Honestly a root matter is that there are not many systems around in game social interaction beyond player to player or in groups.

The game itself is static. and leaning into larger events would mean needing more methods for players to interact with each other.

Let me add a note to that: yes, creative should give access to all... but right now there's one that I'm not getting in free-crafting, which is the Thermal Grille Cap (introduced in one of the latest hotfixes). That one you have to get from salvaged scrap for some reason. A bug, I guess.
