You copy it from within the expedition. Although bear in mind, for this specific expedition, starship copying is locked because you cannot use any starships except for the corvette you make during the expedition

I don't know how the game chooses the MT or ship to copy, I just make sure it's my active tool/ship at the time when I press the button to start expedition

Depends on where you are. Some systems are popular. Best way to find a populated system is to hitch a ride from the anomaly.

Or ... use the stargate on the anomaly and find a popular base.

Go to the anomaly and buy a conflict or trade scanner in the back where it shows you all the different upgrades/vendors and you want to go to the starship one

when you install it in your ship, you can open the galaxy map and it will tell you info about the star system, look for skulls. those are pirate controlled

I've been playing since day one in 2016, and my main “1.0 save” file is still my main save, and for a little while I've noticed when I teleport out of a Station to somewhere and then try to teleport back (looking for the Station listed under Stations tab in the Teleporter menu), it's not showing any of the recent Stations I've been in and warped out of. The latest Station listed is in Eissentam, and I'm in Euclid as I've been exclusively for a while now – I've warped out of quite a few stations in Euclid and none are showing at the top of (or anywhere in) the list.

I used a old Expedition save and did a test where I warped out of a Station to a base and then warped to another system and then went to its Station and looked at the Teleporter Station list and there at the top was the one that I came from - as it should have been. This is not updating any longer in my main save.

Oh, been attacking civilians? You’ll want to find a pirate star system. Use a conflict scanner to find a system with a skull logo. When you’re there, you can find parts to make a fake ID. Bring the fake ID to the giant eye in a space station and it’ll reset your faction karma to 0.

While using the pulse drive to speed between planets, one of the random encounters you can run into is a satellite broadcasting an invitation to join the pirate republic “Voice of Freedom”. From there just follow their instructions and be prepared to get in at least one space battle.

you don't actually have to unbury them. photon cannon has a bit of aoe radius, so if you aim right at the spot in the ground, it generally gets it after a few shots

If you want to play NMS long term you should really think about either setting up some serious unit farms or at least getting a MT with the right super charged slot layout layout, maxed scanner modules, and then work it with the nutrient ingestor...you'll have to cook a lot of food to keep it going but up to 38 million units per rare creature scan. For perspective of late game unit costs I am accumulating a bunch of freighter technology modules and 600 cargo bulkheads I want to have prepared in case HG allow us to own more freighters...thee whole thing will take around 700 Emergency Signal Scanners which sell from 5 million to 30 million each in quickly escalating costs with the price resetting every day. But I am buying most of them at 30 million each. I can buy about 65 of them with 1.8 billion units per day...the cost of 700 is close to 20 billion units. When you get to those kinds of expenditures handouts just won't cut it anymore.

All the console versions require an active platform subscription for multiplayer, if that is a focus for you. But even without one you can see the bases other players have created, and what star systems, planets, and moons they have discovered. (The discoveries/bases back end has free network access, only multiplayer requires a platform subscription on consoles.)

It is in the menus where you can check what you know, one of the submenus is for faction reputation. Just keep giving Korvax gifts and do Korvax standing Station missions and I don't think you even need to make it positive (I could be wrong), you just need to increase the current standing.

You’re the only human, maybe. You canonically never take off your helmet.

When you have the right Korvax items, talking to them in the Station or in Trading Posts you have the option to give them a gift. That raises standing. (But may be too slow.) I'd check for Korvax-standing missions in Stations, that is faster.

@vast kraken btw, you can only learn a single word from a given Korvax, but you can keep spamming the gift option to keep giving as many as you have, so you only need one Korvax for that. Even in a non-Korvax system, if you find one walking around in a Station, that'll do.

every system has a main race basically

when you click on a system there will be an icon (korvax, gek or vykeen) and it indicates what the main race of that system is

When you look at it in the Discoveries tab in the menu, it shows a Korvax (or Gek or Vy'keen) icon for the main race, as well as an icon for its main trade specialty, and in the galactic map a star-rating for how rich (1 to 3) or dangerous (1 to 3) it is. The Discoveries version uses words for the star-rating, but its easy enough to figure out.

If you'd like to hunt the resonators in peace, you can sometimes find a 'sentinel boundary map' in salvage containers - use that to find a pillar, disable the sentinels, and you get free loot until you leave the system
