weeepiiii!
I wonder why Endurance update is NMS v3.94 because maybe they are waiting to release 4.0 when the switch version is released
hiveminds can take many forms, i'd argue
gamers
im stuck
||i cant choose an option for artemis' fate||
it just keeps presenting me the same option
any fixes?
(please @ me if so! )
this is a bug, please report it to hg
!hg
well anyways, run that command in the #bot-spam channel for more
we've had multiple reports of it today
I just realized that the nature of the atlas could be used to justify duplication exploits
pain
I guess haha
Maybe cause something bigger is waiting for us in 4.0 👀
Damn my settlement was attacked by sentinels
first time I had a minotaur in the attack
that's since the Sentinels update I guess?
👀
When will the abyss return?
Perhaps it is simply lurking and waiting for the right time
And by right time i refer to when sean wants to expand the story
Umm....
A friend of mine who's sometimes browsing 4chan said there's been a couple of posts these past few days talking about 4.0 update....
I seriously can't really believe these rumors/leaks since there really hasn't been any indications of such thing being worked on for that update afaik
Just remember that every time 4chan has had posts about upcoming updates/features, every single one of them has been correct.
Apart from where every single one was wrong.
They go like this: Procgen POIs Combat Guilds Dungeons Bases Gas Giants More Space Stuff
Oh look they did one of those, I was right
The one post which talked about combat overhaul, sentinel strongholds and NPC towns was kinda correct. Each of those things came in one form or another
well if it keeps the userbase thinking about those things and requesting them then i'm ok with the 4chan nonsense
AAAAA
a
i just remember the one Macforaday brought up a couple years back that brought up volcanoes and some other stuff, then we got volcanoes and some other stuff
usually the "leaks" seem to be based on some popular feature the community has been wishing for and could've very easily been just lucky guesses
but it's quite odd how a few of those were mostly correct with some things
anyone got a spare dream areal, after 2 days worth of frigate missions my luck has been non
what is the star seed for ?
adds to hp
HOW USEFUL ! thx
i thought he had a cigar in his mouth lol
Oh! Derelict stations? 😅
Not just that! But mmm can't remember, I have to check
What is everyone thinking of the new update so far?
for me, the best update since I started playing ^^
and ok, I'm not a long-time veteran, but I spent time in the game ^^
Can you have multiple living frigates
hey, how do you get dream aerial to spawn?!
Should I let Artemis die or upload him?
have you played ||Outer Wilds? 👀||
I let them go
good game 👀
Nice 👀
You don't miss on any gear or options, it's really a you choice - do what you think is the right option
if you look into it later, do NOT do too much research, it's a story/exploration heavy sorta gam
spoilers will ruin certain things for you :V
but yeah, it's message sorta deal does pretty handily
answer that question 👀
I see 👀
@torn token keep this sort of discussion to #other-games
I love it
This update brought life to some of the more stagnant features in the game
Really really good stuff
ok, i have been sending my Leviathan xD so far i got upgrade module from expedition
I now know why Cronus is the foodie of the Anomaly. It has to do with the Greek deity they're named after, a deity who ||ate his own children||.
I wonder what this means for the NMS Cronus. I'm scared for their backstory now lol.
Have a nice day 🙃
Hmmm what if Ariadne disappeared because Cronus ate them? 🤔 Lol
Lmao
Is Cronus the Abyss??????
his belly is
wonder what these grass items are for - i don't see them in the expedition rewards in the nexus, and they aren't twitch rewards.

WHATTARE YA WAITING FOR SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT?
You’ve butchered creature pellets, I’ve never seen them made so horribly.
Man Cronus is the Gordon Ramsay of NMS
Probably future community research quicksilver items
hmmm yeah good point
hope so - love the idea of planting grass down in say, our freighter bases
Although there’s so many and very similar, maybe it’s just one item with different variants? Like how we change wood alloy and stone variants now
so has there been anything datamined in the new release other than the moving freighters?
moving freighters sounds interesting
this things so slow 💀 (new freighter tech spoiler)
yeah
they are extremely slow to the point that they aren't useful haha
or maybe i'm missing something in the right usage
Im on the mission a leap in the dark
It says warning mission out of range
Hold RS to restart current mission and use nearby structures
Ive held RS but nothings happening
I’m having an issue with the first traveler mission
||Decide artemis’ fate at nada’s terminal|| but the terminal rejects me
welp i cant send pictures of the problem i guess..
this sounds like a bug that other people have described too, please consider reporting it to hg
!hg
Even better thing happened just now, lost my S class ship with mega upgrades
Hahahahahaha I’m losing my mind
You can submit bug reports, suggestions or feedback to Hello Games here: https://hellogames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
tbh idk if it matters but Im making a teleporter on the planet you meet atlas on just incase
Its so cool that nms got its own alphabet. And pepole manage to decode it with reserach and sean hints from social media
Alphabet? You mean the glyphs?
The symbols you can find on posters for example
Oh. It's pretty strange how the numbers and the word "CARGO" in derelict freighters are in our language and other things are in ET language.
NMS Expedition Alphabet - All the characters that we have uncovered so far in No Man's Sky!!
I hope that isn't just that every letter fron A-Z has it's own symbol but for example :symbol: = "da", :symbol: = "bee" :symbol: = ze etc.
Interesting
What if Rick SanchGek built this universe just for powering his ship?
Just finished the storyline, I think
I do not understand the ending
can someone explain? or point me to a resource that does
Universe is a simulation ran by a dying entity known as Atlas. The universe will end in 16 minutes in Atlas time, which could potentially be billions of years in regular time.
Why does the player become uncomfortable around portals,
Is it true that clock manipulation to do the frigate expeditions will screw my chances of getting the dream aerial? Because I've done approx 80ish expeditions and had no luck lol
probably not billions of years in regular time though since the world that the Atlas computers exist on is being sucked up by a black hole
they did but not with the latest patches
Their usage is basically free resources every once in a while, so I doubt that there's much to be missed
The Atlas is everything. The Atlas is all
What will he do if I want him to kill me?
You know how a glitch sometimes causes you to die instantly?
Ye?
But like does it like delete my save or effect my character? Like is it just a normal death?
Probably, yes
Also, world of glass sounds like a wireframe world, which fits in with the motif and everything
oops, you meant the mission, not a hypothetical @umbral vale
In that case, I believe it is, the game doesn't implement anything save-deleting, if that helps at all, excepting permadeath saves
Here's a hint: no dialogue option will result in your immediate death.
Reject the Crimson Liar and embrace freedom
first anomally lol
nice
i was like "what the"
suspicious amount of eyeballs for a "crying heart"
kinda agree
@mighty rampart ahhh I'm still having trouble getting the aerial, bloody nightmare lol
it's most likely the computer system that runs the simulation, and sub-simulations of those simulations. the whole purpose (as told in the Waking Titan ARG) was to test whether reality is a simulation by seeing if their simulations could predict the future
first time jumping through the last portal and now all my stuff is destroyed 😫
Yeah it’s better to switch to a throwaway multi tool and ship so your main stuff doesn’t get damaged. I think the stuff in the tech area of your suit is also safe.
noting that for later cuz i have some upgrades that will be a pain to repair
hello
@eternal radish remember when i talked about a log that mention a First Spawn gek?
i have the location of one of them
coords
"He is the tallest gek I have ever seen, but the mystery is soon solved. He asks me about the empire, wants to know if the First Spawn still mentions his name. In life, he had had a hundred korvax slaves."
