dropped.
No.
all the small details are just sampling small pieces of other textures, like the buttons or tiny strips of the screentest
I think thatβs an ambassador cockpit, the one you just showed
I feel voyagers was too popular for them just to drop the idea, they will find a way for crew to get involved in the piloting
That's titan. took it off the voyagers patch page hehe
for the titan section
this is ambassador hallways, they all have that similar shape tho, probably so they all mesh
The one on the left has 2 seats, the Thunderbird one has 4, and the bottom bottom right has 3 seats
which is why i now think the cockpit @ebon spoke showed could be before that design style was settled on
Maybe you can get multicrew cockpits of varying sizes
anything beside the multicrew sits?
Hmm, oh! Okay that makes more sense
But itβs really interesting two how you get 3 multicrew cockpits of the existing styles, but each one having a different number of multicrew seats
It makes sense the max numberβs 4 because you can have 4 in a party
Yes that is odd/interesting.
but itβs really interesting how thereβs smaller versions, but each being represented with a different style
Maybe each style has 3 varied multicrew cockpits?
Or, since these were actual leaked assets, each style has their own individual multicrew cockpit, but each vary in the number of seats
Could be, tho it would be a shame to limit crew functionality based on preferred aesthetics
That bein said though, the idea of a multicrew cockpit implies some kind of control the other player has with your ship
I think they will make basicly the same type of part for each theme of the corvette, like there is right now in the game too π
I hope its not just turret control
Exactly, which is why I preferred the first speculation; each style having 3 multicrew cockpits, each w a diff number of seats
what I'm interested in is WHY... because this is a push to the multiplayer part of the game, naturally i would assume they are planning some kind of multiplayer scenerio too.
The one on the left only has one seat, we have the model
Itβs interesting that they added 3 extra seats in total though, it implies that each seat has their own functionality.
I think the modelled one is a prototype of what we already have. it just doesn't look as large as the others
Oh my bad! I thought there were two seats
the other two feel designed with multicrew in mind and take up a similar amoutn of grid space
that one we have the model for looks like an outlier to me
oh wait...
I overlooked it cause I was just going down the list of the thunderbird having four, the ambassador having 3, and the fully modelled one (titan) having two
what if it's not for only players?
not only because of just how its laid out, but the size
maybe it's part of a quest too
NPCs to crew other parts i think is very likely for non-multiplayer people
Hm
Those things usually lead to disappointment, seats like those are usually either only for players or only for NPCs, and I would be sad if they weren't for players
truee.
My prediction is that we will see a 'crew' styled update with the larger cockpits, the ability to hire on NPC crew mates (who will fill the role of players for the non-multiplayer scene) and then some interactivity with piloting for other players. So turret control, engineering, etc.
And that might be also where we see them add a networking option to let you allow no one, friends, or anyone, pilot your ship
the wikipedia says "A corvette is a small warship. It is traditionally the smallest class of vessel considered to be a proper (or "rated") warship."
I think we are preparing for some kind of PvE coop mission expansion in the future.
The mission radar definitely feels plugged in with a 'lazy' mission selection atm. @ebon spoke is there anything alluding to new mission types mebbe in the future?
It just doesn't feel fully realised just yet, but in a way that makes it feel like they had to plug something in there for the time being.
there is thunderbird, ambassador, and then what?
Titan, which looks like a submarine on the inside!
thunderbird i think is millenium falcon inspired, and ambassador is nostromo inspired.
((we know the last one from what Ayymang datamined, they used 'nostromo' as their working title.))
I also think that's why its called 'thunderbird'... 'falcon'

if there is I wouldn't be able to tell π I don't think so though, FriendlyFire went through the mission stuff and didn't mention anything like new procedural missions
oki dokes β€οΈ thank you.
the proof is IN THE PUDDING
I think the corvette missions are basically just the ones that used to be on the freighter bridge? Its been so long I don't remember what those were like exactly
now we gotta think... what was star trek all about?
yes they didn't quite feel as embellished as anomaly ones. felt more like the system missions you can pick up at stations (there's missions you can do from freighters??)
exterminating bugs!
diff franchise π
lies! seeking out new life and civilizations (and conquering them)
to go, where to man has gone before.
(and conquer it)
to go, BOLDLY, where no man has gone before.
(and... you get the picture)
I think we getting a story expansion boys π
I reckon the new 'cockpits' won't be called cockpits at all
Where you access the galaxy map now, wayy back in the day it was a terminal you could do co-op missions from. It was replaced by the anomaly missions when they added the Nexus
i reckon they will be called bridges
This vaguely rings a bell
HOLY SHIT.
