No idea what you're talking about...you can't "wipe out" a creature type on a planet...the game will always spawn more, and they won't be replaced by another creature type that wasn't spawning there before. You can kill all that you see of one creature until you only see other creatures that world can spawn but you didn't "wipe out" that creature type...as you travel the planet or reload the game you will always see more, and the new creatures you see are not crated because you "wiped out" the other creature...it was always something the game could spawn on that planet and you would have seen it or run into it even if you didn't shoot the other creatures.

That was something HG did between some updates a few years back...with the Origin update iirc. The game added a lot of new creature types and fauna on existing worlds was randomized but for some odd reason some worlds retained records of the old fauna but marked them "extinct" and they no longer count towards planet completion. Only a few though...most fauna was replaced without any records of the old being left there.

If the creature had already been scanned and uploaded it was marked as extinct. But since a lot of players don't even know they need to upload their discoveries the ones that were left undiscovered didn't show up as extinct.

HG fixed a lot of stuff but in the past there were ways...people could glitch to bypass base restrictions and trash the place or leave comm terminals that cannot be remove blocking the doors, etc.

People will often leave settings on allowing other people to edit their bases. But that's kind of their fault for not checking their settings. It's real bad if they turn your bass into a trap base in which you get killed every time you load in

The salvaged glass from the quads are useful though. So dont shy away from going after them to stock some of those up. Not only do they contain sentinel tech for multi-tool and exosuit but come up in autophage stuff too