"He doesn't remember how he got to this place. His face is covered in nanites. He's alone"
Glyphs and galaxy?
uhhh what on earth space is this thing??? ||hairy penguin running around the space anomaly -> https://i.imgur.com/4fSNxie.jpg||
That's one of the protogeks, fairly common species with lots of variety
dang, I've been away too long - visited lots of places / planets / stations in this run (just a couple of days) but I never saw anything like that - thanks for the info
today/tomorrow new expedition?
Does the dupe glitch still work? (the one at the anomaly)
i wonder if humans exist
not that I'm aware of 😛
They are most likely related to Gek just like humans are related to apes, as far as I know.
yup, if protogek is their actual in-game name (I tried aiming at them and interacting with the, with no success) then the name would point at that kind of relation as well
yo not sure if void egg things are considered spoilers so im putting this here
where do i find the korvax plaque on the planet it leads me to
when its the stirring void egg
oh wait #nms-questions
ok hol on
Sorry i missed that, gonna post it later
analysis visor is almost always the solution
i used it
didn't find it
searched within quite a bit of the landing site
also didn't find it
Sometimes it was out of the 1500u and said it wasn't close enough to estimate or whatever, still used it like normal and it worked. Otherwise I don't know, does the visor just not show anything in any direction?
nope
no lights went on looking in any direction
nothing to indicate it's in a certain direction
is it your active mission?
yes
it should've been
it said something about no active mission on the left tho
so im not sure
So with all the organic ships and frigates, as well as the capital ship rework just added, I wonder if that means organic freighters are in the future?
Make sure it is selected and use the visor again, otherwise I have no idea lmao
how do i make sure it's set to be my active mission?
Go into missions or whatever and select it?
I would dislike that unless they let us have 2+ freighters tbh
ok so try using visor, check you're at the right place, otherwise idk
Before they add 2+ freighters, I'd like it if more than 1 freighter could be in the same system during multiplayer
they already can
its just one despawns
yours is always the only one currently active in the system on your client
Yooo, did that come with Endurance? I remember always getting the error message each time I tried to spawn mine
that's actually awesome
I lowkey wish that Normandy was a freighter instead of a frigate, but I get why
Let's reel this back in to spoilers.
Did you receive another egg in a different stage? Happened to me, I had to delete all the other eggs and go hundreds of systems over to my friends home system to restart the quest from distance to get it to not break. Always told me to go to a planet that didn't exist in some random system
nope i have 1 egg
I would still try moving VERY far away (use the anomaly terminus maybe) and restarting the quest, cant really think of anything else to try :/
as in like
5000 ly away?
or
idk I went to my friends system which was comically far away
Tp then check missions, it should say hold to restart or something and you can do that
Well, I completed the artemis path in hilbert. Time to see if green goes to eissentam as usual.
It said halcyon, so most likely.
yep
i guess i accidentally datamined that grass
is that grass currently in-game?
have you been able to place any? how big an area does it cover? @fallow beacon
Not yet
ahh...Like currently it's not generated on planets or it's just not in the quicksilver shop yet?
Not available to build, is in game
oh okay
Sorry
np
Yw
I've still got new beginnings or whatever it's called lol
whatever the indefinite one is
What are the different systems after The Purge?
Different systems?
Ah
Red is harsh, green is lush, blue is empty, and light blue is normal.
Euclid is a normal galaxy in case you're wondering.
Gotcha, thank you!
Do we warp randomly when we jump galaxies? Do we get to pick? Or do we go in order?
Going to the galactic core just takes you to the next in the list afaik.
Completing the Artemis path lets you pick from a few different options.
Ok thanks, sorry I didn't ask in the help channel but I saw you guys talking about it.
I'm on the first traveller mission, have to locate the crashed freighter, it's not showing me where to go in the galaxy map
Yeah!
It covers a small area
Like, player sized
Yes and no
I mean, if you come to a base where i built them, you'll see them
To me they're a game changer
Yes you can scale it up
Hey guys, what new things have people datamined since the Endurance Update? Anything interesting or new? I was really hoping for new Freighter parts for the outside of the ship or Exotic Freighters. Anything you guys can point me torwards?
Just grass
Like
Really, grass
Wait can you just deck the floors with it?
I'd love to have an entire room that feels like its on a planet
Oh man I'm gonna make an enitre floor thats just a biome
I think that i know what are they going to do with them
Add them in the merchant and separate it in 5 phases as they've done before
Which means, Based on my math that they'll appear in the mercury merchant once players unlock the last poster
Do we already know all the rewards for this coming expedition? That's what you're referring to right? I'll be honest, I was hoping we'd get a Living Freighter by the end of this Expedition
you can see them in the anomaly
No living freighter
Ah, I thought they'd might be hiding some interesting things for release or when the Community got to a certain tier.
Nothing was datamined so it would be quite the secret haha
Not sure how base building would look on a living freighter
It'd be interesting that's for sure.
Bro 4.0 though
I hope it lets us make true the world I want to bare
But that isn’t to be spoken of here, I want to discuss the Vy’Keen supremacy
Vy’Keen > Everything else
Korvax are psuedo hive minds, Geks are a fallen slaver empire now turned khajjiit
Vy’keen have retained their culture
Thus they are the supreme species
Prove me wrong and I will declare war on you
Watch. 4.0 will introduce the first spawn. The vykeen will crumble under the glory of a TRUE warrior race..
I mean, i really do wonder what 4.0 would even entail? Obviously there's going to be new mechanics, options, things to find etc but I'm more interested in the story of NMS. The Expeditions seem to be slowly moving the story along with the updates once in awhile implying more to it. I wonder if there will be some form of "time travel"
Don't expect anything massive for 4.0
I'm sure there'll be something new for sure, but it'll mainly be coinciding with the Switch launch it seems like
Inconceivably hyped for grass
Moya from Farscape would be pretty cool (and/or her son, Talyn)
rats, I really wanted to use it for ground cover. so much for that idea
If the Vy'keen are such units, how did a bunch of tiny lizards kick their ass so thoroughly? Theirs and the Korvax's 👀
i can only ever think of some Doom levels
are you sure about that
i second this, farscape was a great show 👀
I'm refering to the community mission
Because the Vy’keen were busy fighting the sentinels into extinction while the rest of the galaxy was enslaving the Korvax
by the rest of the Galaxy, you mean the Gek :V
And some of the Korvax
They enslaved eachother
All jokes aside, I just love Vy’keen lore
leaving this here: milestones and rewards for the expedition, now expected to drop tomorrow https://app.nmsassistant.com/helloGames/seasonExpedition/seas-8
oh LOL, that end date is GOOD, I'm going on vacation next week and not sure I'll have stable internet and all
oh, btw... does NMS even work with Steam in offline mode?
you know... no internet....
answer is YES. good.
In order to see another players freighter you need to be in a group with them.
This might turn out to be quite a difficult mission for those on console who don't have anyone to play with.
It's pretty hard to convince a random player to accept group with "Yes" "Over here" and "I need resources"
we'll have to plan this out a bit
I'll be happy to help if anyone needs assistance with that mission.
I don't do multiplayer for stability reasons so that's already a thing, consider ps4 players... oof
this will be the first expedition where multiplayer is literally rewuired for a milestone, ugh
hmmm
I wonder if this is stuff for expedition?
Or perhaps there was going to be deeper mechanics to freighters where they could actually get damaged in fleet battles or something?
This thing too. Must be expedition stuff then
ooooo
Hello, my new love 😍😍😍
oo fancy
This expedition seems fun
f a n c y
I might slap a cape on my character in my mainsave sometime.
But I also love my exotic backpack so much.

