I know they are a small team, I don't really understand what that would have to do with patching as many bugs as possible beforehand hand so it can be in one and potentially smaller update. I have no idea how the files are built, it's not really something that a console player (like myself) really has to deal with, unlike PC so I won't bother commenting about that.

The devs try to fix all critical bugs as quickly as they are reported (such as crashes), and as they are doing so they will likely patch a couple of other bugs. But, the amount that they can fix is kinda limited to how many people report bugs.
