i think the issue is you're picking it up as an inventory item, not installing it as a tech

Ah, ok, I seem to see slots you could install into but you do that from the item's menu in your inventory, not by moving it from cargo slots to tech slots. Hover over it with your pointer and I think it gives the menu of what you can do with it and choose Install, then move the installation pointer to one of those tech slots.

@tropic rapids once you install it, you typically want to move the tech around so related tech is adjacent. In your pic I saw all the hyperdrive tech was at the top, while the empty slots were at the bottom. Just move tech around (and the corvette dummy "tech" has no adjacency bonuses to worry about, so just move them out of the way as needed) and keep an eye on your resulting stats to find a good layout.

no. the glaaxy map defines everything. that never changes. when a system is entered, it is RECRAFTED from the 16 digit "seed code" that is defined by the galaxy map location. When everyone leaves, it is deleted form memory. And recrafted again fromt he same SEED CODE the next time someone enters it again.

highly recomend you leave them on a land base. There have been cases of bugs (rare) experienced by some players when they're on freighter.

Haven't gotten too far into the ones on the ps5 save but haven't been on that one for a while.

it's a really rare thing that involves loss of galaxy map icons and the solution is to place them on a land base / always seems linked to the farmer and scientist

When docked the GPU increases to nearly double clock speeds and thus nearly double tflops, the problem is that its for 4k, and when youre using a 1080p tv it still uses the same preset designed for the 4k capabilities

The cpu decreases so the gpu can incrwase thus allowing higher resolutions. Now this isnt a problem for 1st party games as the Nintendevs can use sorcery to mask the cpu downclock in their games, but for cpu bound 3rd parties they suffer a decent bit with the performance actually dropping when docked

Like NMS its very much cpu bound, its still can do 4k on switch 2 but even at 1080p its still utilizing the downclock cpu upclock gpu method

The internal res increases, from 540-720 drs->1080p in handheld, to 720-900drs->1080/2k/4k in docked. But im fairly certain the gpu doesnt need the full 3.1 tflops to achieve 1080p

If you are looking for crashed ones you can claim, look for systems that have the "dissonant" tag, and in them you should find a planet with that same tag as well. (Can be multiple planets too.)
If the planet is in an uncharted system, or has gold or rusted metal in the resource list, it will not have a crashed sentinel ship on it, so try a different system.