Honestly? These look like parts to maybe rebuilding a Derelict Freighter? Sorta like how we can rebuild broken ships on planets surfaces?
This reward seems interesting. What does Freighter 1 imply as the reward? We can add second Freighter to our fleet?
it's a living freighter!
Phase 5>Third* to Last Reward>Click on "More..."
I do love Expeditions but after last Expedition and getting a Living Frigate this feels sub-par unless they've somehow still have something secret goingg on.
There is literally a task “make contact” so yes
MOAR
I'm a bigger fan of the whalstalker cloak, that might be the all time keeper. 🙂
I love all capes but I'm not a huge fan of the Outlaw one since it's so ripped. Says me who occasionally wears ripped jeans lol 🤣
the outlaw one is ok, did not equip.
Apparently new living frigates refer to city planets or race homeworlds now
very interesting stuff
Doesn't polestar drop today or tomorrow?
I like to think that it's because since the gek are so small an army to them is a really big number looks like a Doom game when they come xD
Definitely will be less stressful than the last one
same. messed with my sleep, no good
I much prefer to have no anxiety based expeditions. NMS does something a lot of other games don't do, make me relax for a few hours and not have any PTSD or Anxiety attacks. I can just mellow out.
I personally loved Leviathan. But I understand that
I know a lot of people loved it. I was in the dread and stress camp. I hope that if hg decides to do something like that in the future, they let players select the mode. this couldn't be done for that expedition because of the looping mechanic, but going forward, it would, I expect, not be too hard to let people choose survival/perma/normal
would split the ppl in expeditions tho
that's ok, plenty of people already play single player I bet
and lots of folks go through later in the 6 weeks too
if the fear is there won't be enough comm balls around, I'm pretty sure there will be 😛
wow only 4 typos in one sentence, ugh
Could be a new feature for survival mode
Most likely just stuff for the upcoming expedition
we do know, see back posts in the spoilers channel for more
or... go to the qs vendor
they are already posted there.
yup
really wanted that singularity engine but it's amilestone reward, not a phase reward, booo
Question, what do i do with "New Beginnings" is it just a permanent quest you can't do anything with?
correct
you will have 6 quests that remain, eventually. 3 primary, 3 secondary
the atlast path primary may disappear for a bit but it will return
i have 1 primary..?
Atlas Path dissapeared after creating a new galaxy and space anomaly dissapeared after i went through a black hole
the atlas path will show up again, sooner or later (and it's no use trying to do it again)
oh is it bugged?
the spae anmaly, no idea why it's gone, I presume it will return
atlas path really didn't end up in anything for me
other than the two technology items
what mode are you in?
default? i don't remember choosing
Personally think that would be sort of a dream 4.0 update for me...a way to visit the world of the past. They've spent all these years building up this lore on what happened back then, it would be interesting to finally see it in game. Maybe through some type of alternate portal that shifts the world to an alternate reality version.
normal, creative, survival, ...?
survival
you should have those regular missions then
and the atlas path would have letyou see black holes, that's the main point
Or maybe through a sort of "hidden" system (like the red/green systems almost) that was hidden from sentinels by the first spawn. It could also be a way to introduce cities or other sorts of civilization, worlds that got glithced or cauight in time
I mean i don't have it anymore, so i'm not really sure what to say
My vote is the exotic planets. I have my story reasons for why
don't worry, it will be back to annoy you
don't you dare turn all my exotic worlds into first spawn planets, they are too pretty for that!
think of it more as a temporary shift or a boundary failure collapse if you will
I really really hope we get civilization someday. I like the idea of there being a difference in systems beyond resources/faction
temporary, and only if you leave some of them alone 😛
My story reasoning behind it being those planets is during A Leap in the Dark, you end up briefly on an exotic planet.
At the end of the mission, you end up on a different planet type, except that its actually the same planet just the biome changed.
There's also mention in dialogue that 20 years have passed in that time
Also, I've had this long working hypothesis that the world is slowly shifting planets, creatures, ships, etc from mechanical constructs into living things.
The mission A Leap in the Dark would definitely support that hypothesis, as would living ships, living frigates, and even the introduction of robotic fauna
well time is all screwed up in the nms dimensions, that's for sure
"hey I have this contract signed by your child, all good"... I mean.
what can you do with that 😄
Yeah, so my thought on this is that the Atlas is not actually dying, the world is just becoming less "synthetic"
And the simulation is "dying" as things become more organic
Again, super loose fan theory/hypothesis
sure. I gotta say I'm pretty bought into Atlas last gasps/spasms but whatever, it's all just goofing off anyhow 🙂
one things for sure, 4.0 will definitely get a variety update for bugs 😄
I really think 4.0 is not going t be a huge content update from our point of view, it will be switch and maybe also mac/ipad
What if the splitting people from Normal to High Stakes just gave you either a Normal increase to the Community Projects or if you do the High Stakes one you get a x2 to helping the Community? This way you both get the same rewarsd but for those who like the difficulty or time it speeds up the overall progress for everyone?
need help with quest - "The First Traveller", I can't decide Artemis' fate at Nada's provate terminal
Plausible but this is too hopeful for my taste. I like the existential dread 🤣
Boundary failure cause a wormhole through time and space making the past fuse with the present
Its a known bug, but I don't think its been addressed yet in the experimental builds yet.
What will their child be?
Also, if any mod or admin sees this, this is NOT seriously NSFW. It's about ||a glitch in the Nexus|| Don't worry.
It's not Spoilers though
well, the organic ship is
What he posted wasn't NSFW but ok
#no-mans-sky seems like the more appropriate channel for this type of NMS discussion
but that's a fair point if it's not considered spoil content
screenshots of it aren't
there are plenty posted in #nms-photomode-gallery
roger that
huh is this another living ship item cuz got it via derelict lol
i think its just a trading product but its weird it has no value listed
some don't display price in the UI when you acquire it, but if you hover over it in inventory it should say how much it is woeth
@neon wadi @leaden frigate ye was trade item
what happens when ||you complete the atlas sequence in the purge||
ominous
will I need the solar ray again after I use it the first time?
no
Also recommend not keeping the Animus Beam either.
That thing has a weird bug associated with it now where it nerfs your multitools harvest yield
No
Just delete it
experimental build helped ^^
I am still not over how the Atlas Story ends
What bothered you about it? And did you choose to reset?
I went through the 11 seeds to create, and created a new star
and... that's it
Like, the Atlas does not come, I never heard of Sentinels again afterwards
it was underwhelming
Now I want to see red galaxies
Ah I see. I was personally a big fan of the story.
I loved it too
but the end is underwhelming
NMS: option, create a new star
-> there, a new star is created, I gain the knowledge of everything
ME: AND NOW WHAT ??? what my knowledge will be useful for ???
I think that it would've been great that the story sends you to a red galaxy at some point
on harsh conditions and that you must prepare for them
I am still not over how the Artemis story ends 😭
that too !
like, we let her be...? no news no everything ?
i also choosed the path of compassion and stuff
and yet, i never hear about -null-, or that other traveller again
Apollo.
yes, Apollo
The triangle head.
I am fascinated by the storyline, but I was already familiar with theories about our universe being a simulation so the NMS story didn't come as a huge shock. On the contrary, it made me feel less bad about the [possibility] of us existing in a simulation.
Same
I swear the story writer of NMS is woke, and not in a bad way...
New lore keeps being added with big updates.
Like with the Sentinel and Outlaw updates.
Well, via Atlas interfaces.
I may be missing them, i'll give it a shot
Its to give him the glyphs
Is it me or the story is juste depressing?
