its a heights issue. The standard rules for base building were you can't go higher than 1050u from the planet surface. But if you find a water world and the water is deeper than that.. your base computer, base parts and anything else past the boundry will not render.

Is this due to the "building base beyond the atmospheric limit" problem? Also, you should try building the "recovered base resources" base part, you may find the resources from "lost" bases may be there. I sometimes find stuff there and was not even expecting it to contain anything, but it automatically collects unreachable deleted base part resources.

Hmm, per the wiki, it (the Base Salvage Capsule) unlocks when you get your freighter, should not be built anywhere but a planetary base (it is bugged in freighter bases), and contains half the resources from deleted bases. (Moral of the story being you should delete base parts individually from a base you plan to delete, I guess?)
Given that I never delete bases, and have found stuff in it when I built it anyway, I'm thinking it is a backstop for resources otherwise lost also.
However, it is true that I have not built one recently (had no need, not deleting bases) so if it has been removed I would be unaware.

So, after building its second marketplace, my settlement gave me a choice of two more things to build: A ship landing pad and a farm. I went with the landing pad for 3 reasons:

1. I need a place to land my ship when I come to the settlement.
2. More people wanted the landing pad.
3. My settlement's on an icy planet where it's almost -150° out, and that's if a blizzard isn't blowing. Ain't nothing going to grow on a farm in those conditions.
