Yeah you'll benefit from maxing out all your ship/weapon stats, but its not really necessary to go all in.
And combat is not really the main focus of the game.

Phew, ok, so from inside the inaccessible part of my freighter base I've deleted all the rooms except the Teleporter Room. Now I'll go teleport back to the station, fly back to the freighter landing bay, and from the Freighter Control Room put back the T-Junction corridor and then delete the Teleporter Room from the outside wall. Then I'll delete the T-Junction corridor, then reset the freighter base, save and reload, and then try building a new freighter base. Hopefully that will workaround the bug. Unless it is cursed 🤣

OK, so (with a totally deleted freighter base) I did "Reset freighter base" and it created just an empty hallway. I was expecting it to just be a random freighter base like it was originally, or not there at all. Lol, since you can scrap freighter base rooms to reclaim resources, in theory I could just keep scrapping this hallway and resetting the freighter base over and over to make stacks of resources... 🤣

Planet finding is one of the most painful things I've ever experienced in my entire life. I found this really nice planet, everything is perfect, right, no sentinels, no bad weather, and then out of nowhere, a meteor shower and like 5 electrical storms obliterate me

Well for those who don't know at one point in one of the earlier versions of the game a warp to Likholu would appear in the warp list and if you went there it would cause all kinds of issues for your game. In my case it wiped my freighter's customizations when I was foolish enough to summon in there. If I remember it didn't even show up on the galaxy map if you tried to warp out of there.

Fine a planet with Salvagable Scrap and use your Analysis Visor to find Yellow makers for scrap. If you have a corvette already you can hover with it and shoot the ground around the spot to collect the items without ever landing or leaving the ship.

i typically take an atlas pass to expeditions. just so i can open those tubes. Warp fuel and health and shield recharges for your exosuit are useful as they are typically in short supply and having them can save you time. other than that I just let the expedition play out.
actually. bringing warp upgrades along is a good idea. the expedition ships have an annoyingly short range which chews up the limited fuel.