Well life in a simulation ain't that bright
PLEASE tell me they'll give us these Freighter Techs that increase Expedition Speed for the normal games PLEASE
Anyone know if there's anything to do with the 'Star Seed' that's crafted into your inventory?
Or 'Remembrance' for that matter. Both have been sitting in my inventory forever.
Put them both together. They allow you to access lore nodes you'll find on some space stations and other odd places
They also give extra health
Hey, when's a good time story-wise to start playing with a friend? We both just got to the Anomaly place and so far a lot of the missions had us going all over the place with no real opportunity to explore (it was always stuff like go there, fix this part of your ship, etc)
Here's the new freighter gravity drive!
damn they look pretty cool
Woot
got it too, looks really nice
You can technically play together from the beginning but you'll be sent to different places as the story progresses, player objectives competing with eachother and whatnot., you may be in the same star system, but it will tag some other building than your buddy
They already exist, you just have to run Derelicts for em
I just learned that planets rings seem to be asteroid fields, might be useful of you need stellar metals or whatever
When I got the option to shut everything down when talking to atlas I didn't chose it. I instead talked to it and it ended up taking me somewhere else. I was floating in space 😲. So because I didn't chose to shut it down I couldn't choose what galaxy I want to be in or?
Is that even a part of the same mission?
interesting...this seems to confirm that the Atlas can shift any planet to an exotic biome at will.
I mean that makes sense, given that it is running the simulation, it ought to be able to rewrite any bits of it when it likes
we're lucky it doesn't turn us all into mcgek I guess
Don't give it any ideas lol
Welp, there goes our hub 🙃
Atlas: Hold my beer
I mean, I’m pretty sure those are upgrades that you get from Derelict Freighters…
Probably anomaly missions and such
Is the main mission worth finishing? I'm worried I'm going to lose a ton of stuff if I ||purge the system and reset everything. ||
You won’t lose anything
I know some people say there isn't a story or that it's not moving but this Expedition from my time playing since I've returned shows that they still have a story to tell and that it is moving, if slowly. The implications overall from this Expedition are melancholy and semi-depressing.
New desktop background
Did anyone else notice that earliest Expedition Badge art had a image of a freighter with a nose/front that we don't have? Looked really nice too. It's completely a curved frontal nose.
Babe 😍
Beautiful!
Should I complete the atlas path before I finish the purge, or does it not matter?
Additionally, will my base be destroyed if I reset the simulation?
Either order works, but most people suggest doing Atlas Path during The Purge, just to save time (Purge requires 16 warps, Atlas requires at least 10).
Thanks for the response - so is resetting the simulation functionally identical to warping to a new galaxy, with the caveat that you get to choose a type of galaxy?
Aye.
Freighter Gravity trail does look awesome
Die
Huh? When does it leave those trails behind? Mine is just the fancy spinny animation
As far as I'm aware, no
Well... I'm the big freighters you get those jets. On the smaller ones is just spinny
So these long ones are for long freighters only?
@mental socket yes
Would this be spoilers ? Cus I want to post this in #nms-photomode-gallery
Nope
Hello. I dunno if this is the right place to ask, but figured the answer might be a spoiler. So here I am!
I'm just about to Rendezvous 1 on the new expedition and still haven't been able to summon the Anomaly. When do I get access to it?
it's not a spoiler, and it's in the pins (hey, check them out!) in the #nms-expedition channel, and you get access after the first warp.
Didn't even think to look there. Dang it! Thank you! But I've warped and still can't access it. I'll go check the pins to see if I missed a step somewhere.
Question about the dream aerial, the first time you get one you use it and it calls a whale, I crafted another one but there is no such prompt on this one?
Don’t know where to ask it but here lol
The way I use them after the first is by getting an Anomaly Detector from Asteroids (has a low drop chance). Then with the Dream Aerial and the Anomaly Detector in the same inventory you warp in the system until, instead of it showing an Anomaly it Shows a Levithan/Whale Icon on the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Yeah, you sometimes get them back to back and then other times you could be mining for a good ten minutes.
Just make sure you have space in your ships inventory.
Also, be prepare to spend at most 200k Million Units for a C-Rank Whale
Any of them from my experience has a chance of dropping one.
Ah per usual
yep
There's 4 galaxies I can choose from. What's the best one?
So what's with the glAss glaSs glaSs glaSs
Imagine the lucky bastard whose first free living frigate is an S-class.
When Endurance first came out I swear I saw a post on the Sub-Reddit where someone actually did. Makes me wonder if you can manipulate it in some way akin to how you can manipulate your first encounter with a freighter
Does the starbirth quest always put the host on a different planet than the one you're on?
Save editor? Idk
Oh no, not a save editor. When you do your fifth jump and have played for I think four hours you get your first freighter fight encounter. All you have to do is on your fourth jump dock somewhere and save, then you can go to whatever system you want and find the perfect freighter to get for free or save it for when you do your 20th jump and spend your free freighter pass on a Captial.
I wonder if you can do that some how with your first use of the Aerial
It's three hours for space battles.
Ah ok
I have a question for the lore buffs of NMS. With how things are shaping up do you think, in some capacity we'll be able to escape or change the results of what are happening? I ask this because both the Leviathan Expedition and the Endurance Update suggested that the Living Frigates are even outside of Atlas and even our existence. Also, when doing Frigate Missions with a living frigate they can go to multiple iterations and especially past iterations in some capacity so I wonder if a form of time travel is possible to help save us
we already know that it's far past 16 minutes before the death of the sun where Atlas is, I wonder if we'll be able to do something.
so, this would take quite a bit of explanation
it's basically a big "maybe" though
essentially, when things die or otherwise are deleted in the simulation, they don't just disappear, they get sent to the world of glass
(this is also the native residence of the Sentinels, iirc)
so any entity that is deleted basically gets sent to multiverse computer jail
including Korvax prime. over, and over, and over, for each iteration.
eventually, stuff started spilling out of the world of glass, partially due to the sentinels themselves becoming corrupted by the deleted Korvax Prime iterations, now known as the Void Mother.
most sources of nanites are, to my knowledge, related in some way to the Void/world of glass
and (also to my knowledge) both living ships and living frigates at least partially hail from the void as well
anyway, the Void Mother is pretty pissed off about getting deleted all the time, so she hatched a plan to corrupt the simulation to the point that she could escape both the world of glass and the Atlas proper, in an attempt to escape the doom that the Atlas' demise would bring.
Absolutely fascinating! Is this... World of Glass inside the, for explanation sakes, on the same servers housing that Atlas is in or is it entirely different location, far away from the system Atlas inhabits and the countdown?
Interesting. I wonder if they'll still address the countdown and the impending doom or if we'll get a chance of fixing or moving Atlas or at least the servers and all the living entities inside it somewhere else in some capacity. We really don't know how advance the "Real World" is, where Atlas is at, so for all intended purposes there could be some feasible way through radio singles, or some broadcast or stream of information; hell even us a ship to escape the doom
I had to restart my Perma-Death but I think when using the Aerial even the Leviathan you meets actually addresses the impending doom stating even after that, they'd live on
So it had me thinking what HG is leading us to, we have loops, iterations, time travel of some capacity (Way Back Machine) to maybe slow or stop it. I'll be honest, if NMS ends with all of us just dying I think it'd be a real lackluster ending.
we don't exactly know the true nature of the Atlas, nor exactly why it is dying
we know it's a computer, yes, but we don't know how it operates
So I haven't played No Man's Sky for years but when I did play it, the story was that the solar system the Atlas Servers (just calling it this for our convo) are on are going to basically die once the Star the planet Atlas is on implodes, which at the beginning release of No Man's Sky was 16 Minutes until detonation.
we do know that it has so much processing power that it possesses precognitive abilities
being able to simulate its own universe fast enough that it can see its own future
Is the ARG from a few years back still canon?
