You currently have enough space to collect one of each type and then some. The weapon wall furniture item lets you cold store some extra multitools and your freighter can cold store extra starships. There's no way to have an uncapped number of either though

I'd define expansion as a subset of DLC, but I think when the terms were invented, DLC was not a common thing because a lot of deviced didn't have internet. Big changes were released on physical media, so they weren't DLC, by definition
