Depending on the size of the base, you may find it easier to use solar panels. You can bury a bunch of connected prefab cube modules with solar panels in them, and the panels will still work. You can run a single wire from that to your base. Often easier than setting up a full EM generator station, but impractical if your base has a huge power draw.

select resizable obj, switch to wire, place wire, move away from first placed point, wire glitch by pressing wire switch and place buttons at same time, small wire created.
cache an object by selecting it, then pressing switch wire and edit object simultaneously (Q and C on PC), if done correctly will show "place wire" in the left corner while showing a selection mesh with the cursor. duplicate small wire. wire glitch newly small scaled item

every one of the glitches has a slightly different look than the rest on the planets, like some things will have a green light, but the ones you pick up will have a blue light. the hex bush stems i think are different so you can see them from far once you know what to look for

yeah, I did this with shields. Between the Ion Shields and Ceto Class reactors each giving 7-12% bonus... but an S-class shield giving 30% bonus... I get that the corvette parts are ON TOP OF, but if you're out of slots, then decisions must be made.

right? cuz deep space i feel like the margin for error is a lot smaller, (in the sense of, you have like space suit, and a tether, attached to you, and sometimes even little jet propulsions to keep you going in the right direction. where as deep water, you can get swept in a current and you cant do nun, or a sea creature you never knew existed attacks you cuz (80%) or more of earths water is still unexplored...and alot more stuff like if there is too much pressure for your dive suit or you rise up water too fast and your vital organs explode literally cuz of nitrogen gas being absorbed into your blood.