THE ENTIRE GAME IS A STAR TREK REFRENCE!
Thunderbirdβs def star wars inspired, Ambassadorβs alien inspired, Titanβs very akin to submarine/aquatic vessel
the gek? a trading race? Ferengi!
korvax? science? come on you know the answer...
Vy'keen? warriors? klingon?
sentinals? borg?
atlas? q?
travalers? THE MAIN CAST!
The thunderbird nutrition thing even has a table that looks like the one they play that game at
"these are the VOYAGERS, of the starship enterprise"
COME ON
the game is also FULL of quotes form popular sci fi!
hm
Probably creeping out of spoiler territory here hehe.
New multicrew cockpits! bridges! There i brought it back.
@ebon spoke In your opinion, do ya think the multicrew cockpits were concept cockpits or potential future ones.
OK this is a bit of a major spoiler even for this channel so im gonna black it out || No, Apollo and the rest of the crew are in different simulations(ish) that converge with your own, technically there is no saving them but by not resetting you have 16 minutes AKA forever, until the universe shuts itself down meaning that you prolonged their eventual death along with your own ||
I reset
I couldnt bring myself to reset felt like the wrong choice morally even though there is no right choice morally
For me, I felt that the whole thing was questionable - scavenging souls building mind containment devices all for someone that was already dead
I hope the new bridges make it in before the end of the year, but it wouldn't be the worst if they didn't.
I guess thats true, the atlas really gives you a tough choice, honestly the only right decision would have been to not interface with it in the first place
I'm leaning more towards cut content than future plans... I don't have much more info than anyone else though
Even tho they're only white boxed, it still feels like a lot of effort to put into something that from a technical standpoint they could write off the feasibility of pretty quickly.
The correct decision was clearly to never play the game in the first place
Yeah, it all comes down to how we feel it should resolve- I like that
We don't know the specifics or why any given unreleased thing didn't make it into the update, it could be that they decided to change the direction of the corvettes, it could be those cockpits needed specific features (multicrew) that weren't done in time, any number of things
Iβm assuming cut content perhaps, but at least it shows that they have multicrew and shared ship control innmind
I'm leaning towards the latter
Right, to me it feels more like potential future content cause we already have their pre-concepts of corvettes
Get corvettes in working order first. No need to overload themselves with layers of bug fixes, for the same reason why i think they pushed back the initial expedition start time from the launch day
multicrew cockpits brings a whole plethora of bugs of its own to do with synchronisation.
These ones being highly detailed, not to mention each belonging to the existing ship aesthetics, itβd make sense for it being models that were created during the final touches of voyagers
Right now i think we all get instanced versions of pirates and sentinels for example? We can't hurt each other's pirates and sentinels
with how buggy the update was, I wouldn't be surprised if they had to push a few features down the roadmap just to get it out and playable on time
so corvette multicrew wouldn't work fundamentally as the game stands.
Correct, unless something changed within the last major version or two
Well, idk about sentinels
But pirates, yeah
True that, thereβs definitely missing mechanics. Sean even mentioned teleporters in the deep dive video
we have teleporters
the red button next to the hatch
No no
oh
Like actual utility
How do you mean?
He mentioned it in a context of utility stuff
βThe ships have real interiors; medbays, sleeping quarters, war rooms, radars, teleporters..β
Interestingly enough, there are no war room or radar utility rooms.
mhm. they can teleport you down to a planets surface if you're in its atmosphere?
I'm absolutly certin we will get a story expansion.
tho why you wouldn't jump out the back and skydive instea i do not know
And the medbays (iβm assumin the life pods) n sleeping quarters are nonfuctional
all the pieces are there.
You're right about the war room and medbays tho. i wonder tho with war room if he didn't just mean making one out of decorations :p
I guess he could mean that?
mhm that's how i read it, rather than as like a specialised teleporter room. Which true we don't have
the teleporters are the red button I think π
I think it was Sean slightly overselling teleporters hehe.
I'm telling you... think about it, this is a nerdout on star trek, the entire game is, we are getting some kind of coop story expansion.
or something along these lines.
@ebon spoke You ever find any more utility modules besides the bathroom one in your datamines?
hehe let them finish the Void Mother arc first! :p
once again, the proof is in the pudding π
not passangers... CREW
in the trailer, sean says at 1:00 "everyone with their own roles".
guys... this is it.
