It's a weird comparison, but Watch Dogs introduces PVP elements by having a scripted NPC encounter that emulates said PVP event. There could be a similar encounter where there's a ship that attacks you when you warp to a system, launch from a planet, etc. and then you get a short tutorial quest/pop-up informing you about the option to turn off PVP.

it was after a string of bugs happening all over the game... tried to use the pulse engine to get to my freighter and got kicked out of flight and my spaceship pointed like 30 degrees to the right, consistantly for 5 tries, eveyr time I'd exit a planet it would happen.

phasing thorugh spacestation docking bay, not getting pickedup by the landing sequence...
quests POI's not showing up so I couldn't continue the quests...
one time I took a nexus mission that told me that the mission was more then 8 jumps away Q_Q.
sometimes hovering over fauna won't scan them, have to retry over and over...

i play on challenging and even with infra-knife with 3 s class upgrades it kinda doesnt do much, I think it it was like 12k dps

but phase beam on corvette? Melts anything for whatever reason. With no upgrades btw
