I love the corvettes, but I really hate the RNG element. Look around for salvage, dig it up, find out what it is, look around some more... I'd really love it if they let you manufacture parts. Add a new base part, "Assembler", with recipes for each type. Make it take thousands of elements and hours per part, that's fine, but it would be better than the current chaos.

I've got over 1k hours and it's mostly because I usually start from scratch on new saves and go through the story again when they add new things. I've added doing old expeditions to my runs which gives a lot more variety and a lot more stuff to collect. My most recent run is the hardest settings on permadeath, doing the story and all the expeditions. It's taken a few tries because I sometimes get cocky and screw up 😅

it's possible but the problem is you cant do it in vanilla and you have to technically make two entire bridges, one base computer on each planet, because of the way that bases load. you can just do a teleporter though

There are so many other ways that the Anomaly is special for. Removing the Board isn't really a big deal to me. It actually becomes semi-tedious to go back and forth after every mission. Also the novelty of being able to walk around your ship feels like it will fade pretty fast, so adding some actual practical reason to use the Corvetter over the frigates seems completely fine and balanced to me.

Salvage Data should be pretty easy to find, especially on your starting planets. If it's Salvaged Scrap you're looking for make sure the planet actually has some when you scan it.