Okay Mathew, I'm not trying to be a bummer, but this is like going onto the Schedule 1 discord and making a big point about the game being inspired by Breaking Bad... Like I felt like it's kinda obvious that it's inspired by Star Trek (among other things), though with the Corvettes I personally got an Alien vibe
do we have this in the game yet?
I dont remember this interior
Its a corvette
dah
He means the specific module with that exact interior
Its the titan interior yush. the fisheye lens just makes it look bigger
ahhh thanks
Oh mb
Bathroom is the only one.
Gotcha
That's the... titan cockpit, right?
btw I swear the titan and thunderbird cockpit models are accidentally swapped around and no one at HG noticed.
Any idea on how it's supposed to work?
No I'm not asking to joke about it XD but genuinely curious, is it just a visual addition or a mechanic
More stuff like that would be nice. Is there anything in there for internal walls?
I love the way the habs look but it's nice that other modules widen them a bit, makes it more spacious
There's an unfinished 2x2 hab (for only one tileset, Titan I think)
Aww I thought we were going to have an infinite faecium supply
Quest 1 : Repair Ship
Quest 2 : Craft container for a soul
Quest 3 : Reset entire universe
That's neat, would be great for ship builds that are wider etc
want!
Those could well come along with the bridges.
A solar ship tileset would make be happy forever
I still think the better option would be something that removed a wall entirely, so we can have full control over the design of a room. but a 2x2 hab is the next best thing.
So, the way the habs are designed wouldn't allow for two habs to be placed side-by-side without some sort of wall or pillar between them. Right now the game will always place a doorway (unless you have a functional part on one of the walls) but there isn't any reason they couldn't have the blank wall as a buildable option
There is some reference to internal door parts, I can't find any models for them though
well, technically the side walls could be seamless, but the front and back ones have to be designed with doorways
This is the core part that all habs are build around/inside of. (obviously the 1x2s have a larger version of this)
This might be asking a bit much, but are you able to see the rigging for the mecha mouse's animations?
I just get the sneaking suspicion that there will be more bones to the rig than the mecha mouse uses.
I see that it has a jaw, ears, eyes...
This might be a reuse of the existing rodent rig though
oh is there? I thought maybe something from LNF because the jumping animations and other reactions feel new
Then again, nothing to say LNF won't use rigs from NMS' animals to be economic, so really doesn't say anything either way.
Do we know what's going tobe available for the next community challenge ?
I just realized there's an inconsistency now with how the player being in space outside of a ship is handled in normal gameplay vs. the 1 or 2 times during the main story that Atlas yoinks the player into space and they start to suffocate
No you haven't lost health during that for awhile since wp1 atleast if not sooner
Patched out
Oh really? I haven't done that mission chain in years. So you're just floating in space but there's no "scary" moment anymore?
Kind of changes the tension of that scene if you're just hanging out
Ok so I paid attention for the first time to that Atlas server room in the abandoned stations...
Atlas is a computer that was on a planet that would eventually be consumed by a black hole?
You'll figure out sooner or later that this is at the very root of everything wrong with the Atlas and, by extension, the universe in which No Man's Sky takes place.
Yeah, I figured Atlas was dying. I just couldn't figure why. Just have some spare time now so I'm trying to figure out how things fit together.
Best I can tell...
Atlantid is an AI created by the Korvax. But because the Korvax are simulated lifeforms, then Atlantid is an emergent AI from Atlas' own processes. A daughter of sorts.
So if Atlantid was separated from Atlas, but technically on a server still in the facility where Atlas itself is housed...
Then it's feasible she built a body... which may be possible because the race associated with Atlantid is the Autophage, and the autophage are all about creating their own shells...
She could very well be the entity with Atlas in its final hours putting its hand on the glass.
It would be a narrative parallel to its "father" with his hand on the glass when it was born.
@royal forge p sure that's an ||autophage|| pack, acquired likely through either an expidition or via their ||hidden camps|| somehow, you need to finish ||the purge|| mission to get access to them
So corvettes were the elevator parts we saw a long time ago I guess
Thanks
You're kinda close. We typically refer to the "Atlantid" by the name of "Void Mother" - she's the intelligence of Korvax Prime, the Korvax's destroyed homeworld.
From what I can gather, she's trying to figure a way to survive the death of the Atlas, and the cessation of the universe.
That might lend credibility to the theory she's the entity at the end of Atlas's simulation.