Because in it, it showed a being walking into the rooms where Atlas is housed and then the story ended
maybe? there's some debate on that front
Yeah, I've heard that before.
||Should I wipe the Atlas or leave it be?||
Its for the mission a leap in the dark
I think
I feel bad for feeding the creature in the korvax place rather than ethenizing it.
Like I actually wanna cry
It just spat up the food and couldn't eat.
||I just left it, you get a mission that just does nothing and I think if you complete atlas path or whatever it's called you can trigger a reset anyways||
same :(
very interesting endong lol
Bassicaly Atlas's Trashcan desktop file
yeah
except nothing ever actually gets deleted or overwritten because it doesn't need to. the atlas' hard drive is infinite
Which makes me think, If Atlas is so advanced outside of the simulation the machine itself. Im guessing in their Advanced world wouldnt their be AI controlled things, espically if the Residents who made the Simulation escaped their planet wouldnt they make things like Robots with ai? Also if the Atlas went Sentient wouldnt it be able to hack into the mainframe use the robots and make like legs or some shit for the Simulation ( atlas Machine) so it could move and maybe escape the world its currently stuck on?
Technically it could happen but it really depends if the black hole that is heading towards Atlas has already ruined parts of the world and Internet
because the people had recently escaped from their world 20 years or before
and guessing by their technology theyd have nuclear and damns everywhere so power there could last and extra 40 years
can't hack if there's no network to hack over
or, to be more specific, no network you're connected to
there's also some debate on whether it's an actual black hole consuming the atlas' world, or if that's just some sort of metaphor or something
(also, the atlas was abandoned because it became obsolete. newer computers based on it were made, but were much more compact)
I wonder if the creators made a new simulation machine? after they left
I swear it's stated somewhere that the Sun in the system Atlas is housed is going supernova. They may have very well of changed that by now though.
there's an entry stating that the planet the atlas is on is being consumed by a black hole, but to my knowledge that's contradicted elsewhere
Do we have any interesting data mining yet in Endurance? 😛
Also, the fact that the Atlas still has power after such a long time. It must be either powered by an extremely powerful and limitless powersource or it's able to generate power by itself. This is something which makes me think the Atlas must have been built by an advanced alien civilisation.
Im pretty sure in a log somewhere its stated that The Traveller anomaly ( the one you start with) ( also look at how 'human' travellers look) but It states somewhere that the orignal creators allowed the Atlas to copy the creators and their looks so im 90% sure the creators of atlas are human
Someone showed me a thing a while back that I believe was discontinued cannon on the creators of the atlas
Some big company type thing
Oh yeah that
Waking Titan?
Yeah
Titan, Idk how tf to find media or news on it
All that comes up is attack on titan stuff LOL
Me.
That's because AOT is more popular.
yeh
Idk if it's still canon?
probs not anymore
Hg did quite a lot for it to not be cannon
Strange how the Waking Titan logo looks like the Resident Evil logo tho 👀
Totally not coincidence...
Did your ||pickle|| comment just get deleted?
I think it was mainly just a fun event and mayyybe a predecessor to the current story and canon. Like a placeholder.
I did it, I fear the admins
Yesterday Red went Thanos at the end 👀
Around when Endurance first dropped someone in here found a large amount of Freighter only grasses? Just grass, variations of it.
Not freighter only
Decorations tab, planetside
Not even sure if they will be available on freighters, since the decorations aren't all there
All the flora is though, so probably
I could use some help if someone has a sec
I'm at the final interface
So I didn't want to put this in help
is there any effective difference to the scream/rejoice/submit answers you give when atlas begins to fondle you in the glyph mission?
At the final interface is there any order to the galaxy choices? Like from left to right?
Reset Simulation
If the player chooses to reset the simulation, they will be given a choice of what kind of galaxy will be created next. The four options are Lush galaxy (green), Harsh galaxy (red), Empty galaxy (blue) and Normal galaxy (teal). They will also gain the title "The Last".
Once the galaxy type has been chosen, the simulation reset will occur, teleporting the player and their current starship to a random planet in the new galaxy and damaging all Technology in the player's Multi-tool and those in the primary (but not technology) inventories of the player's Exosuit and starship. The player will need to board their starship after arrival in the new galaxy in order to conclude the mission.
Players can use the Space Anomaly's Interstellar Terminus to travel to previously visited galaxies if they have a base there; alternately, they may join another player in a multiplayer session. Space stations in another galaxy will be accessible for a while until they drop off from the bottom of the list.
Since you said you were on mobile
My problem is that I'm colorblind, so I can't tell what type is which sphere
Oh
I am thank you for the information
If you interact with the orbs once you get descriptions of which galaxy you will be put in
I was afraid to touch them. I will get the chance to look at them all before I choose?
Red - Harsh Galaxy - you travel to Calypso (#3)
Green - Lush Galaxy - Eissentam (#10)
Blue - Empty Galaxy - Budullangr (#7)
White - Normal Galaxy - Hilbert (#2)
Yes, interact once to see a text description, then there's a button to Reset the simulation
Is there a "best"? I would like something different from Euclid
The only difference between galaxies is different % chance of finding specific biomes in yellow star systems
If you wanna see more lush planets, go for Lush option
Ok thank you
Is it purely coincidental that some Vy'Keen sound like Korvax or are these Vy'Synths?
What should I do?
||1. Seek the final interface
2. Complete the Atlas path
3. Explore the galaxy||
Please answer. I am at the options now. I'm not wanting to end my current save.
Any of the above. Your save game will not end, no matter what you do.
Unless you're playing Permadeath
But that's kind of the risk you take when you sign up for that
So is each traveller's appearance unique? Or do they come from their own ancient race?
That concept has always confused me a bit
Like at the Anamoly we have a chameleon, shark, owl-like and other various alien travelers, but are they all unique or are there more beings, whether presently or in the past, of similar appearance out there?
They're exactly what it says on the tin. Anomalies, things that aren't exactly supposed to be.
Er
Whatever
Point stands
Anamolys are different than travelers I thought. Like us as players are anamoly. The appearance modifier separates them as two different races
Gonna be honest, chief, I'm not too sure about the specifics
Should I
||2. Reset simulation
3. Refuse the Atlas||
Please respond as soon as able. Currently at options.
It's truly up to you. Neither will have a significant impact on your gameplay, but resetting will allow you to travel to a new galaxy, choosing from the options that will be presented.
And I can still go back to Uclid? I have a bunch of bases there with teleporters
also which galaxy would be the best?
Yes you can teleport back to your old base still. And it depends what you mean by best. one of them has a higher chance of finding lush planets
Which one has the highest paradise planets?
And is the economy good?
There's different orbs
I chose green. Most lush
That's a good one. And afaik economy is the same for all
If I follow the Atlas Path, the final step allows me to choose which type of galaxy I want to go to next, right?
Nope, that's Artemis path. The Atlas path lets you see black holes, nothing whatsoever to do with galaxies.
The part where it takes a Heart of the Sun correct?
yes
That's the part I mean, sorry it just says "The Atlas Path" in my log
but i'm doing the final step rn and i'm at that room
That allows you to see black holes, nothing to do with galaxies.
