its funny. i expected permadeath to be hard but the hardest part about it is trying to not get annoyed at the super nerfed stack sizes

Finally done gene editing and hatching every pet. No more adopting or gene editing pets again anytime. Next I'll need to get them to max level and raise their trust to 100 and wait for them all to mature is all that's left. Raising them to max level is definitely doable before next Wednesday, maxing trust is a maybe...that's going to be close. But they definitely won't mature before Wednesday.

Once you have the trophy/achievement and player title for going through a galactic center on permadeath you are basically done with permadeath for good.

honestly? i recently found a good explorer ship in permadeath and it has a warp distance of like 2100ly when fully upgraded. might just stock up on fuel and jump to the core the long way

Yes. The main story does not stop you from going to other galaxies. But ||if you reset the simulation then the galaxy you end up in might be different depending on the galaxy you are in and the type of galaxy you select when you reset the simulation.||

Permadeath is not hard really. The only thing you got to keep an eye out for is game breaking bugs that may kill you

That's exactly how I did it...warped to the center the long way, and then was done with permadeath.

Warping a lot might take time but it's safer. Easy enough to dock with the space station, exit the ship, and reload the restore point when you run into freighter defense battle.

one thing about the space encounters is i wish there were more encounters with living frigates. maybe you could rarely encounter pods of them warping in like freighters

Negatives will mostly be hidden behind "???" as results...not all of those will be negative but for the most part when there are negative results that's what you'll see.

It was much harder to get those when I did it in 2019 and exploring planets on permadeath is very dangerous. When I was collecting emeril for the Indium drive a predator spawned behind me and with one bite took all my shields and 2 of 3 hp points.

I don't know, I didn't mind it too much. Carrying things in the janky truck takes getting used to and you'll have to accept you'll lose some cargo, but once you unlock all the Colossus parts and player titles those are cross save unlocks...you'll never have to do that again on any other save.

I warped to systems until I found one that sold S class of all 5 hazard protection modules and personal shielding...6 S modules from one station...took maybe an hour or two. If all you want is one module type that's like 10 minutes max.

It's harder and longer for S modules to roll very close to their max values than it is for X modules. And if it took you too long to get the glyphs you definitely did it wrong...best way to get them is to rush the Artemis questline...only takes 4 to 6 hours max to do that and you have all glyphs. Ultra fast...not even remotely comparable to the pain of re-rolling S modules.

Because even though X have a greater stat range to roll in they have guarantees to roll high on all stats once in while...S modules don't have that. And top X modules are really not that hard to roll...I often rolled through multiple top rolls in 10 rolls...never a draught longer than 30 rolls. Infinitely better than rolling S modules. If all you want is X modules that are better than S that is ultra fast and easy.

Install, see if good, if not reload restore point, install and destroy some modules...cheap C class modules will do, save the game, install X module again to see if good and repeat until top X modules. I typically do it with 10 X modules of a kind. Install them all at once, check them, reload, etc.

Putting bases on some planets too also kind of fix that too because my bases didn't get deleted but that requires you the waste materials and landing on a planet and building a base and so on and so forth

The auto feeder/harvesters only work while you’re in the base so they won’t fill while not there like storage depots from mineral/gas extractors

Also another thing I did discover with the Dreadnaught if you summon your dreadnought when another Dreadnought is attacking a ship your Dreadnought becomes hostile towards you until the whole Dreadnought missions over

“Breeding” is using the egg modifier in anomaly. You can change their 3 traits, size, color, sometimes anatomy. Traits/size are reliable, other two kind of a crap shoot.

If they are old enough (sounds like they are) then when in their native biome you can summon them and there is an induce egg option.

No one has done it to me or as far as I know nobody has done it to me but I know it exists because people have complained about it that or any time with a new Expedition goes on there's always that handful of people that somehow have discovered all the world before anybody even gets to them

Yeah, they are both separate missions that need to be completed eventually. They have choices within them, but those don't stop anything else from starting. You'll also want to have lifted the seal of a harmonic camp for the first time if you haven't already, which is the second prerequisite to begin the autophage/staff missions They Who Returned. The wiki article i linked guides you through that process

if you start an expedition from your main save, it acts as a sort of "side-save" where your progress is separate from your main save. and then again, you can switch between the two at any point, once you reach the anomaly

No. Parts don't affect class, only reactor does. If you build it with S class reactor it will be S class.

I think you can buy it from any space station...default price is 10k nanites but you could get it for as low as 5k nanites depending on your standing with the race controlling the system.

Actually when ships were first buildable S reactors were 10k and for quite a while after. I didn't really need to craft ships at the time. I only dabbled a while after Solar Ships became craftable...so a long time after ships became craftable and reactors were still 10k at that time. Don't know when the price was increased but it wasn't immediately after crafting ships was added.

But I didn't craft those I got those through a mission

But it said it was a craftable so I got to figure out what it was again but I know it was some weird computer chip that was kind of golden looking

I know another okay source of money is getting those larvae eggs a stack of those at least sell for 1 million

And if you're lucky you can usually walk away with two stacks through each place you hit up or just go to a moon that has no gravity or an infested world

If I accidentally turn my save file into a custom save file by accidentally messing with the settings then I'll just start up a permadeath get through like half of the main missions collect the glyphs as fast as possible and then just do that which should take no more than like 5 days

Which way you set things matters

again, raising options for the achievement is fine

but lowering them immediately disqualifies the achievement permanently on that save, but warns you before it lets you apply

Look, if you want the center titles you'll want the permadeath one too and if you get to the center on permadeath you get survival title too...so just make a new permadeath save, and get to the center.

Which if they haven't patched it out yet I should be able to complete that one by staying in the Explorer and just kind of chilling out in that thing as I drive around