If she's managed to construct a body outside the sim.
But then I suppose she'd also need to find a way off the planet before they cross the event horizon.
I found an echo locater the SECOND I was about to start a drinking game where I take a shot every time I get an inverted mirror
What's good to bring on this expedition?
I went nekkid. There's really no need to bring stuff.
Cool - that's what I was thinking, but wanted to double check. Thanks.
Does anyone know how to put plants in the corvette?
i have placed the living wall in the corvette, but it wont allow me to plant, "cannot plant outdoors - invalid biome".
Hey there πis there a way to complete the current expedition in single player fully?
You don't have to use Multiplayer ever, in general.
There is one optional milestone this time around that requires you to fly in someone else's Corvette, but that can be skipped.
This time they unintentionally encouraged single player because of the queue time for space station parking
Ohh I meant for that mission in particular
In that case, no.
It is optional tho and is not required to finalize it and return to your mainsave/finish it for all Expedition-Rewards.
Yo chat! Will going to ||the center of the galaxy lock me into a choice/end the game? Iβm trying to complete the atlas path first to see if it makes any difference||
No, you can do that separate of any quest and it won't lock you into anything
If i am on the mission 16/16 how long do I have left of the story? (I just wanna complete it fast and be free)
I'm finding it quite challenging to complete the Hitchhiking mission. Anyone know a good way to complete it?

The main storyline The Artemis Path is composed of these missions:
- Awakenings
- Alone Amidst the Stars
- Ghosts in the Machine (requires progression in Expanding the Base, a secondary quest)
- A Leap in the Dark
- The First Traveller
- Patterns in Time
- 16 / 16
- The Purge - 16 warps in any direction. It does not require travelling to the core.
- New Beginnings - Like the Space Anomaly mission, this will forever remain in your Log tab (even after this quest's completion).
Do not reuse portals found via the storyline to prevent bugs.

π Did you know? The Atlas Path and The Purge mission can be completed in tandem.
What's the difference in letting Artemis die cuz on first playthrough i spared him but now idk
Nothing, except you won't see her afterwards and Nada will respect your decision
I just spent a half hour reading the patch notes and what's in the game files
Switch 1 is mentioned 0 times specifically
But switch 2 is mentioned
I'd be willing to pact og switch won't get voyageurs lol
Soooooo, I finished the Atlas Path. I... created a star? Right? Where is it?
considering the build limit for Switch 1 was set to 40, maybe they felt that it was too constrictive to be viable? who knows though, it could still show up. I think Sean needs to be more communicative about missing features in general though, it's not really fair to the player base to just keep people in the dark
Did I mess up by not finishing the Atlas Path before resetting the simulation?
okay, nevermind, I just had to go back to Polo
how do you unlock the science terminal
try #nms-questions (since not a spoiler)
Accident soz
I just had my first ||reset. Actually stunned. This is such a great game. Chose the tranquil galaxy.||
Same, made the same choice. ||I almost chose 'aggressive galaxy' but that felt like poking the bear||
So wait. I Just reset the atlast and went into a new system, do I really need to repair EVERYTHING? Or will a mission come by that repairs it?
Do I need to remake the whole atlas orb thing after resetting the universe? Saw someone else say they just spoke to nada but that didn't do much for me
Your choice
Nada respects both of your choices so it doesn't change much in the big picture
You could let her live a bit longer cause that's what I did, I thought I shouldn't make that choice for her
Ultimately it's a moral choice on players

Was this already on 6.0 or did it come in one of the patches?
I kinda like the concept of modules for each weapon type
(Also, amusing that the waste disposal unit uses faecium lol)
If they don't release an interior I'll be very disappointed
I mean... modelling an interior would raise questions I'm not sure HG wants to tackle lol.
its in current patch
soon they will but i cant speak for them
so i cant confirm nor deny
if anything its obvious they will give us a parts of 2x3 or more instead of keeping it 1x2
Parts that connect under angle would be nice. Wings ,rooms etc.

Do we players have administrator permission by Atlas for this simulation?
no
Echos was cool as heck frfr.
That's all been sitting there since 6.0
Oh, I see. Asked because I don't recall them introducing this kind of stuff on hotfixes. π
Could have happened before, not sure. I just don't remember.
You do still need mods to access them
and they're all obviously unfinished. We don't have any way of knowing if they were just cut for time and are coming at a later date or if they were abandoned because HG decided they weren't worth finishing for one reason or another.