How do I go back to that choice for Artemis questline?
is it even possible to go back on my decision? I wasn't ready to leave Euclid yet so I decided to stay, but I still wanted to choose a "Lush" galaxy as my next one..
I have "New Beginnings"
It says "The Atlas waits for me, should I change my mind"
I don't think you can. Try doing a core warp and if that doesn't let you pick then just use the featured bases on the anomaly to go to the monorail one which is in eissentam, which is the lush galaxy that you'd go to from euclid during the artemis choice.
Oh.. okay, thanks for the help. I didn't know those community featured bases were cross-galaxy
Polar Express 2.0?
Big double sided triange
if i simply want to go to next galaxy what to do....like from euclid to next galaxy....i dont want to jump galaxies...
Use the core
yeah but how to know if its next galaxy
so i just need to go to core....and not use the portal?
i still havent done purge yet...even after 6 months
Oh you want to make the choice, is that what you mean?
Gotcha
Choose normal
Uhmmm blue? I forget it's been so long
Cheers it took me 3 years haha
do i end atremises suffering?
Up to you
ah nah bro i chose wrong, letting him live is depressing
it just keeps getting more sad
legit the only thing in this game that will make u feel
i chose that on my previous save but chose the other option this time not only to see what happened but also because ive realized that nothingness is more peaceful than what is essentially hell
So i gotta ask whats the center of the galaxy like?
I don't think you killed Atlas. That would have detrimental consequences
Do we know how the first spawn looked in appearance?
Were they tall, did they have a voluptuous figure?
I didn't realize how important witchcraft and demon worship was to First Spawn culture. I'd like to think that First Spawn relics were magical witchcraft artifacts
The only thing I've found states that they were bigger in stature than even the mightiest vy'keen and they had a vicious maw for devouring the corpses of their enemies
So the voluptuous figure is a maybe
finally going to the core of the galaxy, this is weird
im doing the purge quest but idk if ill loose all my stuff including my glyphs or just
not idk
You won't lose anything
oh sweet jesus, good
that took way too long qq
also i feel bad for null
they wanted to live yet we have to start the purge
How did you find out?
Thanks. I now have some inspiration for some very gorey art haha.
So they did look like Ves' concept art after all?
In which text can we find that the first spawn worshiped demons?
Sadly the game is intentionally mysterious about stuff so the source is procedurally generated. I read it in text from a planetary archive. It was told from the perspective of the Vykeen so it could honestly be dishonest slander
Ok
Yeah they go on about the "savage first spawn who magically enhanced their bodies through demon worship and witchcraft" I'm paraphrasing obviously
Oh that's very cool and totally plausible 😁
Looking for that bit about the demon worship I stumbled upon something disturbing....
Those born of the Gek who OPPOSED the Dominion were hurled from the spawning pools of the FIRST SPAWN. Their cherished spawning syrup was replaced with FLAME. Their kind are now merely beasts of the field.
Protogek are NOT the First Spawn's ancestor, but the "weak" of the First Spawn brood that was kicked from the spawning pools...
The First Spawn was ruthless.
Makes Vy'Keen look like angels haha
I wonder if some First Spawn era Gek who opposed the First Spawn managed to flee elsewhere and have children of their own.
This also explains why many Proto-Gek are so big.
I wonder how Korvax blood made Gek shrink since Korvax aren't small. They're like 1.70-1.80 m
It was less about mixing blood and more about the nanites in korvax blood rewriting the first spawn genetics. I need to find the screenshot I have of the plaque explaining it
Lol mental note not to bring my most decked out ship when i travel to another galaxy
I have over 32 broken technologies in my starship alone lol
Thinking about First Spawn I started to wonder if First Spawn also had the ability to communicate through pheromones. Imagine how terrifying that would be. Facing off against large reptilian humanoids who can strike fear and despair through their scent alone.
soul chambers not filling.. im in a loop getting glyps
anything im missing
its for the void egg mission
i see.. so the fix was remove one soul chamber.. i had two for some reason
Before killing you
And then ritually eating your corpse while dancing in a river of your blood
I'm kind curious about the First Spawn. I wish they were featured in the game and at the same time I'm happy they're not.
It made Gek partially Korvax tho...
Imagine melee combat against a First Spawn Gek 💀
I don't want to say that you're wrong because I still have so much lore research to be confident in anything I say, but my understanding is that when those hundreds of korvax sacrificed themselves they put their nanite infested blood into their spawning pools and the nanites rewrote the genetics of the first spawn brood. What was born from this affected pool was the modern gek. The nanites were only in the spawn pools
I'm at work right now but I'll find the in game text supporting that later tonight
I'm on the first traveller mission where I have to find the wreck of nadas crashed freighter, but it keeps telling me warning mission out of range
But the crashed site is on a nearby planet, and if I go there nothing happens
Go to the mission. You can press a button to "refresh" the mission.
I've done that like twice
Try warping to another place?
I'll try that thanks
You probably need to use your visor to scan for the wreck after you land on the planet unless you already tried that
Done that aswell
Added an additional set of stairs to freighter base parts.
more stairs???
can someone print screen?
From the experimental
looks like interior freighter stairs with windows
nabbed this from the general chat just now
I found a log on a derelict freighter that implies a price towards using the knowledge stones.
I wonder what we got ourselves into, by using those things.
I was hoping for the Atlas to be repairable. Although to balance it out it'd have to be the hardest mission of all the game.
I have a question, I finished the story missions and I still run into atlas stations. Do the stations still have a purpose outside of the campaign?
Nice
If you haven't completed The Atlas Path, this is your chance to do so. Otherwise, ignore em.
Thanks
I don't see how the use of knowledge stones could be problematic...
it'd be rather impossible to repair something that isn't even on your plane of existence
What do I do after the main quest and reinstantiated the galaxy? Is there any chance to commune with Null, Artemis, or Apollo?
Mostly no but if you saved Artemis, they will be on the Space Anomaly
in the backroom where the giant teleporter is.
You can see them but interacting with them always fails.
To answer the "what do I do after" question, there's a secondary storyline called Dreams Of The Deep that should already be showing in your mission log. It focuses underwater and adds to the lore of the weirdness going on in NMS.
You also unlock a submarine.
There's Derelict Freighters to run through that are basically procedural dungeons, you can collect Emergency Broadcast Receiver from the tree face on the Space Anomaly for free once per week to find them or pay for Emergency Broadcast Receiver from the Scrap Dealer on Space Stations.
I only see The Atlas Path, The Space Anomoly, and New Beginnings for the available primary missions. Are any of these missions prerequisites to Dreams of The Deep?
Nvm Dreams OTD is a secondary mission
It's worth doing just for the submarine tbh. It's kinda short so won't take too long to finish.
It also unlocks all the underwater building parts iirc
Yep!
I feel like they need to continue the Submarine/Water Questline, felt that could have some incredible deep sea horrors if we ever got Deep Ocean Worlds or something
Makes me hope/wish that if and when NMS ends, at least the story,|| it won't be as sad. Most stories in NMS are heart wrenching ||
Spoiler tags aren't necessary in this channel
The lore of the Abyss/Alantid is really interesting and I'd really like for them to expand on it
Well, we're not sure yet, with all the updates to NMS it's been implied that we're around six minutes before the Supernova goes off and destroys the system Atlas is housed in. Things we do know that aren't for sure is if something may happen to save Atlas or portions of his system, you learn this from the Void/Glass Realm that exists due to us knowing nothing actually "dies" in Atlas's universe and that Atlas has premonitions/paracasual like abilities. To top it all off the Leviathan Expedition, along with the Endurance Update and acquiring your first, free Living Frigate suggests that they will still survive even after Atlas is gone, how that can be no one knows but it's there as a possibility to explore. On top of all of this the Atlas was created in the image of humans and the other alien races they met in real life, if this is the case we don't know how long its been since Atlas has been created OR what sort of technology outside of Atlas is still present and what can be done. It could be as simple as us making a SOS beacon and having a intelligent life of some sort fly by close enough to teleport Atlas or his information abord a new location or something as difficult as take pieces before everything ends. And if the ARG is to be considered "canon" which a lot of the fandom don't consider it, a being opens up a door the Atlas is housed in right before things go south and the story ends, implying something good may have happened.
