Just got done replaying the Voyagers Redux via the offline expo generator, and I have to say, contrary to all the hate this expo got (maybe the original was far worse), I was positively surprised.

Actually one of the shortest and easiest ones of the first 11, imo. People complained about the creature milestones apparently, but I was basically able to find and finish them very quickly on planets in like the first five systems. Didn‘t take long at all.

Exobiology, which I also recently did (keep in mind i‘m talking the redux versions) felt way more tedious and annoying tbh.

Rewards for this one are def. worse though, probably the only expo which basically has no rewards I actually want, just did it for completion‘s sake and transferring over any potentially special items to my main save.

So yeh, those are my two cents on what I thought going into this marathon, would be the worst expedition.

Overall Leviathan and Exobiology I would rate the „worst“ so far, in terms of how difficult and tedious they were to complete. Leviathan I still liked actually, as it was very lore intense overall. But still some annoying milestones.

Now I‘m back at Omega, which was the one I returned to after a long hiatus, and was the first expo I did. In retrospect I feel like the quality of expeditions generally took quite a leap from there on, even though I haven‘t done every single one after it. Gonna catch up with those and then finally do Remnant myself 🫡

That Landing Bay thing saves you a long trip to the control bay to talk to the captain of freighters to find out the stats of the freighter... Someone tipped me off about that long ago...

Once freighters are unlocked, you will start seeing a "freighter defense" mission every 3 hours playing and every 5 system warps. If you defend it from pirates, you will be offered it for free (until you have accepted one). The second or third such freighter defense mission is generally much better than the very first, so typically just accept a reward instead until you defend a capital freighter that you like (I usually wait for an A- or S-class freighter, which can take quite some time.) After you accept a free one, you can trade it in on any others you later defend or find at random, for an additional fee. (You will see a freighter symbol on your HUD for boardable freighters.)

@verbal spire by the way, for all of the charts, you may want to save before trying the chart, that way you can reload and try again until you get what you want from them. For charts that find a number of different type things, if you don't visit the target the chart finds, the next chart of that type you use will skip over the unvisited type and give you another type. Using that, you can force those types of charts to always give you exactly what you want. In the case of settlement charts, just do the save and reload, and read the chart on the planet where you want to find one. That's how I got my 4 Lush planet settlements.

@verbal spire Just to confirm, since there are two layouts of unclaimed settlements (regular ones and autophage ones), by "office" do you mean the Overseer's Office that you build after you claim a settlement, or the central pillar or building at which you do the claiming? (I am assuming you are finding a regular settlement, but wanted to clarify.)

These usually consist of a ball and fins/noses, but can also be a squid.
Just like fighters, explorers, and haulers etc are a ship type, so is exotic ships.

Exotic ships have a 1/301 chance of spawning in any system.

Find a planet that is relatively flat, get in your exocraft (make sure it has scanner installed to make your life a little easier, cyclops scope is optional), hit scan and head to the nearest "gear" icon