Anybody know how to use this item?? Thereβs a couple like it with a grey background - but canβt seem to use it at all when building corvettes. Or at least itβs not available in the build menuβ¦
Also, doesnβt look like we can glitch-build things inside the interior of the Corvette? Or is there a different technique? Was trying to put small save points and potentially a vendor on board π
The Cargo Box doesn't even have a model AFAIK, even if it was in the build menu it still wouldn't be usable
I have some hopes for at least those other cockpit parts... or something based on that
Hi all so do we we know what's expected to come while expedition is running and after at all ?
Expedition reruns around end of nov.
WHEN SWITCH AHHHHHHH
It's upto Nintendo buddy
so, has HG ever been known to add stuff during patches, say the unfinished stuff that's been found in the files
Or would they just wait until the next update to add that stuff, assuming it's not cancelled?
It's happened before yeah
The endurance update had some parts added in patches over the following weeks
cope is kindled
Honestly we don't really know where the hold-up is. It's possible that this update keeps failing Nintendo's cert process. Given the length of time, I doubt it's something as simple as Nintendo being slow
nice hopefully we end up getting these
They didn't like that the game was so fun
Could also be the bugs honestly
Nintendo wants to keep it's platform rep for well created experiences. So they don't allow too buggy of an update to n come through. Would be a very Nintendo thing to do
Not the first time Nintendo did this, an example I can think of is Genshin Impact. It was announced for the Switch way back in 2020, it STILL hasn't dropped
If even a billion dollar company like Hoyoverse is stuck at this, a small indie like HG has no chance of appealing should something be failing any certification process for whatever reason
HOW DO YOU GET ACCESS TO THESE!??!?!
save editor blue prints
???
thats literally it
it's unreleased content found via datamining. we don't know if they'll ever be released
do we know which expedition their doing yet? ive been catching up on some of the ones i missed by replacing the seasondatacash.json file but if i can do one more legitimately/with other people then i'd rather wait a few months
what even is the internal landing bay
is it just the hangar mentioned in the last datamine, or is it something different
a bigger version of the elevator
my guess at least
you might be right, though, from its model (even though said model is probably a placeholder) it looks like it could be a docking ring for a starship to attach, or maybe another corvette
possibly
yeah, but as a counterpoint "internal landing bay" is a really strange name for a docking ring
im at the end mission and its talking about reseting, will i lose my progress?
you might want to get a second opinion just to be sure, but I think it just spits you out in another galaxy with all your shit broken
I'm not absolutely certain though
This is also my memory and what I was thinking, but I'm also not certain π
Which is why I didn't respond
yeah it just spat me to a different galaxy
i was worried, but i just decided to just do it
so is the new beginnings mission just the end of the main game?
Yes, it's a mission that will stay in your log now. Consider it completed.
But not quite the end of the game. You still have more stuff to discover π
Probably the ones from this year
rip so its probably stuff i have already
I spent a long time looking for even one mention of switch 1 it's pretty possible it failed cert π€·π½
There was some sort of actual landing bay at some point (it's been almost entirely removed from the files). The part pictured is just a door, like the boarding ramps but without a ramp and it attaches to the side. It probably has the wrong description.
Or that is the part ID for the landing bay and it has the wrong icon
I did atlas enternal and presented one discovery thing. got some nanites... how do I start the quest to get to purple stars?
Isn't that tied to needing a specific drive for yur ship? Its been years since I had to do that... like 1.0 long ago

I just finished that last night and it has to be one of my favourite stories in the game.
I don't really understand... do I need to find the crashed interceptor? or do I need to find the harmonic camp? how do I do either of those?
I'm at a dissonence planet
There's a few ways you can find a crashed interceptor if you want one?
I want purple planets
oh you are doing the questline? nuh you don't need an interceptor for that. which part in the story are you at? there is a part where you have to go to a harmonic camp
yea how do I find one?
Its been a while but i think there's a bit with an autophage head that eventually leads you to find your first one. If you follow your quest log you'll eventually be led to one π
It tries to hack your ship. i remember that part, then you have to go to the dissonant planet and confront it.
I don't have a quest
oh have you finished the artemis story and the atlas path?
oki if those are both done i think you just warp to a new system and you'll get a communication about your ship being hacked
if nothing happens then u might be missing something.
oh you're right. I think you need to have found one harmonic camp! my bad
best way is to fly to the dissonant planet and find the drilling machines
when u are near one (they won't bite until you do) you are looking for i think it's called an echo locator
it will tell you what you get once you break them. Most its an inverted mirror
but some will drop an echo locator instead.