Sorry for the wall of text.
I dont know how to do that on Discord, whenever I try and hit enter it just enters it into chat lo
Im a boomer
lmfao
Also note that the lore is intentionally mysterious and incomplete so a lot of things are left to speculation. Many concepts in this universe are hard to have a concrete "canon" because there is so much interpretation involved
Basically they're slowly adding things to the story of NMS, my assumption is that Hello Games didn't think they'd be in the position they're in today and that they were gonna end NMS as quickly as possible. The story of Atlas and Artemis is from NMS 2016 but everytihng after is new information and new story. Every expedition and every update adds a little bit more to the overall story. So in the end things may change, I'm not saying they'll be roses and daisys and sprinkles all over but I think it may be a bit better than what the story was alluding to back in 2016.
Exactly this too.
Yeah same
I can break my messages up like this.
Very easy and convenient
There are actually a large sum of things they'll probably be adding to the game. For instance Glass/the Glass World is the world Artemis is housed along with the Void. All data that is "deleted" isn't fully deleted. It's where we get our Living Ships and Frigates from along with how we now have a "good" faction of Sentinels if you play the Sentinel Updates questline attached to making a Settlement.
I thought the Artemis storyline was added later on after release. Like around Atlas Rises update maybe
Well with how there's implications of shards and "instances" or instance space I could see it in a capacity Xuluzin.
It was but by then I still don't think they knew it was going to beocome this big and this popular six years later.
I'm almost as interested in the story of Sean Murray, Hello Games, and the creation and comeback of this game as much as the actual game it's self
Yeah that would have been 2018 I think
I'm trying to find info on the wiki but I'm horrible at searching for things.
I dont think the wikipedia makes updates on certain expeditions sadly.
Well there's the implications of the Void and "Glass" as in a realm of deleted data or instanced data; going by your dead stars idea. I was trying to find wiki articles discussing what they did to deleted information in No Man's Sky story.
I just cant seemto find it
Yeah my understanding is that "the world of glass" is an archive of sorts for everything in the Atlas simulation
Btw I hate null
I had a dream with null in it that was rather unpleasant. Not that I cared for them before that
That's exactly it. Before everything happened Atlas had different universes, multiverses, showing how advance Atlas had become, but to save space and to also predict the future to save itself from inpending doom it had to archive everything. But as he shuts down systems data corruptes and leaves holes in the system for the Void, those creepy crawlers, and other things like lIving Ships and Living Frigates to be a thing.
Well the Living Frigates honestly gives you a decent one-off of the jest of it but basically the Travellerr you play as in the Leviathan Expedition is that you've been chasing this creature for a number of iterations to try and kill it but finally you give in and let it consume you/merge with you. The Leviathan, all Leviathans are the same like how all Travellers are iterations of the types of scientist who created Atlas basically? So it can and knows tons of history and stories, locations but doesn't know if they'll still be in the "now"
Pretty fucking wild stuff
Hold shift and press enter to paragraph on pc
The connection to Artemis and Apollo feels like what close internet friendships feel like.
Can you tell me about that dream? I'm interested.
I hope we'll meet Artemis again. And properly this time ❤️
Oh my god, thank you for this.
Well like we discussed earlier, I diffidently think Artemis or a version of them will exist in some capacity.
Do you want the short version or the long version?
Long
There is a location that I frequently end up while dreaming. Its basically a post apocalyptic shanty town sort of place kinda like megaton. I end up going up floor after floor of strange dilapidated stairways and rooms. In one of these rooms I stumbled upon null.
They were just standing there silently unmoving. When I approached them it felt like they were staring even though they have no facial features.
They didn't say a word just stared intensely until I felt a strange energy and suddenly I was alone inside an Atlas Interface. I wander toward the part you speak to but I notice there were already three humanoid figures speaking to it. I can't understand what is being said but I feel nervous. They all look like default nms players. Human-like space suit creatures.
After they finish talking to the Atlas one of them draws their multitool and points it at me, they knew I was there all along.
The figure pulls the trigger and suddenly I'm back with null. They nod at me like "Do you understand?" and then I don't remember anything after that.
When I woke up I was inspired to write the rules for a pvp focused game feature lol
Dayum. This dream could be a fan-fiction 😯
I honestly probably had the dream because this past week I've been writing the layout for a nms fan fic and deep diving nms lore (which is frustratingly difficult)
I can't wait to read it. Is #no-mans-art a suitable channel for fan fictions?
Basically the lore behind the pvp game mode (i won't go into game mechanic side of it) is that the Atlas noticed that certain travellers are intentionally pulling at the threads of the simulation that have come loose, even working together to do so. The atlas then begins recruiting travellers devout to the Atlas to stop the others from futher ruining the simulation
I hope I actually finish it then 😁
I have a bad habit of starting projects and not seeing them through
I can relate 🥲
This whole talk about what First Spawn Gek were like made me think of creating 3D art of a First Spawn Gek. A bust and a full body sculpt. I imagine them now as big, terrifying feral, feathery monsters. Majestic yet horrific.
Still surprises me they went from such monsters to small adorable beak creatures.
I think they did that intentionally
Like how a maltese dog is a descendant of a wolf.
Only nanite manipulation made Gek from wolf to cute maltese doggo within one generation.
I know my experience with the Gek was: Wow these things are so cute! I love them! Wait I can PLAY AS ONE! 🥰
A little further into the game: Oh god they're MONSTERS 😳
A little while later: wait they are better now because of more terrible things!
You cannot blame the Korvax 🤷♀️
In the end if the Korvax wouldn't have had genetically manipulated/domesticated the Gek, Travellers wouldn't have had a chance because we would have been killed the moment we spawned into a world lol.
Something being necessary doesn't mean it's not terrible. And the Korvax had to pay a huge toll themselves to achieve it. I don't blame them at all.
Respect to the Korvax who sacrificed themselves to save the universe ❤️
If it wasn't for them the NMS universe would have been completely taken over by the First Spawn. Or at least the important areas.
what happens when you reset? Don't want to do it if it restarts my progress
you don't lose any progress
should i wipe system?
the first spawn can try and match my OP weapons
||New Galaxy Discovered: Calypso||
ALL MY STUFF BROKE?!
I... don't find that funn...
