I need a little help with my mindset towards the game, some motivation or idea for a goal or perspective maybe. I feel like I am reaching that phase similar to where I left the game last time a few years ago, where all main quests are complete for me and I feel like I am skimming across systems looking for something that I'm not even sure of myself. I feel like I've had the most fun early on with more limitations, but I got bases for most relevant resources now. Feels to me that I am just skipping between my settlements, space stations, my freighter, my resource bases and a handful of significant points of interest now.

You're making it harder than it needs to be... Starship is limited to how far it can hyperdrive... If you try to reach galaxy center by jumping it'll take so many hours... If you find the first two glyphs or spend a few hours with the quest line, you'll be able to portal to galaxy center
