early game you can scrap ships you find using emergency transmission charts you buy from space stations

If its your main starship and you teleport to space station via teleporter you can scrap it without fixing

I would personally say once you get a Hyperdrive you can look for a Dissonant system to farm interceptors. It's a bit of a process but even C-Class haul a pretty good return.

All you need is Hyperdrive and the Advance Mining Laser.

I quit the game after spending 30 minutes on it, to give you some idea.

Well, first of all, I scanned for the second waste desposit thing (the big area you find with the exocraft scanner). I did this to finish the section of the phase, so I went there and all the way back but it didnt count. So I had to go all the way back (which took 18 minutes there and back - with cargo). So I was definitely a bit annoyed.
Because of this, and the nature of the expedition, in addition to the information other youtubers have on the matter and what they got out of it, I was just like "For my first expedition, and this it??"
If that makes sense?
The other thing is, I qould quite like the cosmetic appearance you get at the end...

It's a very short expedition, you can probably finish it in well under an hour if you rush it. But you can keep doing trucking outside in the main save too 🙂

So I think the intended loop is that you fly to a disposal plant with your spaceship, and then spawn in your truck and start salvaging around there. Doing it the other way around seems unnecessarily impractical

Make sure you have the milestone selected, sometimes other missions will override it (very annoying) otherwise it might not count. Going to the heap is only part of it, it does complete the rendezvous, but you should grab as much specialist waste as possible when there as thats needed for the milestone right after

I had much less problems with small bumps, but I wonder whether playing in single-player was why

Nothing, except give you rewards once you return to the main save. Usually some cosmetics and whatever the value of your inventory was when you finished. You can switch back and forth as many times as you like too

@keen ginkgo The RENEGADE looks very similar to the RESCUE shuttle.. however has an additional gun and uses cyclotron instead of rockets. Also has an additional engine. But thinkin of applying the "lejet" touch when Mitey gets more time

you can only at most have 400 base computers. ever. See there are limits. So you gotta pick what you wanna keep and what you don't really need. Over time your needs wil evolve so gettin rid of some bases helps

It wouldnt be the case in nms, but on earth there used to be a bunch of iron dissolved in the oceans, and when photosythetic life emerged, the newly oxygenated water resulted in the entire oceans rusting, turning a reddish color

After summoning the exocraft, I recommend to take the geo bay. You'll probably never leave the exocraft unless you're picking up trash