*funny..
they do
all travelers are different versions of one entity
just started the purge
chose final interface
what am i doing now
theres a marker for a black hole and one for a red mission
idl where to go
Have the purge selected and warp
You don't need to go anyplace in particular, watch the screen when you enter a system
ok
Just need to warp until it proceeds to the next step
sp just warp anywhere
im taking 17 warp cells w me
IT AINT DOING ANYTHING
sirry caps
hit it while being attacked by pirates
wait nvm
@icy citrus can i go to the black hole even if im doing the purge
it has me interested
Sure
You can go wherever you like, and finish that questline whenever
i went through it
Hey guys I’m nearing the end of the story and I’d like some guidance
I've forgotten most of it but, ask the question maybe someone will know
It says these options :
Seek the final path
Complete atlas path
Explore the galaxy
And I just am not quite sure what each one means since it’s my first play through
click on each one in the log and it should give you more information there. Also when you click on one it will bring up more information in the lower right of the screen for the current mission
You sure ?
yeah go into the log and click on one of them
Im in my ship and it’s a communication thing about the atlas dying etc
It's been 2 years since I've done things like that.
are you talking about choosing one of the 4 options
from what I remember a lot of the things you choose didn't really affect anything
I guess I’m figuring it out
Thanks though and yeah I thought so but just want the most content
Like teh more lore intense story ending
If you want more lore install the rememberence. When you go into some of the facilities on the planets you can use the V2 pass and go into the back rooms. There will be a rememberence terminal where you can interact with it.
Ok thanks !
Also remember NMS wiki is a wealth of information. There's a search option on the top right. I'll keep up to 20 of the pages open when I'm crafting a lot
I like the "Assistant for No Man's Sky" app on the play store also. Very easy to navigate. Especially useful for searching for info on specific items
If it's the same assistant I tried before I didn't care for it. I'd rather use the nms wiki pages. I can keep as many open as I want to and have immediate access to any of them without having to switch back and forth
I'm constantly using the nms wiki pages because a lot of the time I'm having to refine a little of this or a little of that using different resources because I happen to be short of what I need
Should I give the planet glyphs to Apollon ?
I'm not sure I want to answer that question. That was probably the hardest time I've ever had in NMS. I'd say do what you feel is right
Ok then should reveal to Artemis that he is dead ? (I putted him in a simulation)
If you've already decided I'd tell the truth
I allowed him to die because I didn't think he'd want to live like that.
Well i made a promise to Apollo long before that. Couldn't betray him.
You get an I understand that you felt you did what you thought was necessary or something like that when you allow him to die
Yeah but i couldn't kill Artemis like that
The way I looked at it Artemis was an explorer. It was very uncomfortable and probably scary to be in the situation they was in. Being in the simulation I felt would keep them in that situation. I didn't kill them I allowed them to die.
Yeah you're right. But i made my choice. (And no, i won't give Apollo the glyphs)
That's the thing you need to do what you feel is the best for you. Not let anyone tell you what you should feel or what you should do
I figure quite a few people think I'm weird because I won't kill the creatures that aren't trying to kill me or kill the other creatures or become a pirate. I'm not saying they're wrong I'm just saying it's things I don't do.
So,in the exp we are korvax escaping from Korvax Prime?
They know. During the mission "patterns in time" a gek will explain what happened to them.
The "Testament of the Korvax" actually fails to mention it and implies that the Atlas changed the Gek and showed them "their rightful place"
The unspeaking, unmoving Atlas Interface inflicted an insignificance upon the Gek emissaries that showed them their role within the expanse of infinity. It forced recognition of their true place in a limitless universe. The Gek saw their folly, their heads bowed in shame for the miscalculations they had wrought. The Cult of the Atlas took hold as the First Spawn of the Gek crumbled. The Diminishment was at its apex. Endless expansion turned to dust. Eons of aggression receded. The Gek saw new solutions and the Korvax became free.
Am I missing something? I’ve got the fragile heart and I’m warping like crazy but no contact.
Sorry meant for help
You have to let the fragile heart mature, this takes time. You should see a timer in the bottom right corner showing how long.
All the living ship parts you have to gather have to use real time to mature.
Why not? I honestly don't know what's the reason to abandon Apollo, except that they were kind of an asshole at the beginning but they became more kind later on.
Wait can I do the atlas path in my expedition save?
I just randomly found an atlas interface and went in to talk to it, and all I get is “we are alone in the universe, I am alone with the orb”
Or something like that
Can I even do it?
Funnily enough the interface spawned in an outlaw system
Yo travellers, how many new slots in the freighter cargo after the update?
Same as max inventory.
Anyone know why Nada doesn't trigger any dialogue between Artemis missions? It auto complete when I speak to him.
I've never seen this tile set in a Derelict Freighter before. Huge rooms with giant experimentations on live subjects https://imgur.com/a/OGfvX5b
Hmm... I'm redoing the Artemis Path storyline, and I'm not entirely sure I fully understand some of the more recurring themes in the game
Notably, the one term that keeps eluding me is the concept of "boundaries" and them repeatedly and rapidly "failing"
Something to do with Traveller iterations "staying where they belong"?
Separate instances of the Atlas's universal simulation have been gradually melding together and overlapping. In the story, this is how you, Artemis, and the other Travelers were able to meet, and how the players are able to meet each other.
In simple terms, time and space are starting to fall apart due to the Atlas starting to die.
hrm. to reset the simulation or no
up to you
yeah. wondering how dull the green galaxy is
The image is very unclear 😐
So the 'boundaries' that are 'failing' are between different instances? Different iterations? Can it even run multiple ones at the same time? If not, the boundaries failing may be even more dire than I thought
I think it means the veil between universes.
is it better to end Artemis or let them live?
Entirely up to you
hey, what the fuck is up with the Overseer? Just finished the farmer quest
i think the whole story was left up to interpretation at end
20 warps and still not at core. how many will it take?
If I were you I would find a leyline portal and look up planet coordinates that are as close to the core that you can get. That's what I did to leave Euclid at least
Just warping there will literally take days if not months. Blackholes are too random to be able to take you directly to the core
yeah I think I misread the faq on it. thought you could warp all the way there but it seems it talks about just the final jump to the centre.
so... time to find a portal. :)
kinda more boring this way.
what I saw that was cool is its the different updates being canon, as the Atlas dies the universe is changing and breaking apart and stuff
launch was the atlas starting its death and the addition of multiplayer and the universe resets was the atlas breaking down the walls between every iteration, because it was supposed to be one traveler per iteration and then the atlas started to fall apart
so ive done this atlas quest now, this part specifically 3 times.....is it just an endless quest? i already have the star seed. and its giving me that again everytime...
Yes, the last step can be repeated endlessly
:/...anticlimactic. lol thx
20 warps is baby steps towards the core without the help of a taxi or portal
do it in my freighter. 100-150 warps ought to do it :)
Determination will see you through 🙂
one way to see the galaxy :)
even with maxed hyperdrive range, 20 warps would only get you about 30kly, and you'll probably have to travel at least 600kly
I have an alternate plan now and it is realistic. :)
soooo who let artemis die and who didnt xD
I didn't
I uploaded them
i let artemis die.. whats the difference of keeping them alive?
I thought there might be hope in the future
if there is hope let me know bc if so ill feel bad Dx
If they're alive they will contact you and ask to meet up and you have a choice between telling Artemis the truth or to lie.
I believe I've done both, on two different saves
I did my first play through and regretted it. I had the "who the heck would want to live a simulated life!?" attitude and then as I got further into the game I was like "Ooooohhhh the point is that even though its a simulated existence, its still very real in some sense." and then felt guilty for not giving Artemis this opportunity
Laughing through the pain I see
It glitched for me and I didn’t even get to make that decision lol
The Artemis part gets me every time 😭
I have played the story multiple times and each time I have said to myself "this time I will let Artemis die" and each time I could not bring myself to do it
so it is a simulation within a simulation, and why is that of any less worth?
Yeah. This
And what if that simulation somehow can be added to ours in the future?
the one thing that pains me evry tie is that Artemis will never see any of us. unless... the walls between the dimensions thinning includes the simulation we're in and the one we put Artemis in
This might be happening though.
Longing for the day I can finally give Artemis a hug 🥺
