They're at the end of a pretty long crafting tree, they sell for like 11 million each. You'll need to plant a bunch of plants and find sources for some other materials, but once you do getting units becomes easy

You don't get a sentinel ship by killing them. You can get an item that will lead you to one if you kill them all, but it's not the only way.

There's starship inventory expansion items you can get by doing missions sometimes, or from the guilds on the space station if you have enough reputation with them. you can get lots of valuable stuff from the guilds so make sure to donate whatever you can to them

Different ship types are associated with bigger inventories (slots) generally speaking.
Haulers, some explorers, interceptors, tend to have more generous slots in my experience

Head to the planet, mine as much of everything you can. Copper, atlantadium, ferrite etc, clear the place.

You'll need advanced mining laser for radiant shards

Search through visor for those big machines that drill into the ground, usually guarded by sentinels. Dig hole, blow thing up and close entrance to hide from sentinels.

Keep going till you get an echo locator.

From there it's gravy, just follow the markers.

Dang, the controller input not being recognized thing hasn't happened to me at all untill today. As of today, it has happened every single time I've tried to load the game except for once. Each time, I've had to load the game about 5 or 6 times again in order to have the game recognize my controller.

Big heavy corvettes are not viable. I was able to outmaneuver and defeat a massive corvette using the starborn Phoenix

They can’t turn fast enough to catch you with their cannons

If you're trying to minmax, the trick to corvettes is cramming in as many reactors as you can without making it look ugly. Up to 3 of each type will add to your stats.

If anyone's currently in the expedition, or hasn't done it yet, getting a freighter and buying a bunch of frigates is a pretty decent way to get a lot of nanites all at once. A full fleet gets you 75000
