Having channels hidden behind roles that aren't that prominently advertised probably doesn't help make them active, I'd suggest either making it more obvious that you need the roles for some channels (right now it's only mentioned in the middle of a pretty large welcome message) or just letting people access them without the roles since it's not like everyone is going to be interested in all the rest of the channels either and discord has ways to deal with uninteresting channels like mute and category collapse

I've suggested before that the role-choosing should be part of the joining process. Even if people aren't interested in those channels for "LFG"-type purposes, knowing what platform someone is on is often pretty important.

Suggestion: make an opt-in pingable role for all systems. It’s very difficult to find players at certain times of day, so having an opt in role where people can get other peoples’ attention would be wonderful.

fucking hell. this server is so full of nazi admins who think only their opinion matters. I was a regular poster on that channel and it certainly wasn't discussed when I was around. It harmed no one, it was fun. we liked it. And you just go take it away arbitrarily without asking what we think.

@covert current you get a certain number of xp per post (there might be a cap of how much per minute) and the roles start at lvl 10, and then go up every 5. You can see your lvl by typing .xp in #bot-spam

I overal like the changes and the server getting less big in channels. The merge of screenshots and art is one I do feel unsure about. I love to see what people create in artwork but I'm not that interesting in screenshots, but now I need to scroll trough pages of screenshots to maybe find some art

tbh I don't think art and screenshots should be in the same channel. while they're both visual media, art takes a lot longer to make than a screenshot. someone could just fill the channel with a bunch of screenshots that only took one button press, and drown out a piece of artwork that took hours to create

Cherry, the channel was not used enough to justify the separation. For at least the last month, there were 3 or less pieces of art posted per day. Many days with 0, most with 1, from a quick scroll of it. If it had been regularly used, it'd be one thing and I would agree with you, but it wasn't.

Once we have more mods to monitor all the channels, it will be reconsidered. For now, though, we just don't have the man power.

It isn't high activity in terms of art, but there have been plenty of days when conversations have taken place. It's just one more channel that needs to be monitored. Frisout, I don't expect people to be making tons of submissions, but it's also so sparsely used to post art that it is, with how few mods we have right now, another channel that needs to be monitored that we don't have the time for. As I said, once we have more mods, it will be reconsidered. It will most likely be bright back in time.

Most of these changes take about 3 minutes of time at most with actually making the change, posting announcements, etc. Removing channels because you have a few less people isn't exactly a solution to anything.

And merging less active channels under the guise that it's "another channel to monitor" doesn't make much sense, there were almost never issues with any of the small channels. Clicking on it to check takes even less time, and most users are good about pinging or DMing mods if bigger issues pop up
