There are some planets with "Salvageable Scrap" You can see which planet has them by scanning a planet in ship. These containers are protected by 1-3 Branches so you gotta first mine the branches then the main module

Yes you can access the freighter but its weird, like they didnt figure out a good way. close to the hatch you will find the right button to open/close the hatch. and on the left theres a button to teleport inside freighter

There’s a ton of bugs. I’ve been having a damn near impossible time summoning my ship and the ability to beam up to it doesn’t work. Ik it’ll all be fixed with the patches to come and while it’s a bit petty it would be cool to see the complexity limit increased and the ability to put the doors on it sideways. My ultimate thing would be adding vehicles bays. Being able to drop a vehicle on to the surface and have your friends explore while you fly and scout overhead would be fucking sick

Yeah that would be nice. But for the very beginning the ship-module-limit is not the problem. The real problem is "some interior pieces count towards the ship-module-limit.
I've builld a ship with max pieces (100) and then used the interior-building-menu for customization. After that in the ship-building-menu the limit was "130 of 100". Therefore i couldn't save new ship-changes.

Usually you’ll only find a system somebody found multiple years ago, or a random base if your lucky because of how big the universe is. There’s still a lot of hotspots like galaxy cores or a community somebody made though

the ship doesnt replace anything, it feels its own niche.
it's gonna have less maneuverability and stuff than a regular starship, but it also has its own powerful weapons, it can be used to haul cargo easily, it can be your mobile base, but it can't replace everything neither the starship or freighter do. each has their own use, each are all really cool