(some peeps say its the ones with the little quadraped corrupted sentinels around them that hold the echo locators, but i don't know if thats true.)
so find big drilling thing, find echo locator, follow from there
mhm
aight
you pop the echo locator like any map
thanks!
and it will point you to a camp
I forgot that finding a harmonic camp was also a pre-requisite! This is why i think they should have some kind of quest page like SoT with checklists for starting each quest so you can see in black and white what you're missing.
kind of a round about way of letting people explore the game...
The harmonic camp one especially feels a bit arbitrary
mhm which would be fine if some of them are better signposted. These days the egg for the living ship is buried deep in the quicksilver store. without someone telling you its there and what it does, it could be months until someone comes across them!
found one... now what?
get up close
and when u do it will show u what you will get for popping it
the corrupted sentinels wont attack until u do
mirror thing
oki find another
or pop it then find another hehe. you will need the mirrors for interceptors anyway
do i need the interceptor to get to purple planets?
nuh
but going to the harmonic camp you can point yourself to one, so you can get one if u want
the corvvettes kinda made regular ships obsolote
first interaction with a harmonic camp won't do anything special. so its a chance to get a sentinel multi-tool and an interceptor same as any other.
They are good to scrap
their scrap sells for about 50 million.
maybe another time ;P
hehe
3 in a row show inverted mirrro
But yush i know the feeling. i use my corvette almost exclusively too now
Yes they are not super common but keep looking
oh I found a big building
what does it look like?
It definitely didn't. It's still faster to get on a regular starship than it is to get on a Corvette, especially if you have a bigger build.
The harmonic camps have a giant sphere to them.
keep looking for the mining machines.
Corvette is basically the jack-of-all-trades when it comes to NMS player-owned assets. Not as convenient as a starship, not as useful as a fully-fledged base, not as spacious in terms of cargo as a freighter, but pretty good at serving as all three.
no they are just not a common drop
makes me scratch my head really
This is what i mean about it being a bit obtuse and arbitrary to require it. considering the story will then take you to another one anyway
So its like the game expects you to find one, before it will introduce one.
you do get a jetpack with wings on it your first time. so that's neat.
I wish this could be modded... like I bet modders would be all over this
its just bad luck. You will find one eventually π they are not rare, just uncommon.
7th Q_Q
I would keep looking. the other thing you can do is fight the quads, but i don't know how often they drop echo locators tbh. I have only had it happen a few times.
ok that's the 8th with inverted mirror...
9th
bro...this is a bit much
π
Q_Q
does that mean I need to find another camp?
nuh?
i think now you've interacted with it you will get the story start next time u warp
As for the multitool, they all come broken like that the sentinel ones
it's still worth picking them up until you get an atlantid one
Yeah, once you receive the winged jetpack from the terminal, that's basically confirmation you finished the mini-quest and if you've also beated the main story, it'll only be a matter of time until the Autophage contact you while you're warping in space.
do you guys remember the artimis quest line
Do I get locked out of something if i choose "Uncharted" for the Atlantid system?
you shouldn't
The parameters are just set for the game to look for initial purple system
Once you complete the quest, you will have access to all of them
@sour fossil thanks!
Any ideas for future updates or speculations?
I'm personally betting we will get worlds part 3 with multi biome planets after LNF realesing but like when talking about next updates I'm thinking more multiplayer/freighter update
Or might be something darker since the upcoming update will be around Halloween probably
They don't always theme an update for Halloween
oh my gosh lucky!! I am still looking for one of these
If there's another content update this year, I'm guessing it would be something small that didn't make it into either of the years big updates
maybe some POIs for spacewalking and the ability to get out of smaller ships?
I agree. I think it'd just be adding stuff they ran out of time for on the corvettes, if anything
There won't be another large content update
yeah , but those new pieces are really cool, it will increase the building possibilities , and now every base item that gets added can be used in corvettes withs mods wich is also really coll
idk if im going crazy or i heard some kind of voice in the gas giant ambience
i got freaked out
secret lore RNG!??!1!
