my freighter jumps 5k light years. I generally start 600-700k from the core. it takes typically a week of nightly playing on average 3 hours or so per session to get from the edge to the core. I look for 3 star systems at my max jump range and explore any system with unique oddities or lush planets. I land on any lush planet and scan all the fauna looking for diplos. I'm sure if I didn't explore planets and just jumped manually I could cut things down by half per galaxy
