I'm at 800 hours and I never use large refiners I have the dual refiner for my backpack and very few times you need to add three ingredients at least for what I do in the game

But also if I'm not mistaken you don't get the dual refiner for the exosuit until the end of the game but you get a single one and that thing is amazing

main trouble tends to be moving over slight apexes in the terrain which, due to the lack of suspension, causes the truck bed to become a catapult

It's optional. The only special thing about the starting ship is it can have its inventory expanded further than normal for its class (it has the S-class max inventory slots limits*). But I'm sentimental about it, and it works as a backup ship fine, long after I've picked up something with better style.

Another issue is that the truck bed functions as a lever so if the tilt happens at the front of the truck, the stuff in the back of the bed is being moved with more force relative to the front of the bed

First red-paw fauna I ever met (before I knew what that meant) was a t-rex-oid that killed me. Later, when pets were added to the game, I tamed one (fed it meat as I recall), and while riding it the others of its species chilled out a bit. The fauna on that planet were totally reset later on, and I think I had already had to release the pet t-rex-oid back when we couldn't have as many pets. could start with a lower class one until then, having a freighter for frigate missions is pretty handy and you could also have a squadron

i used to favour ground combat, but specifically on dissonant worlds to get a harmonic camp location without using a locator

you don't you only get freightor or capitol ship type ships, though there is a rare skin one on one of the expidetions, possibly more

i hate this game, just lost all my stuff bc the game likes to randomly lock my fps to 40. i was mid sent fight and died twice from the frame loss. and the only way to get my fps back is to restart the game. i did that and lost ALL MY STUFF. and i love that i cant go back to my grave and get my stuff back. 10/10 game. Valhiem even has a better system than this.