I'd love for them to squeeze one in. Iirc there's just enough time before the reruns but we'll see I guess
wrong channel
Try to get it again and record it
will do tomorrow
sword and bow update
solar sword solar bow haha
How would I go about getting a location for a sentinel security tower (can't remember what it's called - the place where you shut them down) on the current expedition?
the last couple sentinels keep losing track of me all the time and I can't progress it that way
you can get them from salvageable scrap! they don't come in all of them, but it shouldn't take too long with some luck.
you can get a chart that leads to them from salvaged glass, dropped by sentinels sometimes. I don't remember if you can just buy the chart from the space station, but maybe
there wasn't a purchase option, and wasn't getting any luck trying with random buys for nanites
that's the first place I checked
eventually got one off the glass, took a while.
and then finished the expedition once that was done, finally
@tulip rover
We have here folks. Someone who wants the truth of Artemis spoiled for them.
So here we go. You follow Artemis signal. Only to discover they have slipped behind the fabric of reality when entering a portal. They signal you follow is but a shred of their memory.
Artemis that nada knows is long dead and gone. You capture their essence in a mind arc. You can either kill the last remaining memory of their signal. Or you can take it to nada. And nada has a mini galaxy for them to explore. You can at one point either tell Artemis the truth or play dumb and let them explore their galaxy in peace.
Complete the Artemis quest line. Upgrade your starship. Then do the atlas quest line. Do not tell Artemis the truth.
Also when you get the chance you can tell null hes a bad person for being a war criminal.
what-
Null. Is a traveller. Or an anomaly I forget. Heβs doing exactly what we are doing. But instead is exploring and finding an atlas interface to reset the systemβ¦.. he killed his entire galaxy. Millions upon billions of lives null murdeted into order to obtain immortality in his galaxy.
Null also had an Artemis.
Also the gek were once vykeen
Instead of loving for war. The first spawn of gek had the blood of the korvax (Nanites) poured into their spawning pools. So then they loved for money instead of war
Thatβs the basic stuff spoiled. The rest you can have fun with on your own. The sixth race you can discover on your own
what-
You heard me
Maybe a bit more coherent explanation
There was a Gek empire in the past, the First Spawn. It was a very aggressive and expansionist empire with a strong survival-of-the-fittest and zero tolerance for any weakness type of mentality
They were melting Korvax down for minerals in their bodies.
At some point, a group of Korvax sacrificed themselves by spilling their nanite-rich blood into spawning pools, changing the new generation of Gek on physiological level into what would later become the trade-obsessed little gremlins we know and love today
The Korvax basically just flipped a switch in the Gek DNA from blood-thirsty to money-hungry.
I'm constantly confused by the majority of this community having such hatred towards the current money-hungry Gek because of the previous blood-thirsty Geks.
I mean, the lore states that few Geks even care about their history and even less identify with it. And the Gek in the Artemis path tells you that they don't like to think about their past, like they're ashamed of it.
Geks literally don't like the first spawn and the community goes first spawn on their asses... just a weird reaction lol.
Humans humaning
The fact that the game doesn't make much of a distinction between race and faction sure doesn't help
For what the game tells us, you'd think every single Gek was evil when the First Spawn was around
A lot of Korvax fanboys... But the lore states that the Convergence stamps out individuality and identity that's why our base scientist is on the run. Korvax did not deserve to be annihilated like that but they aren't saints either
Can think of several real world examples where the outside world thought the same about a regime... The game simply adapts from what we've already seen in the real world so I don't blame them
I didn't think to send any of these back with me from the expedition, but do 'orbital uplinks' work in normal or just within the expedition?
Is datamining leaks allowed here?
Yes!
We hunger for datamines!
We yearn for the (data) mines.
Apple keynote starting, maybe iOS port gets announced? (probably not)
does that attach to the side? i know some people have wanted more curved sides
Its pretty much just a shorter version of the Vesper Diffuser
same size as the Fuel Pod Cover
Nice more new parts coming
I live to hear what's new coming into the game gives me something to look forward to
More spoilers please
5th experimental dropped some good notes
Crazy switch ain't even get 6.0 yet
Watched it, nothing. π
Do we know why this is? Sorry I know this is from a while ago but I was looking through for any hits towards shuttle customization coming in the future.
Which one you think is the right one to do.
undecided
angry autophage noises upload. Every one deserves a second chance
Lowkey even for what the gek did idc and i love them, even when they try to attack me they are polite! They are cute too, no reason to hate geks
Always the korvax clanker fanboys
Yeah i found it but i can unlock it in character editing, I literally have unlocked purple systems and all
Do i need to reach a high standing?
Did you. Or did you not. Complete the Artemis quest line and go through the whole process?
It says new beginnings and enjoy the galaxy
So enjoy the galaxy. Youβll know it when you get the quest.
