The mission has 4 Imperial Fist supply crates that will be dropped in on Battle Round 3:
I will be playing Imperial Fists

-starting the mission we will take turns placing objective markers. 1st has to be outside 6" from ant map edge and 2" from any deployment area. Each successive marker must be 2" from any other marker.

3 or 4 depending on how many players

At the end of round 1 a d6 will determine removal of a "fake" marker, subsequently on round 2 until all markers save 1 are removed: drop pods crashes in

End of round 3 it opens and you can start taking the crates:

• 2 infantry models can carry a crate but can only use pistols and base melee while carrying; no penalty to movement

-infantry can place a crate on a transport vehicle for the cost of 1 slot on that transport; transports behave as normal regardless of having a crate

The objective is to collect the most crates; when you reach your entry point at the end of that round you will "collect" the crate.

At the end of round 8 the Imperial Fist will obliterate the entire arena from orbit and every model not in a deployment zone will die; then we can tally score 😝

Just FYI for Warhammer 40k I may need to start limiting faction choices based on teams/theming. Having Imperium fight Imperium doesn't make much sense for example. I'd be more insistent on this for any campaign stuff; but I'm also struggling with mission concepts with 4 random factions

Things like "attack POI" are hard with 3-4 factions all attacking a single target with no defense force

Eventually I'd want more planning to be put in like "hey I'm sending these forces here to do XYZ"; that's my dream

And I fully accept that during this something like the main hive city on Edhau could be overrun by Chaos and lost to the Imperium (for example)

I found a table that has an almost 4x style map building system with markers for shit like spaceports and cities and stuff

Using a single model as a bag you could effectively place an entire army and move it around this map to plan overall strategy

I just need to come up with a resource system so we can't just blitz the whole game with tons of lords of war xD

For me: Edhau is Imperium controlled with a training ground for Order of the Miracle (Battle Sisters) and chapels and all that. The moon and planet are protected by Emerald Falcon Imperial Guard. There's a limited detachment of Imperial Fist who are there to support Order of the Miracle against heretic rebellions. The 2nd system contains the Val'Nya forces of T'au, new conquest and in that region the Craftworld Nasgaled has recently appeared.
