1. I think it’s pretty fun, it works for what it’s meant to do
2. the walk key is just wasd (or stick on controller), you would press a key to sprint, otherwise you’re walking
3. I disagree, the exosuits have applicable technology that make sense, if you think it’s half finished, it might be due to not having completed quest lines & unlocked all upgrades
4. they’ve done that already a few times actually, this is the best the UI has been
5. only if you set your inventory stack size to restricted, I feel like I have plenty of space, can manage it will, and I still could upgrade certain inventories (notably ship & freighter)
   While I agree it’s not a perfect game, calling someone who loves it (including me, as I love this game) regardless of supposed flaws even if not perfect, or really calling anyone “delusional” is not ok

A top end PC can run at higher framerate - I'm not sure where on the details settings PS5 is. Note PS5 Pro is about 40% more powerful on GPU than PS5. Close to Ultra I'd say.

I run 2560x1440 all settings Ultra on a Ryzen 7 7700X + GTX 1080Ti and get 75-95 fps typically. 120+ in space. fwiw

The funny thing is, as janky as NMS is, it's the most popular of the space sims right now outside of EVE.

The first two I would agree with if this was a combat-orientated game, which it isn't. It's servicable for what the game is, which is predominantly a sandbox exploration game. The third one I do agree with. There are a few uses for them but not what they are intended for, which sucks. UI I disagree, it's simple, lacking in clutter and everything is where you would expect to find it. Inventory management is better than it has ever been with the ability to expand your inventory, your ship's inventory, build inventory space in your base, freighter, and corvette.

The one that takes it even further than that though (no pretty space ship flying models to see whatsoever ever) is Children of a Dead Earth: game made by an engineer who admitted that he didn't really want to make a game, but it was a way to create a near future space combat simulation / experiment.

I fought a guy in a super shielded corvette yesterday in permadeath using a regular starship (starborn Phoenix) and it was so fun and I actually had to think a lot more than I do when fighting ai pirates. The guns on his corvette did crazy damage but since he was so large and heavy I was able to constantly apply pressure by outmaneuvering him and staying on his back/staying directly above him. However every time I slipped up I’d get severely punished due to the sheer amount of damage his corvette would dish out. Having to think deeply about ship combat is so fun. I even took him into an asteroid field so that his large corvette would crash into debris which would damage his internals (shield arrays etc etc)

If playing permadeath seems appealing, I HIGHLY recommend it. But I also suggest checking out the "Custom Settings" pane after you select Permadeath as the play mode. Once you select permadeath it limits what you can change; but you can ease up on some of the "extra grind" difficulty factors.