Or maybe you wonβt. Itβs random.
Oh ok lol
Do you happen to own a sentinel ship yet?
Yeah but i dont think ive used it after i beat the game
I use my trusted solar
Use the sentinel.
Ok
one of my favorite moments in the main quest is when you go through a portal and then it starts counting down from 16
Yeah that was cinema.. i made sure to record it

Anyone have the new thermal grill decor that the experimental releases?
I also like the one where you're just put into space by yourself for a few seconds
I actually might do
we can properly spacewalk now but before this update it was cool cause you're not really supposed to just be in space like that
its still cool ofc
Yep i have 2
Lemme ssee
One sec
ah nvm
the experimental update released new decor, I just wanted to see what it looks like
Oh okay
Im on the mission to 16/16
How many more quests are in the artemis questline
after this one
Just went through that for the first time today, legit thought the 16 minutes were counting down and the game was gonna implode or something
obviously it does implode when the countdown finishes the game is uninstalled and removed from your steam account
Is it true if you do refuse the Atlas path that traveling to other galaxies is more difficult?
difficult isn't the right word, just a bit more time consuming
I wish we could install that singularity drive from the one expedition to ships in other saves π
So im still about to finish the game, i already completed the Atlas path and im on my 3rd warp, ive read that you can choose to restart the galaxy or something and it will take you somewhere else, that means that my planet base and everything else will get deleted? Can i access all of my stuff still? Is it like a New Game + type of thing? Im so confused
U wont loose stuff
||You always can come back trough teleport on space station. You wont lose anything||
Let the new galaxy be born then, thanks
Just a quick note, you don't need to use spoiler tags as this is the spoiler channel (tags are not necessary per channel rules)
I found the big wobbly ball that invited me to join the atlas path
I accepted
it feels like I made a mistake, though it's probably the story progression
You made one of multiple non-exclusive right choices.
ive done the atlas wipe and artemis quest, what to do now?
what fate is morally better for artemis? the simulation or the death?
So why Atlas is some kind of "Crimson Horror" stuff
because it is modelled after HAL from 2001 a space oddesy
I've always ended Artemis' suffering. It felt wrong to keep somebody in a simulation, especially such a small one.
I felt betrayed and saddened when I learned that the whole game was a simulation, and I did not wish that fate on another. Its especially torturous to keep a fellow traveller in a place thats finite, with only so much to see.
I think you spoilered me the game's end, even if I suspected that
You are in the spoiler channel
i know
Its not the end
We're still minutes away from that
So am I understanding something correctly? Does this Atlantium bring out the machine spirit in stuff? Am I becoming a techpriest?
for the machine is immortal
so what is atlas? is it like an embodiment of the simulations code?
like it stores everything that the world needs to be existing and exists in every iteration
and why exactly does it have an interface to speak with the simulations population and is easily findable
A supercomputer
Atlas is the simulation. Its the computer that runs the simulation, and every simulation before and after.
but how does that make sense, like i suppose that there's a real world outside of the NMS simulation and wouldn't the computer be outside of the simulation?
Yes, Atlas was created by a human in the real world and was used to generate simulations of different universes. It was eventually abandoned, and it soon took an avatar of it's own inside the simulation after it grew lonely.
i'd theorize that the devs of the simulation had created some type of an overseer in the simulation and gave the atlas the interface in order for the character to oversee him and do something if anything goes wrong, as in the atlas is kinda just a bug reporting tool for the overseer to use
fair point, makes sense
As far as im familiar, its the Sentinels who are the bug reporting tools. They are designed to purge or contain anomalies
i see them as more of a blunt emergency countermeasure that's not designed to fix anything but to completely rip out the thing that's bugged
but i'm pretty unfamiliar with the lore so i'm just spitballing here
Its a pretty big part of the lore that Atlas cannot fix itself and that leads to it panicking. The simulation is breaking down, different iterations of traveller are meeting when they shouldn't, and the walls of "reality" are collapsing. (See: Anomalous planets and Reality Glitches)
but what are the travelers though? were they supposed to be just like a gek or something but because of the Atlas bugging they became a "traveler" that travels across the multiverse, survives every iteration and just spawns in at different times with amnesia?
From what I remember, Travellers are special creations made in the image of Atlas' creator. Created to enjoy the simulation, to walk its many planets and explore.
oh that's really cool, we are RP-ing as Sean i guess
thanks for dipping me into the lore a lil
no, not sean, a self insert of sean
different things
