animus beam is basically a starbirth quest tech, i'd suggest uninstalling it after you dont need it anymore to avoid bugs; runic lens is atlantid multitool type core mining beam tech. basically, atlantids have runic lens instead of mining beam like most other tools do. you can actually install the normal mining beam tech side by side with runic lens, with the former buffing the latter

Every starstation has a multtool. You can upgrade them. Your beginning one is good until you find one you like. Ships you can buy in start stations or find crashes and stuff.

Honestly they are mostly too taste. Can make any of them pretty sweet with good luck and pirate modules.
