There is a way to get the best rolls every time
1 - Save a lot of the uninstalled modules
2 - make a restore point by exiting your ship or a restore point item
3 - open a lot into empty slots and keep count in order for them
4 - when you see which ones give the best stats make sure you know where in the sequence they are
5 _ Reload the restore
6 - store and re-install a module for the number of times to get to the number the good stat one is and install it
Example best mod is number 6, store and install a module 5 times then open the new mod

Then I made a second new save because I wanted different difficulty settings. In my starter system, there is an ice planet with evergreen trees and lakes, plus it even has rings. I land on it and start looking for a good base location and stumble upon a premade base area??? Just by chance????

Sort of. Originally, the flat spot had a central round room, and you'd go into that to claim your base, after which you could build within the limits of the circle. The 'wild' base computer replaced the circle room with NEXT, when all the bases were stored, the universe was regenerated, and to get your base back you had to find a wild computer and call it back (with varying results, as it might be higher or lower than the new ground level). I think the frequency was reduced, because I've been looking for one for several years now for a nice flat base and haven't been able to locate one.

I gave them the name Talos because they’re loosely based on my old in-game character model, who had robotic arms and legs, which relates to the mythological Talos being what is essentially a bronze man

I’m debating what to settle on for the name of the second main character, Talos’ companion/partner. Originally I chose “Silenus” (can’t remember why), but I’m tempted to change it to “Rhadamanthus”, since in one interpretation/myth Rhadamanthus is the lover of Talos
