One of the things that I did for my fan project was.... I used concept arts, pre-release stills and screenshots, sci-fi covers, google images, and photos of skies outside of my house - and then replicated it live in-game with memory code, prior to applying via xml, prior to re-writing in python for other purposes.
Those few pictures used this fan art as a concept, for the in-game atmospheric replication... if you compare them.

The NEXT trailer was likely recorded on the PC build, being fully maxed out on all settings (similar to all other trailers, except maybe the PS4 build trailers).

I just don't want to loose that nice realistic ocean wind wave texture we have in 1.38. Even though it lacks full wave action, it looks really realistic when reflecting the sunlight etc.

I handcrafted the biome. I handcrafted all of the color palettes in real-time. I handcrafted the atmospherics in real-time. I handcrafted the procedural weather. I handcrafted various distinctive swamp color palettes in real-time, and this video showcases one of them. All swamps will be 100% procedural, but the rules set in play will keep consistent beauty.
No ETA yet, unfortunately.... but I plan to get a basic test build out not too long from the release.
